Fun for all ages from 4 (subject to height restrictions) to 40-plus, Diggerland with its 20 different rides and drives and an array of additional activities is the ideal theme park for small to large groups looking for something exciting and truly unique. My family loved it, and best of all, I found the staff very nice and not in the box.
All rides have hight restrictions but staff always tried to be lenient and positive, which in contrast to many other theme parks, is not the same.

Having just parted over £150 at the gate for me, my partner and 2 children at 5 years old, we entered the site. The kids naturally ran to the nearest thing which was 5 small toy diggers in a circle. Just to be met with a ‘£1 per play’ sign. But wait, we just paid £150 to get in here!!? (Almost the same as it would to get us all in Alton towers for the day!…and your wanting us to pay on this small toy digger??) With no cash on us we had to immediately disappoint the kids and move on the next attraction….dodgems! Perfect! This will soon saturate the upset kids from not being able to play with the digger. Oh no, dodgems as well ‘£1 per ride?!!’. Literally about to turn back out the park and demand a refund. But we travelled an hour to get here and the park was quiet so we just carried on to the next attractions.
Most of the rest of the parks ‘attraction loop’ was free ride. The kids had a great time having had used real size diggers completely on their own. It’s a good place to experience using diggers. But take away the digging and your left with little to do, no actual rides apart from sitting in a huge JBC digger scoop and getting swung around (which is a fun experience il give them that). However, in just 1.5hrs we had done the full loop which didn’t even take it to lunch time… which leads to the next issue.
We went to the ‘fun factory’ soft play to kill a bit of time to get us to lunch. The fun factory was soulless, dark, quiet and very underwhelming. Not to mention full of pay to play stuff. Very little love or thought has gone into this potentially good area. After 20 mins the kids were bored of the indoor play area so we ventured up to the cafe area.
Again, dark, soulless and somewhat filthy upstairs area with two half witted indoor carting tracks (AGAIN £1 TO RIDE!!) a very much half hearted effort of a canteen selling basic foods. Having walked past a family and seen the £9.50 boiled hotdog & chips, along with seeing the cleanliness of the area, we opted not to bother. Having done all the parks attractions and the park getting busier, we left, just 2hrs after arriving. £150!?
Baffled by the lack of love in the indoor areas to be honest. Felt unfinished. There should be a full on restaurant serving excellent foods. The park definitely has a unique selling point which the kids enjoyed, but severely let down by the catering facilities, indoor areas and extra charges for the smaller stuff.
I think the owners need to visit near by places like stockheld park and Thornton farm park for inspiration on how to make use of the areas that lack life before I would consider paying anywhere near the £150+ on the gate entry fee.
The staff managing the rides were all fantastic and polite. This was a huge positive of the park

Staff were fantastic with my unsure 4 yr old nephew ( and myself for some of it lol)
The shop staff also were fantastic helping with taxis and advice
The park what can I say awesome has everything, my nephew was in awe
A special shout out to the man who drove the little train on the 27th of September on opening my nephew wouldn't leave my side but on the 2nd ride you convinced him he could do it not only did he ride that train himself 4 times after that but you gave him the confidence ( he's a little shy and unsure) to ride other things by himself so thank you, you added to his fabulous visit

Our 6 year old granddaughter loves Diggerland Durham, and we do too! The park is easy to navigate, and there's plenty to do, with a great indoor play area and cafe, too. You can also take a picnic. Operating real diggers is lots of fun, but also raises confidence. What sets Diggerland Durham apart is how amazing the 'team members' are, without exception. They are friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel valued. We've been 3 times this year! Well worth a visit :-)

Brilliant day out with my grandchildren, not sure who enjoyed it the most. Great staff, fantastic value and so much fun, highlight for me were the Dodgems and my 14 year old grandaughter driving the 'Police SUV', just so much fun, been there before and will go again , thank you folks.

We visited for my little boys 3rd Birthday and it was perfect. My 8 year old daughter equally enjoyed it and we would visit again.
Lots to do, very inclusive for most ages/height, there was not a lot my 3 year old couldn't go on.
The cafe with the soft play area was great and reasonably priced.
The shop equally was well priced.
We look forward to visiting again.

Good outdoor facilities. I think the price could be lower as it is expensive. Although they class themselves as a theme park, I would disagree. You would spend a few hours here but not a full day out unless you wanted to repeat the activities. The outside wooden play areas are extremely outdated and unsafe in areas in my opinion. You shouldn’t have to worry about your child being safe on the equipment and I did. I think the wooden play areas are overlooked and probably haven’t been thoroughly safety checked in a long time. We came in 2023 and 2025 and nothing has been updated in that time and I had the same opinions about the play areas both times. The wood in some areas is unsafe.
The indoor soft play is the worst and dirtiest soft play I’ve ever visited. It is disgusting and a fine example of why soft plays are a breeding ground for germs. I actually didn’t let my children play in them after I discovered the condition of them. I don’t think they’d be any evidence of the soft play having ever been cleaned. The indoor and outdoor play areas need a full revamp in my opinion. I have photos of all areas of concern but can’t upload them to this review. I have photos of the unsafe wooden outdoor play areas and of the filthy “soft play”.

I regret to share that during our visit to Diggerland in South Yorkshire, my 3-year-old granddaughter was physically assaulted by another child.
After the incident, I informed the on-site manager, who simply apologized and claimed it wasn't their fault. She mentioned she would speak to the other child's guardians but did not take any details from me.
I later emailed the head office to express my concerns, as such incidents should be logged for health and safety reasons. Unfortunately, the response I received from both the team manager on-site and the in-house manager was dismissive and did not reflect the seriousness of the situation.
I feel compelled to report this incident to Health & Safety, as it should never have occurred. It’s crucial that Diggerland takes these matters seriously to ensure the safety of all children visiting their facility. I hope necessary changes will be implemented to prevent this from happening again.

We visited Diggerland Kent over the weekend to celebrate my child’s birthday, having been a few times before and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this visit was badly tarnished by the appalling attitude of the manager, Linzi, which overshadowed what otherwise could have been a positive day.
On the Friday, I had attempted to book six tickets online, but the website kept failing at checkout. I phoned Diggerland HQ, explained the issue, and was reassured by the bookings team that it was no problem – I was advised to simply take a screenshot of the error and bring it with me the next day, and they would honour the online price. It was a very simple, straightforward call lasting less than a minute.
When we arrived on Saturday, I showed the screenshot to the front desk and explained the situation. The first staff member we dealt with, Jess, was polite and helpful, but needed to call a manager to authorise the discounted rate. This is where the experience soured.
Linzi, the manager, was defensive and confrontational from the outset. She dismissed the screenshot outright, stating it “could have been taken at any time,” and went so far as to claim it was “impossible” that a screenshot could be cropped (something anyone who has used a computer knows isn’t true). Despite me offering to show my call log from the previous day, Linzi insisted that because I hadn’t written down the name of the staff member I spoke to, she would not accept it. She even claimed that screenshots “aren’t accepted” and that I should instead have taken a photo of my computer screen with my phone – a rule she was unable to justify.
The discussion dragged on unnecessarily for several minutes while other customers waited behind us. Linzi’s tone throughout was rude, dismissive, and frankly shocking for someone in a managerial role. Eventually, after I said I would pay the extra £60 just to end the ordeal, she suddenly reversed her position, told Jess to put the tickets through at the online price, and stormed off. Jess was left to handle the booking, visibly embarrassed by the way her manager had behaved.
I have never been spoken to by a member of staff in such an unprofessional and disrespectful way, let alone by someone in a management position. It ruined the atmosphere at the very start of what should have been a special day for my child’s birthday. Linzi’s behaviour was not only unnecessary but deeply damaging to the Diggerland brand – she is, quite simply, not fit to be the face of customer service in such a role.
That said, once past the entrance, the rest of the day was enjoyable. The activities themselves were great, as always, and the other staff were polite and friendly. Jess in particular deserves recognition for her professionalism despite the situation, and Lucy N in the shop was also very kind and helpful. The queues were longer than on previous visits (15–45 minutes for most rides), but that’s to be expected on a busy weekend.
We have visited Diggerland three times before and had excellent experiences, but this was the first time I have left disappointed. Sadly, until the company addresses the behaviour of staff like Linzi, we would not return.

Zero accommodation for honest booking errors despite immediately contacting them to tell them both my partner and myself had booked birthday tickets for our son. Even if this is your policy, both bookers were of the understanding the booking was correct at the time. Shocking customer service. Rearranging for in the next 2 months is not realistically a solution.

Fantastic day family day out. Loved all the digger experiences and the Police car . Once concern regarding the diggers that scooped up the dirt , it was very windy and the dirt created a very dusty atmosphere not sure if this may be a health concern especially for members of staff .

We have been regular visitors to Kent Diggerland for years. Yesterday, we had a very unsatisfactory experience with the dodgem cars which for some reason are charged separately. The park was quiet and queues small. It took nearly an hour for 3 rides. The operative was not properly trained. They did not know how to measure heights properly(at their own admission) and were unfamiliar with the rules about which children needed accompanying. This all took a long time considering only 4 cars were running. The first ride was cut short because a car broke down and everyone had to get off. The second ride was cut short because a child was injured by a bump (alarmingly the operative was not watching so did not see what had happened).Everyone once again had to get off. These rides should have been re-run. The 3rd ride was successful and more cars were introduced??
At this point we really had to leave and took our remaining tokens back to the desk asking for a refund. In the normal course of events the tokens are not refundable. However, if the ride and operative are not fit for purpose, normal rules do not apply. The person at the desk refused a refund and treated us like idiots. We are old, not stupid.
We wil not be returning and we will no longer recommend Diggerland to our friends as a good place to take grandchildren.

Family of 6 ranging in ages from 5 to 82 (including a 13 and 15 year old). Must admit I was reserved about what the teenagers would be able to do but can honestly say an amazing day out for all the family. Arrived at 10:30 and didn’t leave till the park closed at 5pm ( or just after given the 5,13 and 15 year old were on the diggerspin for the 9th time). Staff were amazing on each ride and so patient with supporting grandma onto the rides.
Was more expensive than a usual day out but we all definitely had our moneys worth so as a special treat we’d do it again. Even the teenagers spoke of how much they enjoyed it
We didn’t try the food as took a picnic with us but plenty of benches and space around to enjoy this comfortably.
Highly recommend for all

We visited Diggerland Kent today and it was a bit underwhelming. The kids enjoyed seeing the different machines and the queues weren’t too long in general.
However, something needs to change regarding the accuracy and consistency of checking children’s height. My son went on multiple attractions alone as he measured above 1.1 meters. But then you get someone who measures him on uneven surface at the gate and turns him away?! Where’s the logic?! Stand at the entrance and measure him on your board and see how tall he is!! No one else turned him away. It’s very upsetting and distressing for a child who has patiently waited.
Provide wrist bands for people over 1.1 meters at the entrance where they can be measured so everyone knows! I wouldn’t visit here again as I don’t believe it’s worth the value or the unhelpful measuring!

We visited Diggerland Kent today and had an absolutely amazing time! Everything was fantastic, but the highlight of our day was definitely the Safari ride with Lewis (I hope I’ve spelled that correctly!). He was incredible with the kids - so enthusiastic, engaging, and clearly dedicated to making the experience special for everyone. My boys absolutely loved it and haven’t stopped talking about it since. Huge thanks to Lewis and the Diggerland team for such a memorable day!
