Always next day delivery so far.

Buro Roma Chair

Bought a new Buro Chair from Discount Office. Made the transaction late Friday evening. Got my item delivered pretty quickly on Tuesday morning the next week. Loved the experience and the quality of the product that I bought.

Slow delivery

Sorry to hear about the delay and thanks for providing the order#. This order was placed at 8.47pm on a Friday. The next opportunity for us to process the order was on the following Monday. We did that but for some reason it didn't get picked up until the Wednesday. This particular product does have a 1-2d dispatch time as indicated on its product page. Regardless, delivery should've been the day after but was further delayed by NZ Post. I see this on the tracking:

First impression so far

I looked at the reviews and was uncertain about making a purchase but thought I would at least try as the prices for the items we needed at our organisation were cheaper than what we were paying for at other businesses. I manage a non-profit organsiation and saving money where we can, is always good for business.

I signed up yesterday and made an order thinking I would have to still do a shop run as we were nearly out of A4 paper. Our order was split into two and I had only received the tracking order for the art supplies and not the 2 boxes of A4 which was okay because I was expecting it would take up to 3 days or more if I receive an email to say otherwise.

Look up from reading the email and the courier waltz's in with the boxes of A4 paper for an order I made 19hrs ago. I haven't received the art supplies yet but am happy with the boxes of paper because our carpark isn't close to our building and remembering to take the wagon shopping makes carting big packages back harder.

Will definitely make the change to Discount Office as our main office and art supplier. Art supplies arrived early in the morning yesterday and our staff were exceptionally happy.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service.

My package was delivered to the wrong address by the courier. They couldn't get it back. A new package was sent immediately. The communication was great and the follow-through was excellent.

Yanus(The main director) is a terrible individual.

I was doing business with them for a while, had an injury and when I got back to Yanus he/she didn't care at all and decided to take me to collections even though I was the one that was communicating.

You opened an account with us in Jan 2025, You placed your first order with credit card. You placed 5 further orders in January within days of each other. All of these were on credit terms. We delivered these high value orders in full. These were valued over $1000. We put your 6th order on hold and asked you to settle the account before placing new ones. That was all in Jan 2025.

You promised to pay off the account in Jan 2025. You said your organisation was changing bank accounts and had to wait a week. No payments came since.

We continued to send you statements monthly asking to be paid the $1000+ owing. After allowing you plenty of time to settle your account and no payment coming through, we communicated with you in October 2025 that we would refer your debt to a debt collection agency.

We acted in good faith the whole time. And for our trouble, you leave us with monies owing and a negative review.

Money paid but no goods received

I made an online order with Discount Office. The order number is 2258836. Their website said online purchases made before 1pm would be mostly dispatched same day. My order was made in the morning. However the company failed (refused?) 2 consecutive days to send out my ordered items and blamed the courier NZ Post failed to pick up the parcel. But NZ Post has denied the claim. NZ Post said the company has not ordered pickup of my parcel. Discount Office just accepts my online payment, emailing me to wait for their updates and does not reply to my last email ( expressing my strong disappointment due to their broken promise ) of yesterday until late afternoon of today after my repeated phone calls. I may consider calling the police soon.
PS: Tonight Discount Office cancelled the order and said they would refund my money. They claimed to have a clean activity (?)record in NZ and are happy to deal with police. But I have statements from NZ Post in hand that can prove the company has (lied to?) misled me. The prices of the firm's goods are lower compared with others' but their delivery efficiency is not up to others' I have experienced. Hope the firm can behave in future and stop making empty promises. I would rather buy from other retailers who can offer a definite delivery timeframe. These days, some online retailers even make compensation to buyers in case of delivery delays. This is especially true when I need the ordered items to do some meaningful work benefitting the underprivileged! Anyway, this time I have learned a painful lesson by putting too much trust in the seller's claim of efficiency.

Thanks for your review. I've reviewed the order, support tickets and phone conversations related to this order.

First off, I'm sorry this order was delayed. We actually started preparing the order on the same day it was received (24th Sep). It was meant to leave the next day. We printed a packing slip and courier label at this time.

When we started packing your order the next day (25th Sep) we noticed an issue with stock of one of the products in your order. Because of this we had to get more of that product shipped to our warehouse before we could ship this to you.

This would've stretched the delivery out by another day. But this was delayed even further when we had delivery issues to our warehouse.

This doesn't happen often but when it does, the fault is ours - not yours.

I don't see any evidence of no response to your emails in our support system, and I can confirm we fielded 2 of your phone calls. We can't not take calls as we don't have Caller ID to choose which calls to answer.

We refunded the order to allow you to order from another retailer. I can't speak to your comments about calling the police over this. We definitely had delays with your order but this is far from criminal behaviour.

As for us pushing the blame to NZPost, we sent you the tracking details showing the courier label was printed but not yet picked up since the 24th. Our support team misunderstood this but when you called through, we informed you about the delay. There was never any attempt to place blame elsewhere - else we wouldn't have shared the tracking details showing the current state of the delivery.

1. we received your order on 12 Aug 12:56pm
2. we processed it on 13 Aug and it shipped on 14 Aug.
3. Courier attempted delivery on 15 Aug but was marked as unsuccessful. They left a card and a photo of your mailbox.
4. We then resent it on another shipping label on 18 Aug. This cost us a second shipping fee to do which we didnt oncharge you.
5. On 19th they attempted delivery again but again unsuccessful.
6. Courier retried delivery on 22 Aug and was finally successful.

All our deliveries are signature required unless customer specifies otherwise. I'm happy to provide you with the evidence of all of this activity. I also looked at our support tickets and didn't find any communication with you on this order. You may have called us on our 0800 number?

Im sorry you received your items late but as you can see we shipped your order twice and the delay was entirely due to the courier unable to deliver to you but leaving a card for you both times.

Delivery was much slower than expected

Delivery was much slower than expected, though customer service has been responsive.
We placed an order on 22nd July for seven chairs and some stationery for our office. Since our shop operates on a “by appointment” basis, I reached out straight away to ask for an ETA so we could plan to be on site to receive the delivery. I was told the order would arrive on 16th August and that I’d receive a tracking link, but no link was ever provided.

The stationery was dropped off at the building entrance a few days later, with no notice. About 1–2 weeks after that, some of the chairs arrived unexpectedly — luckily my partner happened to be at the shop to receive them. I had to follow up several times to get updates on the remaining items and to let them know again and again how important it was to get all the items at once or at least being updated on the delivery if they were yet to be keep coming in batches. As of 21st August (a month later), one chair is still missing.

While I appreciate the team’s prompt replies to my emails, the lack of clear delivery updates and delays caused us unnecessary inconvenience. We were hoping for a faster, more reliable process and better communication around our needs

Poor customer service and very slow delivery

I purchased Buro Elan chair on July 21st, but it was only delivered on August 6th — two and a half weeks later, and only after I personally contacted the delivery service (Fliway) to arrange delivery.

Despite emailing Discount Office customer support multiple times, I received no helpful response, just apologies from the delay. After nearly two weeks of waiting, I requested to cancel the order and get a refund so I could just buy locally. Days later, I was told, “We are still coordinating with our team to contact Fliway to have this cancelled and not delivered to you. Once that is acknowledge, we'll have you credited for this." How long does the cancellation have to take?

Feeling helpless, I called - only to speak with a representative who sounded irritated hearing my inquiry and raised his voice when I asked if it's possible to call Fliway. He said, “I will email them and get back to you tomorrow. It’s 5 o’clock, so nothing can be done now,” it was actually 4:42 PM. He insisted calling Fliway is difficult and emailing was the only option — of course, he never called me back the next day.

With no support from the shop, I contacted Fliway directly. They were very accommodating and arranged my delivery for the following day.

It would’ve been understandable to wait if there were any sign they were actively trying to resolve the issue — but clearly, they weren’t.

I also later found the same chair on Mighty Ape for $698, while I paid $788 here.

So save the hassle and shop somewhere else.

I'm sorry about your experience with our delivery and customer service. Firstly, thank for choosing us for your purchase. Now to your order:

- Order placed on 21 July 2025 at 10:27 pm
- We shipped on 23 July 2025 at 2:33 pm
- We shipped in 1.5 days
- It left the warehouse and was at the depot on 23 July.

The problem:
The courier held this order for a long time in their depot. They're almost always on time but sometimes they do have delays and I'm really sorry it impacted your order.

I've just read through the support ticket for this order and the back and forth and I can see the frustration and I'm really sorry for that. I see Mikaela has been attending your request and was coordinating with the warehouse and also Fliway. It was eventually escalated to the manager who managed to call his contact at Fliway to get the shipment moving.

I'll get support to review this ticket again and use it as a learning on how to manage these better in the future - to escalate sooner rather than later.

Please also note that the product you're comparing is a different SKU to the one on MightyApe. The below is the comparable product which we sell for $699. The one on MightyApe is also sold by a third party seller with delivery taking much longer as a rule not exception too - as is indicated in their listing.

I also read that you were having back pain and needed this chair asap and as someone who has that myself I sympathise with you. I was very happy with my toner cartridge. You can't buy these easily as the printer is not as young as it used to be!.
Good service, and was delivered promptly.

Hi Anton, thanks for your review. It's disappointing to see this review given we shipped your order on the same day you placed the order. The order was placed 1.26pm on 9 April. And we shipped it to NZ Post Couriers at 4.10pm on the same day.

We would've sent you a shipping notification at the time too. I'm looking at your tracking now and see that the package is at the depot in Highbrook and hasnt moved from there. I will call the couriers in the morning to see why it's held up.

Our shipping times are really fast. Most orders ship on the same or next day and arrive the next day if in Auckland and not too far off for other parts of NZ. In this case NZ Post is taking a bit longer. I'm sorry about that and will chase that up.
