I bought the Roborock Saros 20 expecting a premium robot vacuum, but instead, I seem to have purchased a very expensive robotic assistant that gently prepares my floors for my actual vacuum cleaner.

The Saros 20 has a very interesting approach to cleaning. When transitioning from hard wooden floors to carpets, it suddenly develops a severe fear of suction. The moment it lifts itself onto the carpet, it completely loses its supposedly high suction power. Furthermore, it apparently believes the edges of the carpet are a strict no-go zone, completely failing to make a pass to pick up the debris there.

I sent the robot in for inspection, assuming something was broken. Nope! According to Roborock, it is "functioning correctly." Their helpdesk even tried to "help" by suggesting some specific manual settings I could tweak. Call me crazy, but when I pay premium money for a high-end robot vacuum, I kind of expect it to vacuum by default. Basic functions like maintaining suction and cleaning along edges shouldn't require special workarounds.

I have photographic evidence that I sadly can't upload here, but let me paint you a picture: After the Saros completed a full cleaning of my 50 m² apartment, I took out my regular Dyson and went over the entire floor again (both the wood and the carpet). The massive amount of dirt, dust, and debris left behind by the Roborock was honestly impressive.

If you truly love the physical act of vacuuming yourself, but feel like your floors need a light, robotic massage first, the Saros 20 is definitely for you. If you actually want clean floors, save your money.

Vores Reborock støvsuger opgav virke og meldte fejl på laser modulet. Efter lidt skriven from og tilbage med kundeservice, sendte de UPS fragtpapirer og vi leverede støvsugeren hos den lokale UPS agent, tirsdag den 26. maj.
Fredag den 29. Maj fik vi at vide at nu var støvsugeren repareret og den vbille blive returneret.
Mandag den 1. Juni, altså i dag, har vi modtaget støvsugeren

Pas på med Roborock.
Roborock ønsker ikke at sælge reservedele til deres maskiner, så vær forberedt på at det vil komme til at koste en arm og et ben når garantien udløber, fordi de kun vil reparere maskinerne igennem deres service værksteder.

Jeg har spurgt på en simpel reservedel til min S8 MaxV Ultra som jeg havde til hensigt at udskifte selv for at undgå besvær med at sende maskinen frem og tilbage. Her nægter Roborock simpelthen at sælge mig reservedelen. Der er ganske vist en smule garanti på maskinen endnu, men netprisen på reservedelen (uoriginalt) er så lav at jeg ikke gider besværet med at sende.

Så alt i alt, vær forberedt på at man ikke kan reparere disse modeller med originale dele når garantien udløber.

Vores Q8 robot støvsuger stoppede med at virke, og kundeservice var ubrugelig.
Robotten kan ikke længere komme på wifi, hvorfor den ikke virker.

Our Q8 robot vacuum stopped working with the wifi. Customer support seems to be worthless; they keep sending you mails with instructions that lead nowhere. Lastly they need a video of the problem to tell me it’s still not working.
Factory reset didn’t help either.
