Wish u could put 0 stars……..

Absolute scam, reported to police, trading standards the lot!! Was told call out fee was £50 odd didn’t mind. To then cause excessive damage to the door unnecessarily. We had been locked out as the lock/ door handle had given up. Told us then once he had gained entry it was £350 he put a cheap nasty lock in and then demanded £822.

DO NOT use this company foreign scammers. Police have intelligence on them and I will be getting my money back one way or another.

Stinking attitude from the “technician” was really abrupt and snotty. Arrived in an unmarked blue car had a badge on but conveniently was facing the wrong way.
This was 10:30pm and had I not been so stressed and exhausted I would’ve seen through this!!

Absolute scam of a company

Absolute scam of a company. Wish I had seen these reviews first. Was quoted £55 over the phone, “locksmith” turned up with no ID, didn’t give a name. Told me it would be £155 to open my door and then drilled into my lock without me even confirming and then told me it was £390 because I needed a new lock and keys. I am doing a chargeback with my bank. I will be reporting it to the police as well. He was done within 5 minutes. Took advantage of the fact I am a young woman. Would give 0 stars if I could. Invoice isn't even the same company I rang.

Terrifying Experience

Called the company after a flatmate was locked out as it was the first result on Google. They initially said the locksmith will be in 30 minutes and didn’t arrive for the next 2 hours or more. Finally when the locksmith arrived, no id or name was given/said. He said his English is bad. He tried to rip us by charging £432 for fixing the locks. When we said it was too much, he said £120 for drilling the door open and when we said no. He asked for £70 for cancellation. He was lurking around the apartment for the payment. It was a horrifying experience.

I have actually just been robbed £400…

I have actually just been robbed £400 for a replacement lock, which was basic! I would never use this company again and felt I had to pay as he opened my door which I could not open before. The lock looks awful and I am now in debt. Bunch of scammed, from £49 my ass

Complete scam

Complete scam! Do not use them. A man called Tony seems to be on the phone but a foreign male turns up. With very little Kit and seems to have no clue of what he’s doing. Caused over £400 worth of damage to my door and demanded money having not even gained entry, thankfully.

Misleading pricing and excessive charges – not as agreed

I am submitting this review to report my experience with Garry (advertised via doorunlock.co.uk, associated with UK ALPHA SERVICES LTD and KINGSMAN SECURITY SOLUTIONS LTD) regarding a recent job carried out.

I arranged a visit in advance (this was not an emergency call-out). The engineer attended in the early evening and completed the work in under 40 minutes. The work carried out was limited to opening a stuck UPVC door and replacing the lock cylinder and gearbox.

However, I was charged a total of £1,210, which raises several serious concerns:

I was charged both an “emergency service fee” and an inflated door opening fee, despite this not being an emergency and no such charges being mentioned during the visit.
The invoice includes items listed as “supply & fit” (which typically include labour), yet an additional £285 labour charge was added separately.
I was charged £475 for a “multipoint locking system”, although only the gearbox (central mechanism) was actually replaced.
The final invoice does not match the verbal pricing discussed on site. Prices were only described as “from £xxx”, and no clear total was confirmed before the work proceeded.

The total cost is significantly higher than standard market rates for this type of work, even allowing for weekend service.

Importantly, the entire visit, including all pricing discussions, was recorded on my home security system. This provides clear evidence that the quoted figures and the final charges do not match.

I raised these issues directly with Garry and requested a partial refund, but he refused and maintained that all charges were correct.

Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about:

-misleading pricing practices
-lack of transparency
-charges that do not reflect the actual work carried out

I would strongly advise others to obtain a clear written quote and full price breakdown before agreeing to any work.

Swindlers

Told me would be 45 minutes came after over an hour. Tried to blag me that i would need to replace the whole lock for £500+, when i said i couldn't pay that he got shook and offered £300 to open the door with "no damage", I said i needed to think on it, he offered £200, I said £150, he said no. I said okay then will pass. Proceeded to swipe a card through the lock and open it in a second no damage and then asked for the £150. Pure tried to swindle me and overcharged for what was essentially a flick of his hand. Scammy and predatory do not recommend.

Locksmith Scammers

Don’t bother. These are Romanian scammers pretending to be locksmiths.

It starts with a Google search since you are locked out. You contact the first result you see on Google which happens to be the paid for results. You are desperate as you are locked out.

You see that they change locks replaced from £49.00, with no mention of a callout fee.

A few minutes later, the so called “locksmith” arrives. He carries no name badge, does not give you his name, and has no form of I.D. He brings out a calculator and adds a bunch of numbers consisting of his call out fee (which is never mentioned on the website), labour, tax, and whatsoever gibberish he can claim; to show you a figure that can exceed £1,000.00 (just to open a lock????!!).

To confront him over this excessive charge is where things can get dangerous. He has been known to intimidate, separate vulnerable young women from their group to extort vast amounts of money, as he usually says “How much are you willing to pay to get in your house”.

If you have ever been a victim of this individual or his compadres, be sure to file a chargeback with your bank, contact the police via Action Fraud, and Trading Standards.

You are under no obligation to pay him a penny, not even the call out fee. Be ready to call the police if he does not leave your premises (the fear of the police usually has him scramming).

If you have had “work” done by him, be sure to contact a real locksmith as his locks usually breaks down within a week.

You have been warned.
