Parita and Melissa looked after me very well.

I had a terrible experience as a first time client. My treatment (one filling) has left me in chronic stabbing pain in the mouth for WEEKS. Not the one tooth that was treated (a filling), but at least half of my teeth both in the top and bottom row. My entire appointment was extremely painful and agonising. The anaesthetic did not work and I had to suffer through stabbing pains during the procedure.
I was just going to be forgiving about the situation and be content and happy with it just being sorted out by someone, but a hostile call with the receptionist this afternoon just really got on my nerves. As soon as I informed my doctors of the situation, they ordered an emergency scan and have ordered opioid pain medication to be sent to my house and this receptionist kept insisting that they do not know what they are doing - because of course she knows better than doctors with decades of experience and I am sure she knows my entire medical and dental history in order to make such bold claims! God! She was so damn pushy and insisted on me making another appointment and she didn’t stop until I said that I would call after appointment I had tomorrow that made it difficult for me to guarantee being there (because I would never book an appointment if I did not think I could guarantee arriving on time) . After I said I would call tomorrow after my appointment, she bluntly shut off the phone conversation. If someone in the front of house does not behave well, that does not reflect well on the entire practice. I can maybe excuse it if I was talking to a teenager having a bad day, but I cannot accept that from a grown adult.
I have completely changed my mind about forgiving the situation and I am angry that I paid for an appointment and I would then be expected to pay for another appointment to get the problem fixed by the same dental office that caused it in the first place.
The only reason I was going to forgive the situation in the first place was because I thought the dentist was genuinely nice and friendly during the appointment, and I value medical professionals who try to make their patients comfortable when undergoing a procedure, but I just can’t stand the cocky receptionist right now and I literally do not want to speak to or hear from her again. I would rather just go and see someone else. If the practitioners wanted to tell me that they knew my doctors were 100% wrong in their attempt to investigate and treat the problem, I would appreciate a dentist calling and speaking to me about it because I understand when medical professionals actually talk to me and explain things. I do not speak to the admin staff about my medical health at my GP or consultants’ office, and I am not going to do the same at a dental practice. I am so disappointed and appalled. I will never ever discuss personal and confidential matters with people who are not involved in my medical care, and I don’t know why I was expected to do this with a stranger I do not think has a duty of care and confidentiality to me. If a dentist actually called or emailed me, I would have happily explained what was going on with my medical health and what my doctors were saying. They are not urgently booking a scan for fun! Better communication would have gone a long way here instead of me trying to explain something that the receptionist clearly struggled to understand. The contrast between my doctors calling and emailing me compared to this practice having me justify my doctors’ response to my complaint to a stranger is huge.
I have already made another appointment at another dental practice to sort this mess; I do not want to come here again. Unfortunately, if I rated the specific dentist only, I would give her a better score as she was professional and friendly, but the ongoing negative part of my experience far outweighs the positive here and for that reason, I cannot justify giving a good rating.
