A complete scam company
A complete scam company! I thought I was paying £3 for a surprise boots gift box which I came across on fb a few days ago. This girl called Lily Thompson apparently…. It seemed so legit as there was a boots survey to fill out first and a few good reviews which were probably fake! I put my details in to receive the gift box only. There was no mention of grow
ebuisnesplan or grow your blog on this site what so ever! I certainly did NOT agree to any subscriptions knowingly. If I did I was completely tricked as it was under the disguise of the boots box which is what I wanted to buy for £3 only! These people are complete frauds and scammers. I contacted them to ask for a refund and they said this:
“ I checked the system and found your details tied to an account that I have just closed/cancelled. From this day on, you won't be charged again unless the transaction has already been reserved on your account.
If you cancel your membership during the 3 day trial period, you will not be enrolled in our membership.”
😡They took £53 out of my bank account this morning. I certainly have not received anything to the value of £53 from them! And growyourblog took £45 also. I have had to change my bank card. My bank will take action if they don’t refund me within 30 days. But I will also report them to Action Fraud and Trading standards if they don’t refund me. As they can’t get away with tricking people in this way just because their company is so shit that it’s probably the only way to try and make a bit of money!
Update 24th July: I’m happy to say that growyourblog has now issued me with a full refund. After I wrote a letter and sent it to the owner explaining that it’s illegal to force consumers into buying a product under false pretences and that I would be protected under the Consumer Protection for unfair trading regulations. I received an email from customer services requesting me to ‘send us as much information as you can find regarding the message you claim you have received from us’.
As I had saved and photographed the exact link and fb profile and pages I could send it straight away. They then said
‘ Unfortunately, this could indicate potential affiliate abuse. These types of advertising methods violate our code of conduct, and we take swift action to sanction the publishers responsible. We have handed over the documents you provided to our marketing partner's compliance team, and they will respond accordingly, and if necessary, stop this type of traffic.’ It was a lot of work to get them to actually listen and believe me, I then had to prove things from my end but they did do right and completely refund me in the end. I think had they asked for the proof sooner instead of try to fob me off it would have been resolved a lot quicker but as I say they did get there in the end 😅
