AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I purchased an AIS box from this company.
After the purchase, you need to pay an additional $60.00 to purchase the software that allows you to program the box with your boat name and other information. The software didn't work. I sent the Em-Trak "staff" more than 10 screenshots showing them the exact arror messages I was getting. They asked me to remove the software and reinstall. However, Microsoft Windows cannot uninstall the software. I tried opn three different devices.
The Em-Trak staff kept asking the same questions over and over as I was constantly dealing with different people.
After about three weeks of this I asked for a refund. Eventually, I had to send the AIS box to a marine electroinic store in Florida and have them program it for me.
Eventually, I had no choice but to sail (Florida - The Dominican Republic) no AIS. I explained to EmTrak that the nonfunctional software put me in a dangerous position, sailing for two weeks with no AIS. They clearly could not have cared less. Here is the message they sent me:
"Your feedback is genuinely appreciated and will be shared with the team so we can improve both our support process and communication in situations like this."
