The make-safe visit was inadequate

Window eventually fitted, after many months of being left with fragments of glass falling out due to their make-safe solution being so poor and the process was a nightmare

The make-safe visit was inadequate, and the rest was worse.

The quote for replacement glass arrived by SMS from a mobile with no proper details or breakdown. I was told to reply by text; I did so multiple times and was ignored. I then contacted customer services via the website and enquiries email and was again ignored, only getting a response after posting a review here. I was later told by Rachael at Evander that the number “wasn’t theirs”, yet the texts kept coming; I shared screenshots but no one investigated why.

I only received a proper written quote and breakdown after specifically asking. I wasn’t given the T&Cs; when requested I was told to got find them myself on the website.

When I tried to pay, I was told only one person could take payment and there was a note that I had to speak to Rachael first. Despite emailing her (and being told I could pay by phone), I never got a call or email back. No secure payment link was offered and her request that I deal with her directly created a barrier to payment wherein I had to phone back multiple times.

On the day, the installer seemed under-briefed and unsure about the job/setup.

I’d already reviewed the poor communication, so they knew there were issues, but nothing improved, there was no explanation for the texting/number confusion, and my request for reasonable adjustments (email-only; I have autism/ADHD) wasn’t honoured.

I can’t comment yet on long-term durability, but based on the make-safe quality, misinformation, and disorganisation, I wouldn’t use Evander again. A simple job became an exhausting ordeal, and customer service left a lot to be desired. It was very stressful and upsetting and seemed to get worse as it went on.

excellent service from start to finish

The engineers who came out were professional and did a fantastic replacement of my door casette

Luke Vincent who I was liaising with was more than fantastic and so patience and professional. I asked loads of questions and he always replied me back.

Excellent service.

Our insurance company used Evander after our conservatory window was maliciously broken. The staff at Evander made what could have been a very complicated claim very easy. They were very thoughtful especially the staff at the Thornaby branch who were very professional from the first phone call to the repair of the window. We would highly recommend them.
