Shocking experience. Charge points not working. Syntax errors when trying to pay. Yet card charged twice at £35 with no charge delivered. Other charge points not recognised by the network. On hold for hours trying to reach customer service.
Prior to Evolt arriving on the Isle of Man, we had Podpoint. It worked ok. Evolt is pathetic. The contactless payment is hit and miss and the app is appalling. I’ve tried repeatedly to obtain an account but it simply refuses to accept an aisle of Man address. Hopeless.
Awful network. Every week at work the chargers are down and I have to ring the help desk who then finally remotely reset the chargers so I can charge the car. 20 minutes every time to get your car charging is unacceptable
Complete scam.. takes money from your account but doesn’t charge your car.. then keeps you on the phone for 30 minutes jumping through hoops and still doesn’t get resolved
App is awful and to pay £35 to charge a car is daylight robbery. Should be incentivised to use these things instead of driving petrol cars to parking spaces…£6 a day vs £35 - jog on
Every time their network fails and leaves me screwed I’m going to leave a review.
What an absolutely diabolical pile of poop. The website isn’t formatted for mobile neither is the app and I’m usingthe most common iPhone. You can’t do anything it’s absolutely rubbish.
Took 2 payments totalling £70 and held funds told for upto 7 business days.
It's Chargers and companies like these that will be the downfall of electric cars.
Until it's all contact less payments, no apps or details given I Couldn't possibly recommend electric cars to others.
Avoid these crooks and charge elsewhere
The Peel IOM Tesco had been supplied with the superior Pod point outlets. Manx Utilities dropped it and now has E Volt .
Complete mess. Even the Manx EV owners decry the very poor EVolt replacement.
Be warned. EVolt is appalling.
Evolt chargers do not work very often, 4 chargers all down due to coms faults again, would advise use other chargers if possible
Have used these charges several times. When they work they work adequately. However, the last 3 times I have recieved either and ‘ARGOS’ or ‘Connection Error’ code. This means you pay £35 each time as a deposit for the pleasure of nothing. The return of the deposit, which is held by the bank as a pending transaction, is not timely. Whilst I’m sure this technically crosses ‘t’s’ and dots ‘i’s’ - it’s just a sh*tty customer experience that leaves you feeling like a plumb with your charging cable in your hand. Puts you off using them to be honest.
They take the pre auth then take the charge on top then make you wait 7 days for your pre auth to drop. Absolute joke of a company avoid.
I used the charger in the Woodbridge station car park on Sunday 16th February. It didn’t take cards so I had to ring the company and download the app. The pre-payment was £35 which they took and then also took £4.49 for what I used. I rang and was told they’re experiencing difficulties with the pre-payment and I would eventually get my £35 back through the bank. Still no sign of the money. Not good enough.
