Measurements all wrong quality poor

I ordered several pairs of mens shorts, all 42" waist. these were 'new in' according to the website. When they arrived not one pair was the same size let alone the correct size. One was 39.5", one 40.5" and the other 40.9" - all of them labelled as 42" waist. My husband was extremely disappointed and I had to go all the way in to town to send them back. Whats the point in selling things for them to be so ridiculously poorly made? Once Edinburgh Wollen Mill stood for something but It doesn't anymore. I will not buy from them again.

ayr branch a delight

Have shopped in Ayr branch since it reopened. Now have a range of dresses, sweaters etc in my wardrobe. totally delighted with every item. Staff are helpful and go out of way to make this a pleasant experience. Lovethis shop

Very polite shop assistant in the store at Worthing.

I have recently lost 3 stones in weight and have been looking for a new wardrobe and was very pleased to find an Edingburgh Wollen Mills shop in my local town of Worthing in West Sussex. Some of the items I purchased on line I purchased two sizes to ensure I purchased the right fit and today I went to my local store to return the couple of items that I purchased a duplicate . The lady working in the store was on her own and was on the phone to a lady who asked several questions and kept her on the line for some time which she could not really afford to do when she was supervising the whole shop with me and others coming into the store to be served.
It is very easy to complain about unhelpful or miserable, indifferent shop workers but very seldom are they praised. The lady in the EWM store was under pressure while I was waiting to be served and she kept mouthing an apology to me for keeping me waiting as she whipped around the store answering questions being asked of her by the lady on the phone. Yet, she kept her cool and was very polite to the telephone caller and I think that should be highlighted for praise as it would have been so easy to be less cool under pressure. It made me feel pleased to be shopping in that store.
It was unfortunate that the Manager had just popped out for a couple of minutes and is often the case that was when customers came into the store. Customers are entitled to ring the store when they have a question to ask and I was glad that she was given time to ask them and received a very polite and comprehensive response despite the assistant being as quick as she could to answer her questions.

Brilliant Stores, Apalling mail order service

The Stores are brilliant, they always have a brilliant selection of products which go well in any season and some fantastic offers on sale, particularly the bigger stores. Unfortunately what lets it down massively is the mail order service, on two occasions orders to Edinburgh have not been delivered, yet there isn't a problem when we order to our home address, Customer Services are also not much help at trying to resolve these issues either.

Faulty product

Had to return an item as the zip was faulty.
In the parcel was a sticky returns slip which informed me that I had to pay the return postage. Since the return was no fault of mine I requested that I be reimbursed the postage.This was declined. I also requested a replacement item but was given an item refund instead. Really not a way to run a business.

Don't buy voucher online

If you search voucher on ewm website it will come up the gift card which tells you it can be used in store or online. When you go to purchase one online it turns out you can only use online, no good for my mom in her 80s!! Ewm we're less than sympathetic and wouldn't change to in store card or refund me, not to mention the attitude of the person on the phone.
Order took a stupid time to arrive, i had paid by the voucher and PayPal. 2 mens tops had to be sent back, poor quality and out of proportion size wise. After 20 days no refund, evri hadn't updated the return for days!! Had to contact ewm, they won't refund money only on an e voucher, i have to go through this ridiculously poor service all over again having to order items I dont want for a substantial amount of money. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS COMPANY, THINK TWICE BEFORE ORDERING. IM STILL WAITING FOR REFUND AFTER A MONTH!! TRADING STANDARDS HERE I COME!!!

Disgusted

I would have given 0 stars but you can only give 1. Tavistock store staff member did not know how to do a online return. Had to call for Manager who then made me feel I was a Credit Card Fraud as my signature on the back of my card had clearly rubbed away and she needed proof of a signature to do a return. Having lived in the Town for 60 years and a well known respected member of the community I found this extremely insulting. There is only 1 member of staff in the Tavistock store who is worth her weight in gold, Ingrid. Come on Ewm update your returns system and train your incompetent staff. I was also appalled that a lady in a wheelchair had to stay outside of the store and not a accompany her husband as the 2nd door had to be opened and incompetent staff member didn't do this. I felt embarrassed for the poor lady left on the pavement. In this day and age of inclusion and the Equality Act Ewm and their incompetent staff fall very short. Absolutely disgusting

Excellent

I visited their Portree store when on holiday and tried on a sweater which was a bit snug and no bigger size. I looked online and it was there in the next size up so I ordered it. It arrived on time 3 days later and it's lovely, very good quality. I also bought a sweater for myself and two for my husband from the Portree store, all really nice. The staff were friendly, helpful and the store is dog friendly.

I didn’t even want to give one star!!! This company have not sent my parcel, do not answer my calls or emails and I will be going to my bank for a chargeback the minute the 30 days has passed. Do not buy from this company!!!

Shop elsewhere!!

Order placed on 27th January....meant to be 2 days and click and collect. Now on EVRI they haven't updated tracking since 28th!!! I spoke to Michelle at EWM, but cant help as up to EVRI NOW!! how come companies like John lewis are able to deliver in 2 days,never any problems. I am guessing EWM have run out off stock and that's why not received it. And not replace it only refund which is ########## as birthday gifts!! So AVOID AVOID AVOID

Bad service from Evri and EWM who use them not very helpful

Placed order 18th January 2026. In response to an email from Evri I updated my delivery on the 19th to my local post office which is an Evri parcel shop (no option to do this at the point of order & if we are out Evri throw parcels over our garden gate which I find unacceptable). At 13.55 on the 27th I emailed EWM and have had no response. On the 28th I had an email from Evri to say my parcel was ready for collection - this was followed a few minutes later by another email saying that my parcel couldn't be delivered that day. Since then I have heard nothing from either company so rang EWM today 2nd February. EWM's system shows the parcel as delivered to my P. O. on the 30th - presumably Evri expected me to know by telepathy that it had arrived there (IF it has arrived !). When I rang today I just wanted to cancel the order but apparently I can't - I have to collect the parcel and then go through the return process. Why doesn't EWM take this over and sort it out? Why do I have to have further inconvenience and delay? This is extremely poor.

Helpful staff

We was on a coach holiday and we called into the Edinburgh woollen mill shop in invanery Scotland.
We went in the coffee shop and the lady who served us was amazing she was just so helpful and friendly,she made us some sandwiches up and she told us some history of invanery,she was so knowledgeable of the area,also another lady having her lunch break was also lovely and friendly,so we was just so pleased to have such lovely helpful staff.i was sorry I didn't get there names.but I am sure they will know who they was.

prodicuts not wool but acryic

I wish I had read the reviews first dont buy from this company they are a con. You buy a product that says textured knit with wool turns out it is only 15% wool the rest acrylic which I never buy. You expect a company with woollen mills in their name to produce woollen jumpers or am I just naive?

Needed to do a return at the shop in Burton on the water in the Cotswolds.Such helpful staff who helped us even though it took a while she was very patient and understanding.Really wonderful shop with plenty of lovely clothing.My mum had been looking a long time for a cashmere jersey with a v neck which we found at the shop

RIPPED OF

Ordered a shirt end of November delivery was 5-7days still waiting courier is EVRI lol . customer service useless didn't want to know said EVRI had lost parcel in warehouse..no apology no explanation felt like didn't want to be bothered chasing it up asked to speak to a supervisor...left phone number..still waiting from this morning... warning don't go near this store you have been warned

Chester: excellent

We had an excellent visit to the Chester Store on our Xmas break. (Such a pleasure, as we have no local stores any more near our town.)

There was a good selection of current styles available there.

Kate, the Manager and Louisa were so friendly and helpful and we both bought items.
