Really lovely staff
Really lovely staff - they're very helpful. There was a good selection of clothing and as I was so hot, they even fetched me some water with ice, sat me down and looked after me! A rare thing to encounter these days. I'd definitely recommend.

Went to Edinburgh Woollen Mill Newbury this morning with the view to buy suitable clothing for a relative and was helped by Pip, she was amazing in that she was knowledgeable, helpful, patient and was not pushy. A truly memorable visit for us. Consequently we purchased quite a few garments.
Brilliant service, highly recommended.

Quick to take your money, slow to deliver your goods. Evri just don't keep you informed.
Customer service useless
Customer service useless. Ordered an item online with free postage but only option Evri. Waited twelve days whilst Evri said the parcel would be out for delivery then suddenly they are saying there is a problem with the address and they are returning it to EWM. Tried EWMs so called 'customer service' worse than useless. They have these standard replies which do not answer any of your questions. I asked why the parcel had not been delivered when the address is correct, the post code is correct and they have delivered to the address before, all they kept repeating was Evri says there is a problem with the address. No mention that they would contact Evri to find out why. This was for a birthday present which I can't now buy. If I try and purchase again I have lost the free delivery and it will be too late. I explained this to EWM but all they keep saying is they will not resend the parcel and will only refund me when they receive it back (if they ever do from Evri). No apology and no offer to assist. Will not be using their website again.

one of worst meals i have been presented with in a long time, burger and fries twice for kids which they found uneatable, i had fish and chips found it very hard to find the fish in the batter, wife had scampi and fries bland but she ate it., some of equipment looked like a good scrub would not hurt, was in the food job myself few years back and i would not have entertained that or the staff, they even wanted to charge for sachet of tomato ketchup. would not eat there again if they paid me. cant remember the exact amount but was around 60 pounds felt robbed.

Horsham branch in Hilliers Garden Centre. Very helpful staff. I took a group of 16 elderly residents from Horsham. The staff were very helpful and considerate.

Bought a mattress topper in error I thought it was a quilt my fault I know but I took it straight back within the hour to be told it’s their policy not to refund as it was opened. I asked for an exchange not a refund. Nothing displayed and nothing on the receipt to say no returns. The same cashier that served me actually said I should have been told when I purchased it ? I said so why didn’t you ? Also nothing on line under their returns policy. Waiting on a reply from customer services

absolutely atrocious online customer service. giftcards of a value of £60 would not work, got to wait for webteam to sort and will have to wait at least 24 hours. not good enough, got my money. took ages to get hold of CS only two of them working and no supervisor. ridiculous. asked to give new gc to value of old ones and cancel old ones but this is impossible for some reason unless im happy to wait for one in the post, not possible just to issue a new gc no there and then. why not its 2025? meanwhile i will have to wait and they have £60 of my money. No further gcs will be purchased from this company,

You couldn’t make it up!
Staff initially refused to allow my 90 year old mother to change a faulty scarf she had bought 40 minutes earlier because my mother (unusually) had declined the receipt.
The assistant she first spoke to, claimed she could do nothing without the receipt.
This is clearly DISINFORMATION, since only PROOF OF PURCHASE is needed.
Then the assistant who originally served my mother came over. She confirmed that she had served my mother, and also confirmed that she had thrown the receipt in the bin behind her!
However, she too, refused to allow the exchange because my mother didn’t have the receipt!
How absurd!
I stood my ground, and after several minutes, she eventually retrieved the receipt from the bin when I said there would be some bad publicity over this.
To top it all off, while she was ‘processing’ the exchange, she said, (to her colleague), “I better do a return with no receipt, hadn’t I?”
Yes, that’s right, she said, “I better do a return with no receipt, hadn’t I?”
After all that nonsense about “We have to have a receipt”, she unwittingly conceded that she could do an exchange WITHOUT a receipt!
OOOOPS!
All this took place in front of several astonished customers!
Hilarious doesn’t even come close!

Ignorant don't buy from here. Ordered a men's shirt and after countless emails to EWM and Evri still no shirt apparently package is lost more like stolen as Evri is known for thieving parcels
Not what they use to be
Edinburgh Woolen Mill garments use to be really good quality but over the last couple of years the quality of their knitted items has definitely deteriorated, the last few sweaters I have purchased have pilled. I use to work in a fabric testing laboratory and know that this is would be due to the mixture of fibres they are using.

Don't use, should be zero stars, order placed 18th December, click and collect at Tavistock, Evri (who else) tried to deliver 21st 7pm to a shop surprised they are shut! Then evri proceed to mess around a further 2 days, now saying delivery address incomplete. How shocking bad service from both companies. Edinburgh don't even respond to emails. I wil speak to credit card company to try and get money back. Shocking avoid. TAVISTOCK SHOP ALSO NO HELP. AVOID
Refused to exchange
I bought a jumper online and even with the proof of purchase the Edinburgh Mill shop in Melton Mowbray refused to exchange the item, terrible service in fact shocking. I will never use this store again.
Exceptional staff, EWM Worthing, West Sussex
My husband and I are frequent visitors to EWM in Worthing, West Sussex. So I thought it was time to write a review. We love the clothes etc but what really makes this branch, a cut above the rest, is the genuinely helpful shop assistants, Moira and Simi... Thank you for always being so helpful, personable and informative. You don't get service like that much anymore so thank you for making the experiences always pleasurable x

My daughter went to the new store in Largs twice and was treated very rudely. She has bought items there but was very displeased with the service. She is on the autistic spectrum but is very bright and used to love going to the EWM as a child as we often took her as did her grandparents. She attempted to make polite conversation ( two days in a row- a second chance) and yet she was treated appallingly. I tried to phone repeatedly to no avail. I tried the head office and got the usual voice recording from and American sounding womand and of course- no response. I must have spent thousands over the years at EWM but will never darken their threshold ever again. This chain quite rightfully deserves to fail.
NOBODY ANSWERS YOU
Made several orders from the EWM (whose shops sell very good quality Scottish goods) but their online presence is TERRIBLE. They cancelled an order for 2 shirts and a pair of trousers and never replied to my online request for a reason. The only reason I knew it was cancelled was because they emailed from EWM giving me a refund ! However, a shirt for £35 arrived and the customs duty was €16=£13.45 that’s 38.5% TAX ! I suspect that’s including the TAX on the parcel we DID NOT RECEIVE. Eventually we found from EWM that it had been returned because the TAX was not payed. We NEVER received any notifications from the French post. I hope TRUMP imposes tarifs on France.
The 12 Days of Christmas Offers are 20% but when we tried to order 3 jumpers it was showing ONLY 10% OFF.

Gave up ordering online
I tried to order a Christmas present cashmere cardigan. At every attempt (Safari/Mac, Chrome/Mac, Safari/iPadOS and Safari/iOS) to pay the autofill of credit cards doesn't work. It loads the cardholder's name, the expiry data and the CVC but not the card number. I use this feature all the time on other sites. To add insult to injury, the payment page says EWM accepts Apple Pay but no option is presented, only credit/debit card or Paypal. Have given up and will look for an alternative.
