If I had the option to give no star rating I would. The biggest mistake ever to hire this company to do my solar panel install. Was meant to complete the first week of Feb. As part of the deal, they agreed to refelt my roof at a cost of £2500 as there would be no v.a.t. They've completed the install, however, they've gone against their promise to do my roof felt. If I've phoned them once, I've phoned them more than 30 times. I'm a 68 year old army veteran and all this has had an awful affect on my mental health. My life's been on hold for the past 5 months.

Terrible customer service and just as shocking after care. Scaffolding was left up on my house for months after install. When installing the “van keeps breaking down so it will be next week for your solar installation” very frustrating there was a lot of BS on the telephone with management.

I went around 13 different solar companies assessing items such as: different panels, batteries and after sales support. Price was important but for me it was advise support and talking with people that came across what they knew what they were on about.
Right from the first call Chris ticked all the boxes, we discussed the approach and they organised everything.
Like all good intention not everything goes to plan… but the team at FDG tried their hardest to get it right. When the team came they did a great neat and tidy job of getting everything set up. The equipment was Aiko panels and EcoFlow Ocean batteries and inverter. Great job from Steve, John, Chris, Ian and Craig

I have just had a Worcester Bosch heat pump fitted by FDG group and I would recommend them to anyone, they went above and beyond to complete the installation and the quality of work by Jon the installer was second to none, they were recommended to me by another one of there customers and that is why word and mouth is the best way to find good professional tradesman, a big thank you to your team

Great service from start to finish. Installed within the first week. Very knowledgeable and happy to talk you through the process. Asked to install on the front of my property and it’s a great look.

Fdg group did an amazing job installing solar battery and an air source heat pump on my property. From the initial meeting to the install itself everything went perfect. Couldn’t recommend them enough. All I can say is give them a call and see what they can do!

It is now 3 months since my Google review of FDG Group on 02/09/24 and I now feel it is appropriate to provide a follow-up.
The first contact with FDG Group after posting the last review was the following day when the CEO messaged me to ask me to take down the review as it was delaying his re-certification with MCS. In my response I asked him to let me know what I had included in my review that was not true. He was unable to answer this as every word of the review is the truth, supported by extensive evidence, which he knows.
When the FDG CEO said in his message that my review was delaying his re-certification I took this to mean that he was getting some kind of regular compliance audit done by MCS and that a review of the nature that I had left could delay them reissuing his accreditation. I am not sure on the details of what, if anything was really happening at that time with the MCS accreditation body but what I have subsequently found out is that FDG Group have not had MCS accreditation since early March 2024. The FDG CEO unfortunately failed to mention this when he took the job on in April 2024 despite the MCS accreditation logo being emblazoned on the contract that both he and I signed. The implications of this are that the solar pv panel installation that FDG have installed for us cannot be certified. I have spoken with MCS to look at ways of getting the installation certified, maybe by an independent MCS accredited contractor, unfortunately this is not permitted under scheme rules. In order to get the system certified it has to be installed by an MCS accredited installer – something that I was falsely led to believe FDG Group were. MCS have even said that if FDG Group regain their MCS accreditation, they will not be able to issue the MCS certificates for my job as they were not accredited at the time of installation.
Due to the lack of certificates, the multiple other issues that we have experienced with FDG Group and the lack of response from the CEO or anyone else at FDG who can actually progress things to an agreeable outcome, I took the decision to contact the alternative dispute resolution provider that is mentioned in the FDG Contract for our works. The contract clearly states that if it is not possible to resolve a dispute then the customer should refer the matter to The Ombudsman Service Limited via HIES. HIES is a consumer protection organisation covering the installation of home energy products such as solar panels, air source heat pumps etc. Unfortunately when I spoke with HIES, they confirmed that FDG Group have not been a member since 09/01/2024, despite their logo, along with the MCS logo, being included on FDG branded stationery. When I found this out I felt, and continue to feel, very much as though I have been conned here. The FDG CEO was quite happy to see me unwittingly sign up to a contract and pay money for FDG to install solar pv and solar thermal panel systems that could never be certified because at the time of signing the contract (April 2024), and to this date (02/12/24), FDG Group do not have the basic MCS accreditation required.
I feel completely gutted by this whole experience. To date I have paid over £14,000, have no certificates (MCS or BS7671 electrical safety certificates) and we still have a list of outstanding issues and defective works. I do not want to see anyone else lose out in a similar fashion. This is my reason for publishing these reviews. It is worth adding that I contacted the Trustatrader organisation, whose logo also appears on the contract I signed, to flag up my experiences to them. Unfortunately they said they could not assist me as FDG Group are not currently members of the Trustatrader scheme!
My advice for anyone looking to get home energy products installed is to do your own due diligence very thoroughly. Do not take the company’s word for it when you see the logos of accreditation bodies on their website or stationery – check with the accreditation body yourself to be sure. The FDG CEO came across as being very helpful and plausible and his guys were friendly and tried in their own way to be helpful however at the end of the day they are simply not able to deliver the works that they purport to.

FDG installed our heat pump system and as we were having our house renovated at the same time, they worked with our builder to achieve the timescale we needed, and they dealt with any changes we asked for without fuss
I can definitely recommend them the fitting and service was friendly and helpful

Fitting netting stopped pigeons nesting underneath the solar panels, but a persistant problem remained with them roosting between the top of the panels and our dormer window! The only solution was to have anti-bird spikes fitted in that space and around the edges of the panels. This has worked! I would advise discussing netting and spikes at the time of installation to avoid incurring additional costs and an accumulation of pigeon mess. The team did a great job when fitting the spikes, cleaning the panels and removing as much of the mess as possible, including from the guttering (which had become blocked). A job well done over a good number of hours. The team were extremely professional and remained cheerful throughout, despite the unpleastness of the work clearing up the mess!

A friendly and reliable company, they made the installation process easy and straight forward. Moreover, their support and service care is second to none. I would and have recommended FDG for Heating/Solar.

Purchased 14 panels, inverter, battery, and ASHP for a new build project this summer. The turnaround was surprisingly quick, with support from their installation partners. As a solar consultancy, they were really helpful and had little to no problems designs the way I wanted them and I even opted for a GSE inlay roof kit because it looks a lot neater. Their roofer was a good lad, and really careful with my tiles.

After a good experience with my solar installation, I decided to upgrade my home with underfloor heating and upgraded my Air Source Heat Pump to a Worcester Bosch. Jon and his team were amazing. They were very efficient helping me understand the design process and left my home nice and tidy.

We recently decided to have our battery/inverter moved from the loft to our utility room downstairs. Many thanks to Steve A, Chris and Steve who did a first rate job, they took time to explain what would happen and were considerate, caring and very tidy in their work. Although they could not complete the job on the first day due to a longer than anticipated cable run, when they did return they produced a very professional job. System back up and running very well. Big thanks also to Darryl in the office who coordinated the job. Recommend the FDG team.

Got a quote from Fdg back in October last year. At the time they had MCS was a member of HIES so all was good. Paid my deposit and pre install fee. Planned an install date and they didn’t show up. This happened another 5 times. Discovers to my horror since the quote they have been removed from the MCS scheme. Tried to cancel my contract with them but the owner refused to give my deposit back and insisted they will have there MCS back. After negations with HIES and the ombudsman I was I had to give FDG a chance to finish my install as original contract. They finally completed the install in March this year. But still not given me a MCS.Electrical safety cert or building regs notification. They do not respond to any emails or any form of contact. People need to be aware they lost there MCS on 17th November 2023 and anyone who had an install after this date will not get a MCS. This has been confirmed my MCS and anyone can check this themselves by raising a ticket with MCS. If FDG tell you otherwise it’s a lie (which you get constantly from FDG). I gave FDG a 1 star review last year back in November which they asked me to remove and promised the earth. But they have delivered nothing just more lies and I won’t be removing this one. FDG phone lines are down at the moment and have been for over 2 weeks not long ago they were unable to accept credit card payment. Make your own conclusions about that. No doubt some one from FDG will reply to this with more lies. But people be aware I can’t speak for validity of the positive reviews. But this has been my experience. People be aware. I am reposting this review because FDG had it removed they obviously don’t want you to know how they operate

We have been customers of FDG since 2020. It has been reassuring to be dealing with the same people in that time. The engineers have a wealth of knowledge about the ASHP. Chris Jeffery, often picks up the phone, is always courteous and goes out of his way to resolve a query. Thank you for servicing our heat pump this year as well.

When our boiler broke we were undecided about having an air-source heat pump installed. FDG were very good at explaining the system and put us in touch with another customer to discuss their experience. They also processed the grant efficiently and installed the pump quickly. This was useful as we had no heating.

I used FDG for a heat pump and solar panel install. They did a good job on both. Their expertise and knowledge is particularly helpful with the heat pump, as it's vital for a successful heat pump install that it's designed correctly for the house in question. There was one issue during the install but the company worked with me to sort it out. Yesterday they serviced the heat pump and again did a thorough job. Happy to recommend.

After a complex installation, I must say that FDG's aftercare support is second to none. Some months ago, one of my optimisers on my SolarEdge went down, and they came out, set up the scaffolding, and replaced it all very quickly and at a very reasonable cost. Thank you. FDG said my review was illegal which is totally untrue do not trust this company to do anything 4 years on we cannot afford to use our heast pump to heat our home at one point it was £700 a month they have zero aftercare nor show any interest.

They claim i havent paid the full bill which is a total unfounded lie they left holes in the walls and cables all over the place definastely not a company I 3ould ever use or reccomend.

"We want to address your specific concerns and make things right." youve been sasying this for years youve never copntacted me youve offered beer for me to renmove reviews, meanwhile im left with a system that costs a fortune to run no instructions and huge bills.

thats right john was an excellent guy who at the time of sales and installation was a great guy this was all before my electric bills were as much as £700 to run the system for a month .

I was lied to about the running costs my house is not insulated like YOU said it should be your owner steve was given 2 leads to possible sles and said the deposit didnt have to be paid.

Please refrain from lying its doesnt do you or your company any justice I do hope if anyone wants to use you in future they contact me for info on the highly expensive running costs of the system you ins
talled.

Short version: We highly recommend the FDG group for all your solar and battery installation needs. FDG group also provide excellent after-care and actively follow up issues to resolution.

Long version: April 2023 we had the below installed:
1. FoxESS hybrid inverter (H1-5-E) with 16 panels.
2. FoxESS batteries (ECS4300H-2).
3. Solis S5 1kW mini inverter with 4 panels.
4. Tigo optimisers due to shading across all roof spaces at different time of the day.

The install was done to a high standard, promptly and FDG ensured that our slightly complex setup (due to a long cable run) performed well. They provided the required MSC and G99 paperwork as soon as it became available (the DNO took sometime to respond in our case due to the high volume of applications at the time).

Our net energy costs have been reduced to about £25 to £30 per month (including that we will be charging the battery with cheap rate energy during the winter). With roughly 4.5MWH of generation per year.

We are very pleased with the install.

Recently the Solis mini inverter developed an intermittent fault and FDG group have come out to check the system and decided to replace that 1kW mini inverter with a 2kW version all under warranty and without fuss.
