Less than 2 months ago: I had a cyst removed from one of our rescue cats and I had a very unpleasant experience.
At first, when you enter the clinic: there is BLACK MOLD everywhere! I understand that it is a humid climate but this is a health and safety matter for the people and animals there. I mean: is it really so hard to clean it up with a special product and pay for some renovation/sanitation work? I guess they don't bother spending money on that.
When we got our cat out of the operation- they didn't even use an absorbent pad in the cage! I have lived in many countries and used different veterinarians- and they ALWAYS use post-op absorbent pads for the animal. When in the car- I saw that my poor baby was inside his piss and vomit. Also part of the canyle was left in his transport box...🙄
Upon the investigation at home- his wound was closed with the staples and one under his arm- was very padly put, half loose. So after few days, I started to notice opening his wound and I could see inside! So I left a voicemessage with a picture of his wound to their Whatsapp number, because it was a weekend. Asking what to do?! Noone EVER answered!!! Do not expect them to care, if you've got an emergency AFTER the operation!
So on Monday after calling and explaining- we got another appointment for Tuesday.
OK...
My poor baby was all this time with badly closed wound oozing smelly liquid.
So in the clinic, surgeon Martin looked at his wound and said he will close it again and probably will only need a local anasthesia, "about 40 minutes", he said. And that they will call us when ready. Nothing about that he will charge for it, AGAIN.
So me we went off, waited more than FEW HOURS, NOONE CALLED us to advice that he will be longer in the operation or is ready. So we went back to the clinic to see what is happening...
Oh, so he WAS actually ready?! The cold (probably over-stressed and under-paid) receptionist girl brought our fur baby and charged us!!! I completely lost my pits, I mean: what the hell?! At first they make a lousy job closing the wound properly, you need to return: and they charge you for closing it, AGAIN? So basically: 0 responsability?! So when I tried to explain my frustration to Martin: he started to yell and said, if I don't pay then never come back again! And he run off to the next operation, not even bothering discussing it like a professional normal human being.
Because: THEY ARE NOT.
So we paid anyway, as I didn't even care about it anymore and just wanted to take our poor baby back home, no absorbent pad again in his cage and they don't probably even have a heated post-op recovery room/cages, like other veterinarians have.
Also, few years ago, I was there with the same cat and did analysis for him and now: she said, they don't have it anymore in their system because they upgraded it. LIKE WHAT? Never mind I paid for it back then...
If you TRULY LOVE your fur baby: AVOID THIS CLINIC AT ALL COST!
They always do the same thing: give you an appointment but how come before you- are another 4 people waiting, even you've got there the first hour or so?! What they do is: to slam as many appointments as close as possible, in order to make the most of the profit. And you WAIT there, even you got on time: you WAIT WITH YOUR SUFFERING BABY, who hasn't eaten for 12 hours and don't understand why mummy is doing this to him...🥺😣
This clinic do not care about the animals, especially the cats (if you pay a close attention, you'll notice how dog orientated they are).
Even this clinic's plants are half dead and full of plague...🙄
And I will never understand how come the vets (still?) sell this overpriced, full of animal by-products, cereals and soy: "Royal Canin" crap, which also tests=tortures kittens and puppies in the cages! (Another nasty ones is the: "Hill's" but there are many. Just do your own research)
We live in the fake, greedy, full of ignorance and cruelty, materialistic, capitalistic, fast consumeristic society. A factory.
And this clinic is no different: A FAST MONEY FACTORY.
Oh and I heard, that they used (still use?) an actual (which is a toxic plastic) fishing line for closing the animal wounds...🙄 Did they teach that also in your veterinary studies in South America?! 🙄 (as she always keeps repeating that she studied 6 years of medicine, when you try to explain also your knowledge on natural alternatives. For example, few years ago, when one of my cats had a cystitis and I said that cranberry extract help and she didn't really agree with me.)
P.S. And for the wound cleaner: use natural and safe HYPOCHLOROUS ACID, not the toxic crap (which also kills the healthy tissue cells) they recommend.
WAKE UP. AND THINK.
🙈🙉🙊
