I wanted to upgrade my X100T, but prices for used X100F and X100V models seemed high. When the X100VI was announced, for not much more money it was obviously the model to go for, but availability looked to be a problem. The Ffordes ad said 'phone for availability, so I did, the gentleman was able to tell me how many people were on the waiting list for the black and the silver models. I paid a deposit and only about three weeks later I had a call to say a camera was available for me - I'd expected to wait for perhaps months. I've used Ffordes a number of times previously, mainly for film camera bodies and lenses, always without problems, so I'd recommend them without hesitation. GP West Midlands.

First time purchasing any used photography equipment. I had always previously hesitated, given how much kit costs without physically seeing it. After finding a used Sony 135mm F1.8 GM lens on the Ffordes site, described as "Mint" condition, I gave them a call to discuss the lens. I spoke to a very helpful Ross, who described the lens over the phone. He gave me confidence that the lens was indeed in mint condition and reassurances one buying used equipment. I decided to go for it and Ross took the order over the phone with next day delivery. Item has just arrived and I couldn't be happier. Superb service and a lens in mint condition. I will certainly consider purchasing used equipment from them again in the future. Also looking forward to popping in their store next time I'm passing that way. A very very happy customer! :)

I just wanted to thank Alister Bowie of Ffordes for so kindly persevering with answering all my multiple questions along my journey to choosing the right camera and accessories to meet my outdoor adventuring and UK mainland occasional faint aurora borealis capturing. I've now made the order for a camera and tripod and hope to be soon photographing polar bears and glaciers in Svalbard, maybe even some Northern Lights if I get very lucky.

I was very impressed by the friendly, knowledgeable and professional service I received yesterday when I rang to order a pre-owned leather pouch for my M-camera and collapsible lens for hiking and rural architecture photography. The assistant talked me over the details of the item thoroughly and answered my questions in a calm non-pressuring way. The cost was a third of what a European shop was charging, yet the item was in perfect condition and arrived this morning promptly, sensibly packed and protected.
Brilliant service. Every time I go out with the camera in this accessory pouch I shall feel good as the purchase experience was so positive.

I had been looking for a specific type of used DSLR for some time before I located exactly what I wanted on Ffordes’ website. My telephone call was picked up promptly by a human (!) and my few questions were answered most satisfactorily. I requested a day’s delay on delivery and once I had the tracking number I was able to see that my camera was on its way, delivered the day I had requested with everything that had been promised. All in all an excellent buying experience for a long sought after piece of equipment.

I knew of Ffordes reputation because of Mark Littlejohn’s warm words about them, so finding myself on the Isle of Harris with a missing battery charger they were my first port of call for help. Excellent response, they found me a second hand universal charger that with the Heath Robinson addition of an old memory card to wedge the battery in place worked a treat. Posted straight away and all sorted. Simply brilliant - thank you!

I recently purchased a Leica IIIF BD Rangefinder 35mm Camera (circa 1951). As there are many pitfalls to purchasing a 75-year-old camera, I called & spoke with "John". I am by no means a photography "expert" - I consider myself, more of a "happy amateur". John took the time to not only answer all of my various questions but also, imparted his knowledge surrounding issues that were unknown to me. I was so impressed & reassured by this, I purchased the 50mm lens as well. If you are like me, a little lacking in the "knowledge department" & would appreciate honest & jargon-free answers, this is the shop for you. The camera arrived the next day. Excellent service throughout & I wouldn't hesitate to both recommend & return as a customer.

Ordered a tripod off their web site. Heard nothing for several day then phoned. They could not find the tripod in their shop. I had to pay another £10 for another tripod that they could find.
Why did they not let me know of these problems? I had to phone up. Not good customer service.

Recently Ffordes finished selling my Nikon camera equipment at the prices they said they could get for it. Even after they had taken their commission and collection charges I was still over £200 better off than I would have been if I had sold to a different but well known used and new camera trader.

Ffordes were easy to deal with and gave great instructions. They sold all 4 lenses and 1 body within 4 months despite them being cropped sensor DSLR technology which is falling from favour as new buyers tend to go mirrorless now.

As each sale happened their accounts team kept me up to date with the details of what sold and financial transfer to my account.

I thoroughly recommend Ffordes, a great team.
