Glad I found this place - client for life
I made an appointment online at Fyi doctors at 95 Rymal Road West in Hamilton. It was easy to do and I got an appointment within a couple of days. The office was clean and well organized. The staff were friendly and seemed happy to be there. I waited just a few minutes for Dr. Carolyn Kwiat to welcome me and being a very thorough eye exam. I immediately felt comfortable with the doctor's manner and professionalism. We had a thorough discussion regarding my prior eye issues resulting in thoughtful & insightful recommendations. I chose two different pairs of glasses, (one progressive lens, the other readers) with the help of staff. They billed my insurance company directly which is convenient. Within two weeks I picked up my glasses and am a very happy client for life. I would highly recommend this particular office and can't say enough positive things about the wonderful staff. Thank you!
Started with a mis diagnosis....twice!
Started with a mis diagnosis....twice!
I supplied rayban franes, they broke them. They couldn't get the same frame for the new lens. I tracked down the new frame. Now we are into the 2nd month. Got them back and they gouged the frame getting the lens in!! They now found another rayban frame! Sent off to Van/Calgary? Twice the prescription was in error. Big strain and slower to focus with the first 2 lens. Another 2/3 weeks. On and on. I got another independent review done. I went back to FYI Halifax and Dr. It has to end!!! Go back to another prescription! Got the lens elsewhere. 3 months!!! With the many stories, miscommunication and overall No Customer/Patient Care...i have a Loss of confidence with the staff. No trust now. Buyer beware.

Second mistake, two weeks later called to get status of delivery. Oops, order just sent out. What? Need to wait another two weeks. Patience is a virtue. Will not talk about the customer service attitude asking for updates. I am a nice person. Nice and Patient, WOW. Do customers satisfy business or is it the other way around?

Have been to the location @ College Park in downtown Toronto for the eye exam and was very impressed and satisfied with the service from Dr. Kaitlyn Koo and the optometric assistant Annie .The individual care,experience and knowledge of Annie’s 35 years in the field, really helped me in purchasing a new pair of glasses. Looking forward to my next visit.

Eye issue they set aside such a service as a triage appt for emergencies. FYI are brilliant at what they do. Dr. M. Barry is brilliant and so thankful we have such a wonderful knowledge of expertise like hers on the river. Hands on, puts you at ease and has the best rapport. Dr. M. Barry is truly talented in her field of work. I now see clearer and at ease knowing she’s just a phone call

the staff was very help full and friendly, made you feel comfortable, the office was very clean, and everyone greeted me with a smile, Kim was exceptional with me and made the choices for new glasses very easy

I am not a patient, however, FYI Doctors in Canmore, have been brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble and their customer service is friendly, engaging, and their understanding is excellent.
Possible early-stage retinal…
Possible early-stage retinal detachment, zero appointments available in the city except… Dr. Harry Prizant worked me in as an emergency case with two hours notice.
I am in awe of his easy, comfortable, confident, reassuring bedside and hallway manner, instantly evident from when he saw me for a spit second from 30 ft away in his hallway, a walk-in stranger at his reception desk, and he paused and waved and smiled.
This man likes people, and he likes making them well by solving their problems. In my direct experience he has, and lives by, high and most-admirable ethical principles, revealed in the genuineness of our small talk conversation as he was examining me, in the way he introduced himself to other patients and reassured them, and in the way his business treated me personally.
Excellent assistants and desk staff, like being treated by family, as corny as that sounds.
A true 10/10 experience, five stars isn't enough.
Helpful kind optical associate
The optical associate that helped me pick out a new pair of glasses was thorough, thoughtful and considerate. I am grateful for the good care I receive through FYI doctors.
Officious and Arrogant
I had my eyes checked by Dr Jessica Stewart at FYIdoctors in Bracebridge Ontario. She was officious and arrogant. I do not recomment this business or this doctor. BTW their glasses are ridiculously expensive.

Walked into the store with some enquiries. Not a regular customer. It was busy. Waited my turn. All my questions were answered patiently, totally, compassionately and thoroughly. Plus I ended up getting my glasses fixed for free. Bonus!
FYI in Humboldt SK Poor Customer Service
FYI in Humboldt SK has very poor customer service. It has been over a month since I ordered my glasses and I still don’t have the second pair. I ordered 2 of the identical frames and only one came. Fully paid for of course. Getting the office staff to respond to requests and call back is exceptionally poor. I’m very disappointed in them. Will not purchase from them again.

Jill Keddy at FYidoctors made my day on my visit there on Friday .I had a particularly difficult adjustment to make to my silhouette glass frame.If she did not do it correctly the lens could crack.Thanks to her expertise and patience she was able to correct it and my glasses were now sitting straight on my face again. She also cleanred them and all this with a smile. She is a real asset to her employer ,a great ambassador for FYi and deserved recognition. A raise would be a nice gesture!
Poor Product...Will fail after warranty
I am have worn glasses for over 30 years and find the product at FYI to be inferior and faulty. The lenses I purchased 4 years ago failed just after the warranty expired due to the film on the lens failing and separating from the lens. It appeared as tiny striations across the lens that made it impossible to see clearly and dangerous to wear. They did not acknowledge any responsibility and convinced me that it was a rare occurrence and maybe just a bad batch. I purchased a second pair in faith that it was not going to happen again and asked them not to add anything to coat the lens. They did as I asked and provided me with a new pair at $400. Guess what? They failed again in the same way, a couple months after warranty expired. FYI said it was not their problem and refused to do anything again. They use faulty and inferior product knowing full well that it is going fail and bring you back for more. Unfortunately for them, I will never go back and fall for there poor products and service ever again.
Thorough and Knowledgeable
The optometrist: Dr Alex Xiao, listened to my concerns and did a thorough exam. She explained everything that was happing to my eyesight. She is a good eye doctor
The receptionist “ Cassidy “ was very good at her job. She was polite, very helpful and very knowledgeable about the product I was purchasing.

The entire staff at this location is fantastic and Shayna, in particular, is extremely fun to deal with and helpful in making sure you're 100% happy with your new glasses before walking out the door. Highly recommended.
Went to the FYI at Tacoma drive
Went to the FYI at Tacoma drive, worst customer service ever, one girl got up and blew a bubble with her gum than popped it, there just terrible, always give me prescriptions that do not work for me, strained for 2 years because of it, said there was a freckle on my eye and to come back every year, asked if provincial health would cover, they said they will call if call me back, they never did, seems to me they are trying to get more money out of you, I have benefits and always have to more money towards the exam and glasses. I have good coverage too. I am looking for a new optical place to go, this one is horrible

Went to FYI Doctors at Tacoma in Dartmouth and had my eye exam done a little over a year ago. I never got new glasses because I didn't need any, my eyes had been pretty stable for over 10 years. Just recently went to get new glasses and found out the prescription they gave me was completely wrong for me, I can't use the glasses at all as I cannot see with them on. FYI refuses to do anything about it or recheck my eyes. Even though they obviously made a mistake. I would not recommend going there.
