We went to look at a few rings which are due to be auctioned. Carole was really helpful and took the time to find the ones we had seen online.

Enjoyable experience with Lizzy from Gerrards. Trying to sell some of my jewellery which I no longer use. Comments on the silver jewellery were fair. Unfortunately some of the items were quoted on the scrap value of the silver so it was better to take these home and have a rethink about what to do with them.

Very friendly and helpful. No pressure to sell transaction quick and easy. Lizzy was very pleasant and explained every step along the way.

Simon and Dave did an excellent job of going through my mother's house and advising us on what was likely to sell at auction. Everything selected was packed up well and they both acted with courtesy and professionalism. Simon spent a considerable amount of time assessing jewellery. An excellent service.

Popped in to see the ladies who came to my local library about selling a few pieces. Wonderful service, warm and welcoming and made everything so straight forward!

Happily sold a ring and a few bracelets and got cash in hand right there.

We met with Lizzy early this evening. She was easy to deal with knowledgeable and honest with us.
Would recommend anyone who’s thinking about it to go along, you don’t have to sell and they’ll be honest with you in relation to items.
We sold quite a few items and others we didn’t.

I took some costume jewellery and other bits and bobs of silver plate along to the nearby venue. I didn't expect them to be of much value, but you never know.
However, the attitude of the valuer could have been more of 'I'm very sorry, these are not the kind of things we want as they are of little monetary value' and less of the "no good to us" abrupt style that I was met with.
Some of these things had memories attached to them, so I would have preferred a more compassionate, less dismissive summing up.

Came in for viewing day yesterday, always a pleasure and good customer service especially from Rebekah, Dog friendly too, which is always a plus !

LEIGHANNE provides excellent customer service which is highly professional and knowledgable . She is a real asset to Gerrards and we have personally experienced how good she is regarding telephone bidding - simply superb .

I went to the Auction rooms this morning. I took some jewellery belonging to my late aunt mostly costume, and 3 mens watches. I spoke to Simon, the valuer, who looked through it all.I decided to sell, rather than auction, and was stunned by the large amount he offered. I didn't think I would get anything like what he gave me. The money is going to Cancer research. If anyone has anything to sell or auction do use Gerrards, this is the second time I've used them, and can't speak highly enough of them.

We have visited Mosborough Hall, Sheffield the past 2 Saturdays, We had excellent service from Lizzy. It was a pleasure doing business, a very nice lady to meet.

Staff were pleasant, and assisted me in a swift and efficient manner. Location is stunning, and the building is beautiful. Plenty of bargains and intricate works of art to be discovered, and collected.

Very happy with my last purchases, delivery was quick and well packed, will definitely be using Gerrards again in the near future.

Sadly, after buying from Gerrards in the past, selling items seems to be a different matter. Knowing the auction climate at the moment I took great care in sending enquiries via email with all items fully photographed and information given, particularly on the original art work. I stated in my first email that we would require no reserve on any items as they were not high end. I was messaged back and informed that they would be happy to sell the items, that they were low value but you would "gladly" try and sell them for us. Both my husband and I being ill, awaiting heart operation, we journeyed to St Anne's with the items. On arriving we were treated with disdain by one receptionist and told that Gerrards "do not sell prints" I told her our visit was arranged and that these were all originals she said "pictures don't sell...we have hundreds of pictures". Again I said that we had an arrangement. A second lady then came out to see us and said that "sorry, pictures are not selling" and indicated that we should take them away I then had to get messages up to show her the agreement and she said well yes we can put them all in a job lot for you (approx 15 assorted named artists) this was unacceptable and a complete waste of our efforts and time. We ended up taking back all items brought and will not use Gerrards again. It was apparent to me that unless you are selling very high end items then you are not welcome. Our reception was frosty and there was an element of pretentiousness not seen at other auction houses. There was clearly a conflict of communication between the ones who make the decisions and those at the front desk. We will stick with larger mainstream auctioneers from now on where all are welcome.

The postage service provided by Gerrards Auction Rooms is over priced. I was charged £27 to post a gold ring weighing 3 grams. The cost of Royal Mail special delivery, fully insured was £7.35. Gerrard’s charged £19.65 to provide the service.
Other auction house are able to provide the same service for much less cost.

Fellows auction house provides free postage!!!

I am more than happy to pay for postage and packing at a fair price but this was over priced for such a small item.

As they suggest “you are able to find an alternative postage service” but it is not until the bill arrives you are informed of the postage cost and I was too busy to start investigating alternative services.

I emailed Gerrards about the over priced postage cost but they did not respond to my emails.

I will not be buying from Gerrards in the future.
