Bought a brand new 2024 3500 Denali
Bought a brand new 2024 3500 Denali, the truck has been breaking down every 3 months since. The most recent breakdowns were in Texas and Colorado. Truck broke down in the Dallas area, transmission completely failed, could not get to Vegas with my haul. Went to 5 dealerships in the area, some were closed on Saturday, some were open with one guy behind the service desk doing nothing. I was told that no technicians were on site and that they will re open only Tuesday. No dealership was able to provide me a courtesy vehicle as well. I still haven got any refund and compensation for that major break down (travel expenses, heavy truck rentals…) I picked up the truck in Texas, the very next day the transmission was acting out again but I was able to make it to Las Vegas. Stopped by my dealership regarding the issue, was told that the truck needed to be driven for a month so the transmission could synchronized with some modules and sensors. After a month I went to Colorado, transmission failed again and the top of it, there is a also a big leak underneath the engine, the master cylinder leaks as well…the truck is just falling apart. Took the truck to the nearest dealership in Denver, was told they will look at it in 7 days….then a few days later got a phone call from them to tell me that they won’t look at the truck for weekS… unbelievable!
I called the GMC customer service and got the truck towed to another dealership that was supposed to look at the truck on Monday…. then same BS, got a phone call about three weeks ago to letting me know that they will only look at the truck on the 8th….
Haven’t heard from the dealer since so I called today to check in on the repairs…. The Dealership can’t find my truck !!! They never had it ! The truck is nowhere to be found, called multiple dealerships, GMC towing assistance, GMC customer service… nobody has answers and they just don’t care.
I am still trying to get compensation for the breakdown in Texas, trying to get compensation for the breakdown in Colorado, trying to get my truck repurchased and now trying to locate my truck… it’s just been a nightmare.
My case manager Allie is incompetent, she sounds like she is 12 and just apologized on the phone in repeat mode, I think she is AI !
GMC is supposed to be the top of the top…. Well it’s not !
It’s time to lawyer up
Worst vehicle experience.
Owning a GM vehicle has been the worst vehicle experience of my life. I purchased a brand new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 in July of 2023 because GMC was supposed to be best of the best. Within 7 months of owning the vehicle, all of the cameras stopped working. I got them repaired under warranty only to have them fail again and again. I found out I could remove the camera fuse and reinsert it to get them working. I did that repeatedly until that didn't work anymore. I took it into GMC to be fixed for a second time, they fixed them and charged me for that work, only to have the cameras fail again. I had a GMC service team inspect the cameras for a third time while performing a total engine replacement (more to come on that).
Their findings AFTER completing a total engine replacement were that the cameras work fine, and they didn't have any explanation as to why they were magically working again. The cameras worked for two weeks before going out again. Now GMC wants me to pay to get the entire camera module replaced. This was a lemon part, and it is the responsibility of GMC to replace it.
On top of camera struggles, GMC decided to create one horrible feature and exclude one necessary feature on the 2023 Sierra models. The horrible feature was a new wheel lock that is unique to each vehicle and has no master key in all of GMC. So, when a GMC service team decided to keep my wheel lock key during a tire rotation service, I was left stranded with a flat tire that could not be removed. GMC's only solution was to break the wheel off the truck and have me pay for a brand new one. But don't worry, after paying $1,500 for a new wheel and being out of commission while traveling for 3 days, the GMC service team who kept my wheel lock keys mailed them back to me. I never should have had to pay out of pocket for an issue created by a GMC service team's negligence.
The feature GMC decided not to include on this truck (because it is supposed to be the best of the best and never fail) was the ability to shift into neutral when the engine won't start. Well, my 18 month old, $72,000 GMC Sierra had its engine turn off while I was driving and needed to be towed. The AAA team that GMC employs for towing refused to tow my vehicle because this feature did not exist and they were unwilling to drag the vehicle for fear of liability for powertrain damage. I was stranded on a dangerous stretch of highway for 4 hours waiting for tow trucks to appear and refuse to tow. Eventually, highway patrol had to force someone to tow my vehicle.
On top of all of that, is the engine replacement. While towing a travel trailer (the specific task these vehicles are advertised for), my engine turned off. No warning, no sputtering, no weird noises. Just turned off, and I had to use momentum to pull to the side of the road. I had to wait a full 4 days including a weekend to have a GMC shop tell me the ignition fuse needed replacing. They charged me $900 for that and sent me on my way STATING they did not know why that part would cause the engine to turn off. Less than 50 minutes after leaving the GMC service shop, my engine turned off while I was driving. This time in a much more dangerous area where I was not able to pull off the road. (The towing story has already been told.) On this second evaluation, it took them one day to tell me it would be a total engine replacement, and they would have to fly a new engine from Michigan to Seattle. Their system said it would take 4 days for the new engine to arrive, so they told me to expect it to take 2 weeks. Nine weeks later, the work would be done. Four weeks in, I asked to start the reimbursement process as the rental car costs were becoming too burdensome. They assigned me to a backordered parts team who was going to set me up on monthly reimbursements. 14 weeks later, I have not received a dime of the nearly $6,000 that I am owed in reimbursement.

Mark Wahlberg GMC experience
Purchased an SUV through a broker out of state. At first things were going smoothly and the saleswoman was very with communicating and sending pictures or videos. Issues started when scheduling to deliver the SUV started, the trucker was very rude and mishandled the delivery date as I was away on vacation forcing my neighbors to go out of their way and assist, the dealership and broker kept blaming each other promising I would be reimbursed or given monetary benefits for my inconvenience - this was in December and I am still waiting on word of the promised wire.
After I received the vehicle I asked the dealership twice and the broker regarding my license plate being told it was coming. The temporary plate expired and I was pulled over by the police for not having a plate. I was then sent a form to sign for out of state plate - I asked why this wasn't completed or requested earlier in the process to no response, 2 weeks or so after filling out the paperwork I still didn't receive the plate and was told it would be quicker if I just get it myself. Once again I was promised monetary compensation for going to DMV - which took 4 hours during work week - and paying for the plate myself. It has been over a month or 2 since and still no word on the 2nd wire that was promised. I am sure the plate fee was in my initial purchase so I likely had to pay twice. Car is great, the communication has been terrible since I made my initial deposit.
Purchased a new 2024 Canyon and 2025 Acadia, both flawless
Had purchased a new 2024 Canyon, and it was simply amazing. Never had any problems with it in 1 year of ownership and about 9K miles on it. Wonderful truck. I wanted to go back to an SUV, so I traded it in on a 2025 Acadia AT4. So far, with 1700 miles and a few weeks in, it's also flawless. I haven't anything to complain about. Everything works, everything is nice and I feel like it's simply the perfect vehicle for me needing legroom and space so as not to feel claustrophobic. It has plenty of power, it gets 20mpg around town in AWD mode and 22mpg on the highway in AWD mode. Simply nothing to complain about. Now, I have heard and seen reviews about both of these new vehicles and have concerns about writing a review without any issues to report, as I hope it's not a jinx and I end up having issues. But I waited a year and the Canyon was flawless. Never owned a new car without any issues before. Hoping the Acadia turns out to be the same way. I have had good luck with the GMC and Buick brands in the past, two Encores, one Terrian, one Envision, etc. All of those were cars that just ran without issue as well. I'm hopeful that things continue on as they have, and that things continue to work well. I know that all cars have had issues, a big name hybrid SUV I bought new in 2020 had a need for a new steering rack under warranty in the first 3 months, and a new fuel tank in the first 6 months. So as to say no matter what it is these days, there are cars that need work and as for the solutions, I'll wait to pass judgement on GMC until I see how they perform if something bad happens. The simple service stuff like oil changes and inspections have been fine.
Criminal at best
General Motors truly doesn't stand by their products or customers, and likes to define their own terms after the fact to justify not having to reimburse customers.... but they don't inform you about it until after the time frame (which is subject to change on their choosing) WHAT A BUNCH OF GARBAGE 100K on a truck but go f yourself if it breaks down... they keep it for over a month while youre stranded on a trip and string you along spoon feeding you scripted bs and end up forcing you to spend thousands out of your own pocket.
My engine blew up after 123,000km
My engine blew up after 123,000 km and regular maintenance. They admitted to knowing their engines blow up and will do absolutely nothing to rectify the situation because of policies designed to screw over the consumer. DO NOT buy a GMC unless you want your engine to blow up prematurely. You should be recalling your product instead of robbing your customers.

Tried to buy American and see what I got. Last several vehicles were Lexus, Mercedes
Bought a 2025 GMC Acadia
Transmission problem after 6 weeks. Has been sitting in the shop the last 18 days ( Parks GMC Greenville SC ) waiting on parts. Was told I should be able to get it back hopefully next week. I would NEVER buy this trash again. Less than 2000 miles
2 months later and my truck still sits…
2 months later and my truck still sits idle at GMC Basil in Orchard Park. I thought calling GM corporate would move the process along but they’re just as bad. Rep stated she was going to escalate my case…. Now doesn’t return calls. First and last GMC purchase. Customer service is absolutely disgusting!
GMC Canyon
I recently purchased a 2015 GMC Canyon with less than 60,000 miles on the odometer. It boasts all the latest features and is sleek in black color. The interior is luxurious, featuring leather upholstery, heated seats, and an electric start-up. Reverse camera and navigation system. Everything is in perfect working condition.
My boss purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra…
My boss purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 for my pilot vehicle. One of the main selling points are the sensors that are in the bumper and the rear of truck due to the tight spaces. Just a few days ago my sensors failed and in turn I curled the bumper back because of a concrete slab the sensor did not sense. Now because its not enough to claim for insurance because of the rates we are paying now, I'm having to pay out of pocket the almost 2k for a new bumper. When a key selling point fails, I feel sure he should buy any more GMC's.
Bought a new Sierra 1500 Denali…
Bought a new Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate just over a year ago. 3200 miles into it engine went. In the shop for a month. It went back into the shop approximately 6 months later fo two recalls and needs to go back and in for some odd behavior with the transmission. Funny sound and showed it was in ‘off-road’ mode no matter what I did. That has now gone away but who knows?
A little of my history before I continue, my father retired from GM Manufacturing, my stepfather, mother and most of my family worked for GM for many years in and around Saginaw, MI. So we have always been GM people.
Bottom line, never again. Not only did GMC not buy back this lemon, they really refused to do anything other than do the repairs.
Looks great, great bells and whistles, nice to interior. Piece of crap that the company will not acknowledge.
I will be a Ford buyer from here on out, even though I can buy GM through the family plan.
Thoroughly disappointed in what has become of this once great company.
All I can say is if you still choose to buy one of these vehicles, know your on your own.

I will never buy a GMC vehicle again engine failure!!!!
I will never buy a GMC vehicle again. I own at 2021 Yukon Denali that I paid $85,000 for. I’m at 76,000 miles and have meticulously Mainers the car. Two weeks ago, the car went into neutral going 80mph on a busy way with my you d child in the car. I couldn’t excellent. Thankfully, there was a shoulder I could pull over on. The engine had seized and the car would not start. It’s now going to cost over $8,000 for a new engine. And the ending won’t be in for over a month. So I’m now without a car, in a rental and have to pay for a new engine. These 6.2l engines are known to have these problems but there has not been a recall. This could have turned out much worse, had a shoulder not been available to pull over onto. This engine should have lasted for at least 200,000 miles. GMC will not cover the cost to replace the faulty engine. I will never trust this brand again for the safety of my family and my finances.
Purchased 2024 GMC Canyon April 2024…
Purchased 2024 GMC Canyon April 2024 It's been in service department for a total of 100 days and still counting Always parts delay 34 days for antilock brake module Over 45 days and still counting for wheel speed sensor not to mention multiple days in service for electrical problems Worst truck I've ever owned GM corporate absolutely no help at all Just keep passing the buck They refuse to repurchase truck or even let me talk to supervisor I will NEVER purchase another GM product EVER
Been waiting a week for my payment
Been waiting a week for my payment, phone keeps going voicemail, they do not get back to me . Nobody answers the phone. This place is a joke. AVOIDDDDD!!!!!!!
Is GMC a scam?
Terrible experience, they lock you into different fees and inevitably renting for a broken car they sell you is a hassle and borderline scam in my opinion. There’s some strange issue where the car temporarily has electrical issues (won’t start, locks and electrical/key fob doesn’t work) and the worst thing of all they keep your car in the dealer for weeks WITHOUT FINDING OR FIXING the issue and sending you on your way with limited information, relying on the car to fix itself?? They can’t do their job and they keep you trapped in different ways for you to pay up with your money or your time, all while not finding any sort of solution. Stay far away from this company they don’t try to fix their faulty design by the looks of it.
There was an airbag recall on my 2017…
There was an airbag recall on my 2017 GMC Acadia, I took it in and they found that one of the engine mounts and transmission mount was bad. My service writer Denis Neves in Las Vegas was awesome. They had my truck for 2 weeks, but he gave me a loaner to use during that time. I had the extended warranty so there was no charge for that repair. Auto Nation Buick/GMC on West Sahara in Las Vegas is awesome!!!
I HAVE A 2024 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN Z71 …
I HAVE A 2024 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN Z71 BRAKES WENT OUT ON ME. DIDN'T KNOW THEY HAD A RECALL ON A COMPUTER UPDATE. I COULD OF REAR ENDED OR RAN SOMEBODY OVER BY ME NOT KNOWING. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT , I ASKED FOR GOODWILL POINT'S FOR MY INCONVENIENCE ONLY TO BE TURNED DOWN BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR WHO HASNT SPOKE OR EVEN TALKED TO ME. I HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH TRYING TO GET A REFUND FOR MY RENTAL VEHICLE COST WHICH I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO RENT. IT'S BEEN 2 MONTHS AND I STILL HAVENT RECIEVED A REFUND THE GUY AT CHEVROLET MIXED MY VEHICLE UP WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER AND TOLD THEIR ESCALATION TEAM THAT THEY GAVE ME A LOANER VEHICLE IN WHICH IT TOOK ADDITIONAL 2 WEEKS TO GET THEM TO FIND OUT IT WASNT ME IT WAS ANOTHER CUSTOMER. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE MINE IN WHICH EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE COVERING FOR EACH OTHER AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A CORPORATE NUMBER NOR A CORPORATE EMAIL DIRECT ADDRESS. GMC NEEDS TO DO BETTER. UNSATISFIEDCUSTOMER
Don’t buy from GMC!!!
I bought a 2025 Chevrolet trax and 2 weeks after getting the screens out of nowhere turn off. I took it to service, well turns out they can’t do anything cuz there’s no recall or update. I call GMC they can’t take it back bc it needs to be in service 3times for repair so now I’m pretty much stuck paying on a vehicle that doesn’t fully function bc they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it
