Easy to understand and use to file my UK taxes while living abroad.

I used them in Autumn 2025 for the first time hence I often needed help. They mis-interpreted my emails and their replies were never much help for a beginner.
Requests to help by a first-time user are replied to with “we are just a software provider, not an accountant” and/or direct to HMRC manuals – not webpages on where to enter what figures on their software, which would be more helpful.
Also they do not advertise that they charge £10 per year to verify your identity using one of those services that takes a picture of you and takes a hundred times to agree that it matches your passport.

I live in Aus and was late with return not understanding I need to account for only house in the UK even though not investment … also had a half of the financial year in England without income. As half year non UK resident its not possible to submit via Gateway and even accountants don’t always know how to deal with this. Easy to use so fast 46 pages of tax return done in less then an hour. Interface could be more up to date pls very happy 😃

I paid the fee and the return didn’t lodge or tell me there was a next step so I ended him getting a fine from the HMRC

Made the job of submitting annual reports to HMRC so straightforward. I would highly recommend it!

Only reasons used this company because self assessment deadline was approaching and I didn’t realize overseas residents can’t make a self-assessment submission via the HMRC online portal.
Will not use this company again. Payment you see is not for entire submission. Each form used is charged for so fees can mount up.

ID verification system used exceptionally intrusive. Not only does verification system require a personal document it also requires you to allow a photograph look forwards and then turning right and left. Why was that necessary and where are my verification details now? More worryingly who has access to that data?

So easy to use once you become familiar with what goes into each section. It also saves the information you’ve entered, minus the monetary value, for the following year’s tax return so it acts as prompts and makes the process so much easier and quicker for subsequent years.
