Difficult to contact their customer support

Update: If you do purchase from Gruv, I recommend paying through Paypal. As I stated below, I never got responses from them by email, so I thought to finally go through Paypal to request a refund, and they responded immediately through those messages. They said they'd been replying to my emails, but I had nothing in my spam and they supposedly had no error messages on their end showing failed delivery. They accepted my return, though, and issued the full amount back, so they will help you if you actually get ahold of them. But imagine if I hadn't had a third party platform to facilitate the refund - I would have never gotten it because they have no alternative ways of contacting them.

Wrote to customer service two months ago and have not gotten a response, despite following up twice since then. Most of the items I ordered arrived in good condition, but I purchased one nice boxed set in a metal container for about $120, and it arrived with a warped edge and beat up metal holding box. I reached out hoping to swap it out, but like I mentioned, it's been two months (going on three) and they have literally not responded at all. I'd be hesitant to buy anything pricier from them because if it arrives in poor condition, you will not be able to get a hold of anyone at this company. It seems they don't monitor their customer service inbox at all.

Overrated Company

This company has gotten plugged by numerous YouTube phys media collector channels I've watched and it's obvious Gruv is PAYING these commentators for plugs. Now, I didnt have a BAD experience,but not one that makes me want to come back. I started an account bc they said 20% off your first order. Ordered Creed and the first Mortal Kombat Legends movies on 4k. Low prices. I knew these movies would maybe NOT come with slipcovers but thought maybe id get lucky. Well, it took like a week for the items to arrive which is already too long, and once they did they didn't have slipcovers, but were also those sort of "returned" or warehouse overetick copies you see at Best Buy Black Friday sales sometimes. With the shrink wrap plastic wrapping masquerading as brand new, and not the "y-fold" wrap you would normally have. Also, those annoying wrinkles on the front cover art and plastic that forms on thin cheap eco cases sometimes (collectors know what I mean). Then i opened up one movie and the 4k disc had actual scuffs on it, like it was used and fell on someone's carpet or something. Weird. I rubbed them off with my cotton shirt and thankfully the disc played fine.
Anyway, aside from the cheap (possibly returned) copies i got, Gruv just has a very limited, bad title selection on their site, especially for collectors. Just your run of the mill mainstream first-run Hollywood movies. Barely any sort of cult or horror flicks.
Just a lame site. Try DeepDiscount instead. They aren't perfect but FAR better than Gruv.

This company was a nightmare to deal…

This company was a nightmare to deal with from beginning to end.

I purchased a Universal Monsters steel book on sale through Walmart. When it arrived 4 days later, it looked like someone had played kickball with it. The steel book was crushed, warped, bent and broken in every imaginable way.

Of course, I immediately inquired about a replacement and was told that they would ship me a replacement when I returned the damaged item. Annoying but I was willing to do it. However, it took forever for them to send me a return label and I kept having to chase down answers out of their customer support. At this point, no one had even apologized for the trouble. Just kept getting vague answers.

Once I finally received my return label after pestering them about it for days, I immediately shipped the item back. Did not hear from them again. Didn't check in with me. Never sent a replacement. Did not refund me.

I kept reaching out to ask for updates and kept getting pushed off and told that the replacement was being shipped, that there was a warehouse issue, a processing issue, a weather issue, etc. Basically everything except "We're sorry. Here's your money and/or replacement."

A month after the return was delivered to them and I had been continuously chasing down answers, Walmart finally initiated a refund for the item because apparently Gruv couldn't honor the replacement.

I then get told by Gruv Support that the item is out of stock and that if I want it still, I have to wait and see if it comes back.....and pay full price. Even though it was initially on sale.

Don't expect helpfulness from this company when something goes wrong. They will jerk you around until the intermediary has to step in.

I ordered The Batman in 4k and got the movie 300 in 4k which is a movie I did eventually want to get so. I have ordered The Batman in 4k again and also ordered Doom in 4k. We will see. Stay tuned.

Doom and The Batman arrived.

I've always had good experiences with…

I've always had good experiences with Gruv. You're actually buying from Universal (Warner) Home Entertainment's online retail operation hence why almost all of the film titles available are Universal/Warner Bros. So far, I've placed seven orders each worth $100+ since August 2023 and never had any issues with shipping. Every order shipped standard USPS Media mail and usually arrives between 3-5 days halfway across the country (they say standard free shipping is 7-10 days). They have great sales events every month (2 for $12 blurays, 3 for $15.99 blurays, $5.00 blurays, etc). A great way to grow your media collection at home. Now since I believe there's always room for improvement, these would be the minor issues I'd be critical about purchasing from Gruv.com. First, the shopping cart is a bit clunky. It's difficult to see how many qty you're actually ordering, and i've accidentally ordered double titles on one order during one of their sales. Not a big deal so I kept the copies to gift to family. Second it seems that once a title sells out, it's not likely that it'll be immediately restocked or even an ETA which is a bummer, especially for popular titles during sales. Third, the shipping status under your past orders page seems to be really slow at updating, with no link to the order tracking number (you have to keep an eye on your emails, and look for the USPS tracking number near the bottom of the email footer graphic that's not linked to the USPS site, so you have to copy/paste). Besides those minor issues, I wouldn't hesitate in making further purchases from Gruv being a passionate movie watcher and collector.

Do not buy from here. Be careful when buying from Walmart. They will outsource from here and they each just say sorry. If you order 4K movies, the image is blur on case. Pirated! Then you get digital copy that has expired! How? The movie just came out. Just go to VUDU and buy the digital copy!

Excellent site with great customer service

Gruv is an excellent site with prompt delivery and customer service. All of my orders have been delivered within a few days with no problems. I did have to do a return one time but that was because of my own error, and they took the DVD back and even credited my account for the return postage.

GREAT customer service

GREAT customer service. What is Great Customer Service you ask? Delivery 5 days in advance. Open communication. Refunds available with 100% customer satisfaction. They offer it all.
And I forgot. They have great prices on their movies. Nothing more to say here or you will quit reading. Try them, they are GREAT.

Preordered movie with promise on the…

Preordered movie with promise on the product page of "delivery on day of release". Didn't even ship out unitl release day and will be at least 9 days late per usps site getting here. I ordered this one specifically because of the release day delivery promise. Disc preordered end of May, coming end of first week of July. Also had special through their ebay storefront that was not completely clear & ended up getting charged full price. All of these will be returned and disputes opened to get my money back. I dont feel secure with their refund promise so may end up having to dispute charges after returning items once they arrive. I will go to a physical store tomorrow to buy this one title. Gruv seemed like a great new alternative but I guess not.

Charged twice for an order that did not go through

I attempted to order 2 blu-rays via Paypal on this site. The order did not go through but gruv charged my Paypal for the order twice. I have emailed customer service about this issue twice now and they don't seem to care. I had to open Paypal disputes for both transactions.
