Mixed Experience at the Manchester Clinic – Great Procedure, But Concerning Communication and Extra Costs

I had my hair transplant on Friday at the Manchester clinic on 39 Deansgate. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a stressful start. When I arrived, the receptionist told me I still had an outstanding balance — despite the fact I had paid in full weeks before. Not exactly ideal when you’re about to undergo a procedure and want to feel calm and assured.

On top of this, I was advised to purchase minoxidil tablets as part of the aftercare, costing an additional £207 for a 6-month supply, after already paying £2,500 for the procedure. Then, when Dr. Munir — who I must say was knowledgeable and helpful during the consultation — reviewed and drew my hairline, he recommended an additional £500 to achieve an even better result. Feeling anxious and wanting the best outcome, I agreed, but it did feel like a lot of unexpected extra cost.

To be fair, the nurses were pleasant and attentive, especially when I needed extra anaesthetic. The actual procedure itself went smoothly, though it was a long day from 9am to 5pm.

I’m currently on day 3 of recovery and have been following the aftercare instructions closely. I developed swelling around my left eye, which I understand can be normal as the anaesthetic moves down. However, to be safe, I tried contacting the clinic for reassurance. I called Dr. Munir’s direct number several times, left a voicemail, called the main office, and even sent photos via WhatsApp — both to the group and directly to his mobile. I received no response through any channel.

I completely understand they may be busy, but after paying over £3,000 and being encouraged to reach out after the procedure, being unable to get even a simple message of reassurance is disappointing and concerning. It leaves me feeling like now that they have my money, I’m no longer a priority.

I truly hope the final results are great, but the overall experience has been a mix of good surgical care overshadowed by poor communication and unexpected extra costs.

The operation And care and Hospitality all into one was great only had done 2 days ago and lots of Graphs healing very well upto now cannot wait for end results in Due course

Had my hair transplant done this weekend and Harrow clinic. Staff very friendly and so does the doctor. I cannot say enjoyed very much the pain but get there in the end. I recommend the client for everything what they done to me on the day of the transplant and also after care.

Unfortunately, very bad experiance , book the consultation for 12 nobody phoned me been waiting 15 minutes nothing, then I had a phone call to reschedule.
Second time when my consultation start the specialist was unpolite , arrogant and very unhelpful.
Mybe only me , but very unpleasant experiance I hope the specialist during my consultation had a bad day that’s all.

Had my transplant on 10th October, & have been very impressed with everything to date. The procedure went very well, & the aftercare & regular follow up comms from the team have been excellent; ‘Yaseen’ has been fantastic , & as required I can correspond with him quickly & professionally. Fully recommended !!!.

Great clinic and the staff here were really nice. Dr Munir will have a chat with you prior to the procedure and make sure you are happy with what will be going on throughout the day and seems passionate about what he does.

Only had my surgery yesterday so I can’t say how that is but being there was a good experience, Dr Munir was fantastic every time I spoke to him I felt at ease and his energy and enthusiasm was so good for me! Would recommend 👍

Made an enquiry and then got called multiple times as soon as it rang off they called again and again like it was an emergency, then messages and emails come through and it seems dodgy, from an account for hakeen but says his name is Ashley. Do not trust these!

I had my transplant yesterday. This is the 14th operation in my life. and I do say with a good heart. it was the best surgery I've ever had in my life! the staff was so kind and understanding. Especially raj!
The doctor was so sweet helping me get through the Needles. very professional very Direct I am privilege. To be one of his case studies. Dr zakar rafiq. I'll find it amazing what they can do with technology especially the stem cell wow. I highly recommend this place in my opinion they are the best!!!

Procedure went well and looking forward to the outcome! Amazing but painful!

The first point i would like to make is i was under the impression the surgeon/specialist undertook the procedure well this is not the case. He makes the holes ready for the follicles then leaves the room. His assistants place the hair follicles into the holes.
I am now 6 Months plus since my procedure. The aftercare has not been what I expected. Time lapsed that I didnt hear from anyone. Now I am past the 6 month post op I am supposed to have had a face to face review. This hasn't happened. I was contacted by the team. They offered me a video call to which I responded no I was told this would be a face to face. The team then stated they would get back to me.....I am still waiting. I have chased the appointment team up but they have ignored my messages. Whilst the hair on my eyebrows has grown, I have had concerns, bald patches, that I wanted to discuss. It has just felt to me that once they have your money they can easily forget about you and your concerns.
