SCAM OVERSEAS BUSINESS.
Returns process includes sending to an overseas address that does not exist. Returns cost more than the products. They threaten with legal action. They offer you 10% refund. They try to pull at your heart strings that sending items back is bad for the environment. These are very very cheaply made items and not at all like the description or photos. There was never a store in Sydney, it is a new online scam shop.
I will be reporting this “business”.

Avoid ordering anything from this company - totally dodgy.

Ordered two winter coats. They took three weeks to arrive, with no communication that they were arriving. They are advertised as a Sydney-based mother and daughter company, but the items stated “made in China”. The quality was very poor - one coat was very coarse material with no lining; the second was so thin that it could not be classified as a winter coat. Both very poorly made and the sizing was totally off. My daughter and I followed the measurements and ordered a size up to allow more more room. Even then, the coats were very tight and my daughter is a petite size.
I contacted the company advising that I was not satisfied with the quality and wished to return both coats at full refund. I got a quick response advising that to get a refund I needed to return the coats to Bolivia! Not even China, but Bolivia!!! And that I had to fully pay for the postage and tracking. It wasn’t even a proper company name. This is a scam! Do NOT buy from this company.

Hartley & Harbour - SCAM. Not in Sydney. Cheap China crap if ever received at all.

Hi I purchased 2 jackets from them in July 2025. One was listed as a 'Woolen Windproof Jacket' although the jacket was 100% polyester and so thin you could almost see through it. The other jacket was double breasted but with no buttonholes to do the jacket up. I was told this did not qualify to have return postage paid but i could post it back at my own expense for a full refund. I chose to do this but to my surprise the company that claims to be based in Sydney has return your items all the way to China. They have absolutely nothing to do with Sydney. No refund has happened.

I purchased $300 worth of clothes and when they arrived the quality was so very poor I requested a refund. I had to pay postage after sending pictures of a jacket that was over $100 that you could see through plus some of the tops. Postage was &30. That was in June and no refund yet here in November. Just a thank you for your patience.

They don't even deserve a star at all. They are scammers. I ordered from them they sent me the wrong size. When i told them they suggested a 10% refund and keep the order. Then i sent photos to show that they sent me a much bigger shoes and clothes. They said ok send them back and we will refund you. I had to pay $50 dollars to return the stupid order hoping at least I' ll get half of my money back. They never returned or refunded anything after long months of communications. They are the biggeat scammers i have ever dealed with.

The clothing is made of cheap fabric and poor quality.
Definitely NOT a Boutique store that is closing down.
It is a drop shipping scam.
I've asked to return the items for a refund & they just go around in circles.
No offer of return or refund.
I wasted almost au$400 on rubbish.

Like others, I was absolutely shocked and disgusted with the garment I received. It was nothing like the images on the original website - and instead of a wool material coat it was a thin felt shammy like material that I would now only use to clean my car. It was absolutely nothing like what I ordered.

In order to get a refund they wanted me to pay for its return to a Chinese address !!! More good money after bad. How can they get away advertising that it is an Australian owned family company.

I will look for all sites they advertise on to warn others. I wish I could attach pic of advertised coat and pic of what I received.

Horrendous experience. Totally inaccurate advertising, totally different product, false advertising and when attempting to return, over a week of communication offering discounts but not honouring the 30day return policy. Totally scam.

It is a scam?
I placed an order. What i received was very disappointing. Apart from the multiple defects (because of CHEAP manufacturing) every dress I purchased was made of 100% Polyester (like lining inside a garment). That is the only label, if any, you will find.

How they describe the clothing/shoes etc on the Harbour Bay Boutique Website under 'DESCRIPTION' is VERY LIMITED . Its fake ornamental vocabulary helps evade what the actual material composition is. Especially SHOES .

They can write anything to impress you into thinking you are buying a SUPER DISCOUNTED 'branded' quality item.

BUT, you won't find any PHYSICAL Brand Label, Material Composition label or Care Instruction label ANYWHERE on the garment you receive except for 100% CRAP Made in China.

Finally, you will notice in your perusal of Harbour Bay Boutique Website REPEATED OUTFIT'S under different BRAND TITLES at RADICALLY different PRICES! Hmmmmmm?

Repeated emails asking to return my order have not been replied to. AND NOW, I cant even access the website since Sunday to get the RETURN ADDRESS because SHOPIFY have declared it "NO LONGER AVAILABLE."

YET, I'm still receiving promotional emails expressing they miss me and inviting me back offering even more big discounts.

I'm amazed at the depth Harbour Bay Boutique has delved into the marketing of 'Closing down' their 'beloved 30 year family business and journey' via Facebook ads AND videos.! Their HEART FELT PULLING STRINGS STORY has worked it seems.

Kudos to Harbour Bay Boutique. A greedy deceitful bunch is how I will remember you.

Absolutely SHOCKING quality and nothing like the images on the original website - which by the way is not longer available. Surprise, surprise!!!

The worse thing are the photos and claims that this is an Australian owned family company - lies, lies and more lies. How is this possible or allowed?

I have been extremely disappointed and frustrated with the customer service of this company.
It is not an Australian based company they state in the advertising that they guarantee money back if not satisfied. This is not the case I am still asking for refund after sending emails. Photos and returning product at my own expense to. China.

I sent an email to Harbourbay Boutique complaining about the serious lack of quality with their items,I bought ankle boots and a jacket,,this is their answer "Unfortunately, the issue you’ve raised does not qualify for a free return under our policy ,That said, we would still be happy to offer you the option to return the item. Please note that the return shipping costs will be at your expense and are non-refundable",plus more which I won't put here, they are trying to portray they don't have a problem and all customers are whingers,

This shop is absolute rubbish, im glad i didnt pay full price.....ill be going straight to the ombudsman so we can go after the directors. Unfortunately for the owners my relative is a high court judge..we will see u soon

Ordered a cardigan that was reduced from $300+ to $89 looked like a chunky knit on their website. In reality a cheap jacket thin not knitted at all. What a scam my girlfriend ordered stuff too, also cheap nasty quality nothing like on the site. And they keep advertising what a wrought.

Wow what a disgrace of of a so-called boutique this coat is not even worth $20 no lining no nothing fabric thin terrible these people should be shut down

I received my Italian leather jacket today. It’s going straight into my garbage bin. It smells like shit and looks like plastic. These companies are flooding facebook and need to be boycotted. False advertising at its best. Absolutely disgusting rubbish made in China

I am only sorry there is no ZERO score option in relation to this dishonest operation. I ordered a coat which was described on their website and in their FB advertisements as Emma Premium Windproof WOOL coat. It did arrive on Monday this week and, upon opening it, the product and quality provided was absolutely disgraceful.

For a start, it is NOT WOOL. IT IS 95% POLYESTER AND 5% COTTON : not a hint of wool in sight.

It had a ridiculous hood which the advertising does not show.

I sent an email to them yesterday afternoon asking for a refund and an address to which I could send the coat back. I also expressed concern that despite their website stating that they have a returns policy, they do not provide an address to which you can return the product. Another worrisome fact about these fraudsters.

I subsequently received a very chatty email from Anna asking for me to send photos of the coat so they could give further consideration to my request for a refund.

I tried twice today to send Anna another email stating that I was not prepared to send a photograph of the crap product back to them as they know exactly what they sent me and they also know that it is definitely not wool. I also wanted a return address for Australia NOT CHINA.

I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised when I got notification that my two email attempts were UNDELIVERABLE.....................

The quality of the product was not what was advertised. I t was absolute crap. When I contacted to arrange the return they were not very helpful as they would not refund all my money. I returned the item and 4 weeks later I am still waiting for a reply. I have tried to make contact with the company and the phone number is incorrect and the email just bounces back. Do not deal with this company.

Don't trust this website .Not from Sydney but a cheap site in China
