We booked a hotel at; 5858 International Drive, Orlando, 32819FL and received a confirmation. Upon arrival it seemed the hotel had been permanently closed for several years

I booked and paid fully online for a room for 2 persons via booking.com then when we got there, I was asked that we must present the hard copies of our I.D which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in their website’s policy. The 2 Indians, a female and male, that attended to us insisted that we must present the hard copy of our I.D. Meanwhile, I had mine but my partner had soft copy and we came from a very far distance to chill. Personally, I believe that was because we are Africans. To cut the whole story short, we were denied access and no refund was made so we went to Palm beach hotel and spent a night there, they accepted the soft copy from my partner which this hotel rejected. It was almost 10pm when we finally found a place. Later, I sent an email to the hotel demanding for a refund since it wasn’t my fault because it wasn’t mentioned anywhere till I got there and till now, no reply from them yet. I have never had any bad experience like this from any hotel room booking. Really, I felt scammed and racially abused. I can and will never recommend Howard Johnson hotel to anyone I know. IT WAS A VERY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
