The majority of (positive) reviews here review the ease of getting a quote and policy. I cannot argue with them.
I can, however, review what your experience will be if you are ever unfortunate enough to need them to stand by the policy they (smoothly!) quoted you (with ease!).
They (through their proxy) initially declined a claim for a burst pipe despite heating bills establising the building was heated, as I lacked a nest thermometer to establish what the temperature was set to on the day of the loss.
They then deployed an engineer 3 months ago to examine the apartment.
It's been 247 days since the incident, and over 100 since the engineer's visit. There is no final resolution in sight, and the report has yet to be shared.
I can't even pursue action via my attorney because we're awaiting basic responses and sharing of information.
UPDATE: Honeycomb clearly has problems telling the entire truth in their replies. As they note below, the engineers report was dated August, which would imply that my complaint is a lie. What they are NOT saying in their reply is that their engineer inspected the home in early May - not August. Thus, it took their engineer three months to issue a report to them. The end result is no different - you will end up waiting forever to receive any compensation (if you do), and if you choose to contest, you and your attorney will be delayed forever.

I obtained landlord insurance from Honeycomb Insurance in what was a very easy process. The process online was simple with easy instructions. The follow up telephone call that was necessary was quick and professional. The renewal amount from my previous insurance provider was $600 higher than my new policy with the same coverage. As soon as my other properties are up for renewal, I will most definitely switch to Honeycomb Insurance.

it was a completely painless process. The only part that was not satisfactory was the inspection process. There is no way to review the data you're sending before it's sent. Individually, you can preview an individual item, but it is not possible to determine what was sent after the fact.

This review really applies to the rest of my experience beyond their control- except they should change their adjuster service.
Freda Armour at North American Risk Services was the opposite of that.
Here’s my experience with her.
At first she gave me the wrong Claim number. And her wrong phone number. And the email she gave me was not her correct work email!!! She gave me this email and told me to put the claim number in the subject line: mailroom at narisk.com.
I sent 3 emails to that address but got no response. Probably because she had given me the wrong claim number!!!
Since the phone number she gave me was also incorrect I had no way to get ahold of her 😟. So I went online and found the website and called the 1-800 number and used the dial by name directory to finally contact her.
She admitted that she made the mistakes of the wrong phone number and claim number and corrected them for me.
I asked her the status and she didn’t know.
I contacted Jorge and he contacted the other claims adjuster (there were 3 of them and that was another confusion). Eventually I got a call from the 2nd adjuster, John Smith. He told me my claim was not that urgent.
I called Jorge to intervene and he called John to speed up the process.
Finally I got the 3rd adjuster to come and look at our roof. He said they wouldn’t replace the shingles. Later John Smith called and said they would replace the shingles. Confusing but happy.
After a couple days of hearing nothing I called Freda Armour again to ask the status. She took several minutes on hold for her to look up the status. Then told me that she was then going to process the claim and that I would be getting the first payout. She sent me an email with the claim report details which I forwarded to my contractor. My contractor had been asking for this report for days.
All in all it was a pretty bad service experience with NARisk services. Disappointing. One star performance.

Our building pipes burst on December 24, 2022 (it was -40 outside), and we could not get a hold of anyone at Honeycomb to file the claim until December 27th 2022. We were without water for three days. I was informed that Honeycomb use NARS a 3rd party company to handle your claims.
As a paying customer this claim experience with NARS and Honeycomb has been very unpleasant and everything BUT a smooth process. The NARS adjustor did not come to view our property damages until January 11th. The initial check was issued on February 17th (informed Jenifer the check was dated January 17th which was inaccurate) and arrived on February 22nd 2023. Jenifer (NARS Rep) is extremely rude, unprofessional and has a lack empathy for what your customers are experiencing in a crisis. George (field adjuster) report shows that all of my hardwood floors need to be sand, re-stained and a portion of the hardwood floors in the master bedroom need to be replaced. There is no where in my home to play musical rooms as I have a fully furnished home. The adjuster allocated $111.00 per room (roughly $333.00) for contractors to play musical rooms to complete the hardwood floors.
I distributed the adjusters estimate to five companies. All five companies stated the estimate was low and it would be extremely difficult for them to get Honeycomb to payout more due to how low you came in. The contractors stated they are not a moving company so that is not their profession and everything needs to be cleared out to complete the floors. I emailed the adjuster a quote for the movers and POD. Honeycomb/NARS are refusing to pay for movers and a POD to allow the contractors to complete their scope of work. The adjuster, DENIED that portion stating these are my personal items and personal items arent covered in our policy. I am not looking to have my personal items replaced, I'm trying to have them removed so that the contractor can repair my damaged floors which was caused by the building pipes bursting.
In closing, I'm aware of the arbitration clause so I've initiated this to inform you of my issues, concerns and the lack of coverage payout that we are experiencing with Honeycomb Insurance Company/NARS as well as my next steps:
1. Submit a complaint with the Better Business Bureau
2. Submit a complaint with Attorney General's Office
3. Submit a complaint with the Illinois Department Of Insurance
4. Return the issued check in the form of Cashier's Check via UPS/FedEx to Honeycomb (minus $5,738.18, which was paid to Restoration company for the building mitigation)
We are five months into this claim and we still do not have the appropriate funds to fully repair our homes. Our home still remains untouched surpass the mitigation team removal portion which took place on January 7th.
