Started crocheting in Feb 2025
Started crocheting in Feb. 2025 and wanted a kit that made it more enjoyable. Hooks and Needles was just that. The kits are so much fun to do and the videos are super helpful. One thing with the videos though is that it would be helpful for beginners to have the rounds broken up and the first few stitches of each round to be slow and clear. I got confused easy. Haha. But overall I absolutely love them! The customer service is super helpful and encouraging!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I had an issue with the first box they sent me so I tried calling the company, got no answer. I emailed and got a generated response that they will get back to me. I've since emailed 3 times with no response at all.

HIGHLY ANNOYED
Alright let me spill the tea on my beef with this box already and I HAVE RECIPTS! On march 1st i bought a sub from them as a way to treat myself and to learn how to learn how to knit. Simple and easy right? Wrong. When the 7th arrived..there was no UPS.The mail carrier im homies with said there was no box and when i crossed examined both UPS and USPS they didnt match up because UPS said one location and USPS said it was still in another! I contacted their service and they sent me...a 'mrs quilty' box recipt in 2024 THAT EXPLODED WHEN I GOT IT! So i know either A. i was talking to a robot. or B i was talking to a newbie that didnt properly read the room of my situation. I sent them screenshots of their so claimed 'shipping service' expecting them to get a handle on it.. all i got was CRICKETS.
Highly annoyed If you buy please use my review as a word of caution.

Fun projects
Love, love, love the projects! I’ve learned so much already with just my FIRST box. Yarn is soft and seems good quality. I’m pleased with the colors. I appreciate learning new stitches with each project. Also, the accessories are additional value. Yay!

Overall I enjoyed my first box
I loved the yarn. It was good quality and was a nice combo of colors. Though I don’t think orange and purple go super well together. I liked the bag pattern and the mug cozy. But I hated the scarf pattern; it was hideous. I liked the needles with its own carrying case and the tiny scissors, so cute!

Bad customer service
I never received my package. I've emailed the company about 8-10 times now. I only got two robotic responses that tells me to check with my neighbors to see if they received my package or if the box might be in the surrounding area so to check around the mailbox. There is no real live person addressing the issue. Their boxes aren't cheap. I'm out $48 with nothing to show for it.
The only good thing I can say about them is that their yarn is nice.
I highly recommend people NOT TO BUY the boxes from hooks and needles. Also, they advertise that they give amazing tools, but these tools are so cheap and not the best quality. I would rather purchase a better quality item.

The box was full of very nice gifts. The amount of product in the box was worth a more than the membership is.
The pattern book is easy to read and understand.
New quilters will be able to complete the box of projects, not having a box of unfinished projects.

DO NOT PURCHASE!!!! received a damaged knitting machine and cannot get anywhere with their customer service. I have reached out multiple times, and communication always drops off when I explain and send them photos. They stop replying to my chats, emails and phone calls. Worst customer service and the machine was unfortunately made with cheap materials even though I was charged $100+

Great yarns, the rest is underwhelming
The yarns are fantastic, and I love having multiple projects to choose from. Although, the last box was 3 strikes and out for the projects. I'm finding something else to do with the yarn. With the first box, I wanted to make one of the projects twice (was making them as gifts) and was really disappointed when I couldn't get additional yarn. In this latest box, the "free gift" was bad. We got stitch markers that very clearly had knitters in mind.... in the crochet box. I like stitch markers, but maybe don't include ones that say " I heart knitting" or have knitting needles on them when they are going to a crocheter. I'll probably end up giving them away. There's also one of a spool of thread that says "silk curd". I assume it's meant to say "cord", as it's clearly not silken soy curd, i.e. tofu.
Overall it's been a fun experience and I'm looking forward to the next box, but there's definitely a need for greater attention to detail in certain areas.
