The car rental company charged me twice! DoYouItaly is unreachable.

I rented a car through DoYouItaly because the price was good, and I also purchased additional insurance to avoid any issues later. So I thought I was fully covered.

However, when I arrived at Bologna Airport, the car rental company, Icaro Mobility, told me that my insurance coverage was not sufficient and that I needed to purchase additional insurance, including roadside assistance. It was already late, and I was unable to get in touch with DoYouItaly.

Icaro Mobility eventually charged me twice for the car, telling me that I would receive a refund of the original amount through DoYouItaly.

Unfortunately, DoYouItaly is not responding to my emails, and I cannot reach them by phone either. I have now paid for the car twice and have no idea when, or if, I will get my money back.

Very disappointing service. I would definitely not recommend this company.

A Bologna, Icaro Mobility è senza dubbio la scelta migliore. Auto moderne, prezzi competitivi e servizio clienti eccellente. Lo consiglio a chiunque abbia bisogno di un'auto a noleggio in città.

Ho confrontato diverse aziende di noleggio e Icaro Mobility ha il miglior rapporto qualità-prezzo. Servizio impeccabile e personale competente. Tornerò sicuramente per il prossimo noleggio.

Do not trust Icaro Mobility. They are running a predatory extortion racket targeting tourists, hoping you won't keep records.
When I returned my rental car, their inspector became extremely hostile, aggressive, and rude. He tried to bully me into accepting liability for a scratch on the rear right wheel rim, and eventually slamming me with a fraudulent €1,022.64 invoice for such a minor but preexisting damage.
The only reason I escaped this scam is because I had high-resolution, timestamped photographs taken on their lot at the exact minute of pickup. When I caught them red-handed with undeniable digital proof, their complaints department tried to play dumb and stall. I was forced to freeze my credit card to protect my funds.
Once they realized I wouldn't back down and that my bank would rule against them, they suddenly backed tracked, dropped the €1,022 invoice, and released my deposit.
This company deliberately delivers dirty vehicles with undocumented marks, hoping you will miss them so they can hit you with massive penalties later. They are dishonest, aggressive, and only back down when exposed. Protect yourself—rent elsewhere!

Be extremely careful with this company in Italy. Our recent experience was absolutely unacceptable, and I would strongly recommend staying away from them.

First, the conditions of our rental were changed through DoYouItaly without any clear prior notice or explanation, effectively forcing us into a service with this company.

But the worst part happened when we returned the car. Their staff rushed us into signing on a digital screen and explicitly told us that we were only signing to confirm the return of the vehicle and the keys. Nobody inspected the car with us, and nobody mentioned any damage whatsoever.

Only after we had left did we discover that the document we had been asked to sign included a list of alleged damages. We did not cause these damages, we were never shown them, we never accepted them, and they were never mentioned to us when we returned the vehicle.

They are now attempting to charge us €500 from the €750 deposit held on our credit card.

What makes this even more serious is that we signed the digital pad believing we were simply confirming the return of the car, based on what their employee told us. We were never informed that we were supposedly accepting a damage report.

We have blocked the card, reported the situation to our bank and requested a chargeback for any unauthorized charge. We have also opened a formal dispute through the European Consumer Centre and reported the matter to the relevant Italian consumer protection authorities, including AGCM.

My advice: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. And if you do, do not sign anything on their digital screen unless they show you the complete document first. Take detailed photos and videos of the car before and after the rental, and insist on an inspection with an employee present.

I wish we had known this before renting from them.

Their 'modus operandi' consists of tricking customers at the very last minute to steal their deposit under false pretenses.First, our contract conditions were altered unilaterally through the broker DoYouItaly, forcing us into a service with them without any prior notice or explanation. But the worst part came when returning the vehicle. Their staff rushed us into signing a document on a digital screen, verbally assuring us that it was exclusively a confirmation of the car return and key drop-off. No joint physical inspection was conducted in our presence. After leaving, we discovered to our absolute outrage that they had hidden a list of invented damages inside that document—damages that WE DID NOT CAUSE, NEVER ACCEPTED, AND WERE NEVER VERBALLY NOTIFIED ABOUT.Now they are trying to fraudulently and unjustifiably charge us €500 by abusing the €750 deposit currently held on our credit card. Furthermore, the digital scribble on that pad does not match our legal signature at all, having been obtained through deliberate deception and lack of consent.We have already proceeded to block our card, reported this fraud attempt to our bank to initiate a chargeback for any unauthorized transactions, and opened an official dispute through the European Consumer Centre and Italian consumer protection authorities (Antitrust AGCM).DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. It is a tourist trap. If they try to do the same to you, report them immediately to the Guardia di Finanza. Unscrupulous thieves.

I wish I had read the other 1-star reviews before hiring a car from Icaro in Milan. If I had, I would have saved myself more than €250, as well as a great deal of stress and frustration.

I was charged over €250 for three tiny scratches (and I DO mean tiny). The scratches were so small that you cannot even see them in the photographs taken of the alleged damage. Yet I was still charged hundreds of euros. I would regard this process as a scam, and reading the other 1 star reviews a very successful one.

I have been renting cars across Europe for more than 25 years, and I can honestly say that Icaro is by far the worst car-hire experience I have ever had.

Having now read the other 1-star reviews, it is extremely concerning to see how many customers describe similar experiences involving very minor damage and inflated charges.

I also want to warn people about the standard response Icaro posts underneath negative reviews, claiming that damage has been fairly assessed and the charges are justified. This is a cynical attempt to give their alleged damage-charging practices an appearance of credibility.

STAY WELL AWAY FROM ICARO.

I genuinely wish I had listened to the warnings from other customers before booking. Don't make the same mistake I did. Read the 1-star reviews — they would have saved me money, time and a lot of unnecessary stress.

Nous avons loué une voiture à Bologne gare centrale pour une semaine. La personne qui nous a fourni la voiture etait très agréable, serviable et professionnelle . La voiture etait très propre , de plus, ils ont été flexibles au niveau des horaires. Nous recommandons vivement !

La mia esperienza con ICARO Mobility – Malpensa
Ho noleggiato un'auto presso “ICARO Mobility” la cui sede per l’aeroporto di Milano Malpensa si trova a Somma Lombardo, in via Comunale Antica, n. 24, dove mi è stata consegnata la macchina, una FIAT Panda, da un solerte impiegato il quale mi ha chiesto se volessi acquistare una polizza assicurativa. Ho risposto che ne avevo già acquistata una al momento della prenotazione del noleggio dell’auto online. L’impiegato mi ha risposto in modo sibillino: “bene in caso di problemi poi se la sbrigherà con la sua assicurazione”
Alla riconsegna, l'addetto ha effettuato un controllo molto accurato del veicolo e ha individuato un minuscolo graffio sul copricerchio anteriore destro, praticamente invisibile a una normale osservazione.
Per tale segno mi sono stati addebitati € 161,16, Comprendenti non solo il danno ma anche ulteriori voci di costo previste dal contratto.
Se qualcuno lo desidera posso fornire le foto scattate, naturalmente, dall'addetto non le mie che sono di parte.
Ho contestato formalmente l'importo mediante PEC, chiedendo una rivalutazione della pratica e una soluzione bonaria, evidenziando la modestissima entità del segno.
La mia richiesta è rimasta senza risposta e il giorno successivo è stato effettuato l'addebito sulla mia carta di credito.
Successivamente ho richiesto anche la documentazione relativa alla cronologia del danno e ai controlli precedenti del veicolo.
Fortunatamente, come precedentemente detto, avevo sottoscritto una polizza assicurativa indipendente, contestualmente alla prenotazione del noleggio. La compagnia assicurativa, la “Sincera Insurance”, mi ha integralmente rimborsato l'importo addebitato in poco più di una settimana.
Il consiglio che mi sento di dare è di fotografare e filmare con estrema attenzione ogni parte del veicolo, comprese ruote, copri cerchi e parti inferiori, soprattutto al ritiro, sia alla riconsegna.
Questa è stata la mia esperienza personale. Ognuno trarrà le proprie conclusioni. Io, personalmente, starò alla larga da questa società e consiglio a chi intende noleggiare di valutare con molta attenzione eventuali alternative

Ho noleggiato un'auto per un viaggio di lavoro e tutto è stato perfetto. Prenotazione facile, ritiro e riconsegna rapidi e senza problemi. Auto pulita e in ottime condizioni. Tornerò sicuramente!

Uso Icaro Mobility da anni ormai e non mi ha mai deluso. Professionalità e flotta di auto sempre nuova e ben tenuta. 5 stelle meritate senza alcun dubbio. Continuate così!

Competenza e professionalità — caratteristiche non scontate al giorno d'oggi. Ottima scelta di veicoli tra vari modelli, dai classici benzina agli ibridi, con marchi di fascia alta e media. Consigliatissimo per chi vuole noleggiare in tempi brevi un'auto con la sicurezza di non doversi preoccupare di nulla, godendosi con spensieratezza un veicolo affidabile da un'azienda top nel settore.
