AVOID AVOID AVOID total rip off.
Sadly I used this totally rip off company to rebuild the engine on my VW transporter tdi.
I was in contact with a person known as Jodey and told her all about the previous problems we had had with this engine . She assured me they would do a competent overhaul and the price was to be £2800.
This was agreed a cash price without any VAT.
The vehicle ead delivered to them on a car transporter in October 2020. I was assured the work would be speedily completed with regular photo updates.
Eventually in January 2021 I was told the vehicle was finally finished. I asked Jodey several times had it been road tested and how it ran. I also asked her what the "boys who had repaired the engine had found wrong but despite asking several times, never got a reply.She assured me it had been road tested but I asked she do another road test to reassure me. She says she did this and reported it as "perfect".
With this re assurance I said I would pay the £2800 but she immediately came back and said that the price was £2995 and the £2800 figure was never agreed. She also wanted a further £100 for a new battery.
I had no option but to pay the new price as foolishly I had got nothing in writing. I there transferred £3095 to another of their companies called Engine Professionals, a company with the same address. She asked I transfer to this company so I wouldn't have to pay VAT.
So in February 2021 I instructed the transporter company to pick up the vehicle and deliver back to me in Harrogate..
He arrived at their premises to pick up, the "new" battery was totally flat. Eventually he boosted it off and loaded it onto his trailer.
Some days later , it was delivered to my address in Harrogate, by the transporter company. Again it would start (flat battery) and had to be boosted off. When it eventually was started, the engine management light was on.
Subsequently to this , after about a total of 8 miles the engine " gave up" and now will only start after perhaps 30 seconds cranking(we fitted a new battery) and then it will run for perhaps 10 seconds before cutting out . All this time the management light remains on and the low oil pressure light remains on, even in the 10 seconds it manages to run. It sounds like a bag of nails and it smokes.
So , not a very competent job.
I have complained to Global Engines and they say sorry, send it back for them to look at again.
This I will not do as all that will happen is that they will say they have found another fault that "was nothing to do with them" and charge me a load fore money and it still wouldn't be right.
I have asked "pleaded" with them just to return my money but they refuse.

Yes. this company are still at it in a reincarnation. They are now Global Engines and gearbox . or if you dont want to pay the VAT, they direct you to Engine Professional.
They are totally dishonest and I really don't know how they can live with themselves.
Ive reported them to the VAT, HMRC, trading standards, but still they keep shafting people. It beggers belief how they are not all in prison.

I bought a Mazda Bongo 2.5TD engine from these people some years ago.
It was painted and LOOKED reconditioned, but it was not.
I had it fitted at a local garage, which was not cheap.
The engine failed soon after fitting.
The garage then had the car back and stripped the engine down to check the problem, and found the cylinder head was cracked.
Ideal Engines said it was out of warranty and not their responsibility (due to the time to fit it and the time to discover the fault). They would not cover my garage costs either.
After many complaints and phone calls, which they eventually blocked, the vehicle was scrapped at a cost of approx. £3k to me.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

this outfit are now trading as Replacement Engines and have been exposed by Watchdog, again, in a programme broadcast on BBC1 on 18th June 2015.
They appear to be above the law, owing many thousands of pounds in unpaid judgements and continuing in their appalling trading practices.
They are situated in Barking Essex and relocated across the road from their original premises.
Still staffed by the same people.

After submitting a stack of information to trading standards and 2 independent journalists and the BBC these scam artists got a visit. They are still operating at same address with same people but different name. No chance of recovering the £1500 they have owed me for last 3 years but I'm going to be watching their every move and reporting them constantly to authorities.

Well Daniel how can you live with yourself all these people you've done out of money all the lies all the kid on reviews about how good you are what rubbish hows your new baby that's lies to how does your wife live with such a heartless devious no conscious super twit like you and all your cronies your workshop looks like a scrappy your disgusting you will be closed down you wont sell anymore junk I think people get the message now and being on watch dog to how embarrising for you karma will get you back and I hope it hurts I hope you get the jail you desrve it

The manager DANIEL and the company was on WATCHDOG for ripping off their customers. BEWARE!!!

Shockingly bad service. Either fully incompetent, or downright dishonest, cant decide which...
