Do not bother using this service. These guys charge whatever amount they can, depending on your level of desperation, by using numerous superlative words. Just as our database is the best in the world, our matchmakers are the best in the industry, etc. But they gave in total 2 dates in 3 years. There were 2 more, who did not even show up. I feel like this is a big scam. They are just preying on guys who trust them with their money. Just think they charged me $3K for 2 dates in 3 years. I am beyond angry at these guys and feel so stupid that I trusted them.

I like that everyone is encouraging and nice. If the date did not go well, they say it just was not your person. Let’s work to find someone you connect with.

Great service last date was a great match

Awful. Told them I travel and wanted a partner who has similar lifestyle. They said they can offer that. After I paid, they told me they could not provide that. Total scam.

They don't seem to be concerned with my travel time and consistently give me matches with huge chunks of their profile that directly contradict preferences I've given them. It's been a terrible experience which I told them and they responded "that's dating" as if I didn't pay them a huge amount for this to not be the standard experience. They also lie pretty often and gaslight me when I call it out.

They care more about meeting their quota, than what your dating preferences actually are. I've wasted countless hours and thousands of dollars on dates that not only don't fit my criteria, but I obviously don't fit theirs.

If I could leave zero stars if I could.

DON'T BOTHER joining unless you live in a major metropolitan area. If you don't, expect to be matched with people who live 1 to 4 hours away from you. Don't bother expressing your concerns. THEY DON'T CARE.

There is ZERO personal service. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I joined It’s Just Lunch at the beginning of March of 2024. I was very excited about the possibilities that I would experience with using the service, but I was hugely over promised what has actual been delivered. I was placed with a matchmaker who ended up not being competent and was fired from the company. Instead of anyone reaching out to let me know and that I would have a new matchmaker, I had to consistently reach out to have someone get back to me.
My very first date using It’s Just Lunch didn’t show up. Other candidates were not in the realm of what I was looking for. Instead of being honest about the quantity and quality of men, I feel like and have been strung along. I took a break after I found out the matchmaker was fired, only to restart and have my first date not show up. I’ve barely had very many dates, because there haven’t been any men in my perimeters/area that I live in.
It’s Just Lunch is in it to talk you into the service, take your money, and run! Huge scam!! Do not use or trust anything they say.

I appreciated the arrangement and coordination of the matches. A few of the restaurants were a bit on the pricey side and didn't seem to fit a casual meet-and-greet. Some of the matches were not always on point, so I tried to be more specific. I don't feel it was a waste of time, but one needs to be realistic and direct about what they prefer.

I have detailed my experiences

Not a great experience at all. My deal breakers were unapologetically ignored multiple times and my match maker seemed like she barely wanted to have a conversation with me . I asked to change match makers and got to work with a new one for exactly 1 match before being reassigned back to my unfriendly original matchmaker.

“It’s just lunch” is the worst company ever! They completely misrepresent themselves in their initial sales, and in my area which is Oahu, they have a very poor and small dating pool, so much that they can’t meet the criteria that most people will request. The dates are few and far between even though they imply you will get a date a month, but it takes months to even set up the first date. They promise incredible people that fit all of your requirements but can’t produce. They also imply 10 dates in 10 months. However, in reality, they quickly start setting me up with people who are outside of my age parameters, and are nothing like what I requested. I had one date which was horrid. The second date I declined because I was not interested in that kind of a person which they knew. It took them months to give me those two dates. It’s now been 18 months and I can’t get any communication from them. I requested a refund and was told I have to wait 36 months per the fine print in contract. They quickly reference that they do not promise a date a month and I should be patient. Reality is the reps are young people they call executive matchmakers, who they have trouble keeping keeping. I’ve had five different representatives that either were switched out to a new rep because they said something that was inaccurate when I asked questions, or two of them quit on the spot and walked off the job without telling anyone and the communication just stopped. They elevated my account to an executive customer service manager, who said all the right things and I’ve spoken to him three times. I now have asked to speak to his supervisor and no longer can get any communication no matter how many emails or calls I get. They obviously quickly flag your phone number and choose to not answer your calls. This is the worst scam and the worst company. Please do not use them or you too will be frustrated and given the worst service ever.

Jaiye consistently expressed caring attentiveness and responsiveness in his interactions with me. While I've not yet met a man I would consider relationship-worthy for me, I remain hopeful that with the feedback I've provided during my 6 months of active membership, there's a clearer understanding of what that will take.

Everyone from the company has been very nice and enthusiastic; however, I’ve been underwhelmed by the matches to date. I felt with such an investment the caliber of matches would be higher. The sell of “better than the apps” hasn’t been quite there for me yet, however I’ve only gone out with one person and remain optimistic that the process will be worth it.

If I could give this company a negative star I would do so.

This dating service is deceitful. They take advantage of people searching for connection. I have been lied to from their staff repeatedly. I sent a letter to the owner of the SF franchise and even with it being certified, it was returned to me. I have started a small claims court claim.

During my interview, their rep took all the information about what I was looking for in a parter and she said (emphatically, think cheerleader tone) "I've got you girl! We have the best men."

Then when I was set up on four different dates with men who did not meet ANY of my requirements, I was told I was being "picky."

Isn't asking for specific attributes why we paid for a match making service? At the very start, IJL should have told me they did not have men in their database that met my qualifications.

I have asked for a refund and told I could not have one, but when I referenced their contract, shame on me for not looking sooner, I read that I could have done so within certain criterion, of which, of course, I was not told about from anyone on their staff.

I am embarrassed that I spent $5200 as it was a TREMENDOUS investment for me. I was misled, I was insulted, and I have wasted my time. I was depressed after every date, and I am extremely disappointed that I was a fool to believe IJL would perform.

IJL is taking advantage of people who are seeking partners and may be vulnerable. (I was.) Placing a great amount of trust into a company such as IJL and its team, takes courage. If the company was operating in an above-board manner, all the details of the contract and expectations would be reiterated verbally. Any issues would be met with honesty, not false promises that get hopes up.

I beg you not to use their services.

These people are terrible. I told them the parameters of no moms and no older women and that's the first two options they present. The matchmakers are slow getting back or don't even respond. Pricey service to get nothing but sub-par options in return. I tried to refund the service but they were keen on keeping the money and doing nothing because they are a "business."

I am a man of high quality finances, health, lifestyle, career, etc, and am using a fake profile so they can't identify me.

Good match. We had lots in common. The restaurant was noisy and it was hard to hear at times.

I'll be quite honest with you, when it comes down to the Houston location for this franchise. it horrible. Once. Time. I went to a date with one of the EHS managers and the first thing he did at Travelers Table in Houston was put his feet up like he was hanging out for Super Bowl Sunday. At the rate of our conversation, it looked like his body language looked like he wanted to pull a chicken out of his ****. Let me back date to the time of the contract, since I'm speaking from a legal perspective. the problem with this particular contract is that the EHS manager, who is my first match, basically plucked his **** down at travelers table. If anyone wants to challenge me on this review, I still have the contract.
