It’s Just Lunch is a scam and prospective customers should stay away.

I paid $3,000+ to sign up in June for a membership, and in the nearly 60 days since then, I have received exactly ZERO of the promised services/benefits.

I was set up on a fake “date” by my first matchmaker… I arrived at the restaurant and at the date/time, exactly in accordance with her e-mailed instructions, only to find no date present and no reservation under my or my date’s name.

After this disaster, I met with one of their “Director of Matchmaking”, supposedly a supervisor, who promised to rectify this situation by assigning me to a new matchmaker.

I was not contacted by this new matchmaker until weeks later, with a brief phone call with no actionable next steps.

Yet to give herself more time, she decided to record in the system that she set me up on a date the day after this phone call… which of course was a total lie.

Don’t be fooled by It’s Just Lunch’s friendly and professional sales people… once they get your money, they lie and disrespect you as a paying customer.

I wish I could Give this service negative stars. You’re supposed to be guaranteed 12 dates min in a year. Me? They sent me a total of three men who were the exact opposite of what I wanted. They sent me 3 men in the year but 4 times each. It’s absolutely awful! Don’t waste your money. It’s pointless . Same men over and over are sent to me without taking into consideration of what I am Looking forward. Not one date in the year.

Not enough men, seems like response is hard to contact ijl after signed up and paid.

We had a really nice dinner and everything went very smoothly with the reservation. The conversation was easy, like we had known each other a long time. Neither one of us really wanted the date to end.

Jaiye L, is SUPER. His introduction started with talking about my favorite college football and basketball teams, The University of Michigan. The Detroit Tigers, Redwings, and Lions. He is a very personable matchmaker and is very easy to talk with. Knowing exactly what I am looking for in a special man, I feel Jaiye gives his all in searching for that match. Thank you Jaiye..

The date went well, we had alot in common. Family values and location lined up. The actual restaurant wasn't that great food selection wise but the service was good.

Complete waste of money $1000 for 3 names whether you like them or not! $1000 for 0 dates . Match maker had no interest in my preferences. This was more than 1 match maker. I’d give them a rating of - 1000 ‘ cause that’s what they stole from me!

I have been in It’s Just Lunch for 8 months and have gone on 1 date. I only declined 1 date, but many accounts appear to be on hold. The date I did go on was good and I appreciate that my matchmaker is selective with who he matches me with. Communication could improve so that there’s a follow up email if an account is on hold so you aren’t left wondering what happened with a potential date you thought was being scheduled. Also, better follow up after a date to discuss the answers in the form that is submitted would be appreciated. I also would like to know how many total people are in the age group I’m looking to be matched with. I asked for this information, but was told they couldn’t give an approximation.

I wished we could reached a representative or coordinator to discuss more about what we’re looking for.
I’m not sure how much they really pay attention on the matching personality, similarities, highlight…
They deliver on the promise of one meeting per month and respect a moderate distance for the place of the meeting.

It took a few weeks for my matchmaker to get in touch with me about our date. My date was wondering about being contacted as well. But overall, it has been a good experience.

Very positive and friendly matchmakers and associates. They really listen to your feedback on dates and do a lot of listening, up front, to help set up your matches. Restaurants are fun to try. No absolute guarantee on finding a partner but the process is very reasonable.

The date was a really great match based on my interests and expectations.

Not a lot of communication and follow up with my matchmaker. Since February, I have been on 1 date- the 2nd date I had to cancel due to my illness but was available 2 weeks later; yet I have not had any prospects. Often I have to call my matchmaker twice to get a return call; the 2 presented prospects so far were underwhelming.

This model, where you have no ability to see photos of prospective matches, is just not workable. I had three dates and with two of them I knew after 60 seconds that I wasn't physically attracted to the woman I was interacting with. I was gracious and found a way to have a fairly enjoyable conversation, but driving 30 or 40 minutes each way for a "dud" date was not a good use of either of our time. And it was quite common for them to offer me dates with women who lived an hour or more from me. And I was fortunate to get the discounted "try out rate." If I had paid full price I would have been disappointed AND pissed off.

Company is a joke. Complete waste of money. VERY over priced. Dates don't match your specifications. Amber is a terrible match maker and actually advised she is providing me dates. Yes but I have accepted none of the 3 because there's no interest. She does not listen to my feedback. Mike with customer experience has ignored my calls and emails for 2 weeks now. Company is a scam. Run away!

I have been a customer since Nov 2024 , I have had 2 dates. Its June of 2025. The sales people are slick- they initially hype up the dating pool and con you with stating they have someone that's a great fit. Once you sign up , its a complete let down. There are not men in sixties wanting to date women in early sixties , they only set you up with men over 70. I like the premise but they cant produce and you pay a lot for nothing ! They just set you up with people to check their quota and move on, even though its not a fit . It very obvious , I called them out on it and they tap danced around it . I would not waste you money on this service . They claim they provided me with 7 dates that is untrue, They send you links to dates that have nothing to do with your profile ,just to check their box and algorithms, even though they are way off your profile ,and then tell you it doesn't count but clearly it does as they state below

It’s nice to have someone valid all the good in you and look for someone that meets that criteria. They listen when I gave feedback and they are responsive when you reach out

Naomi is thoughtful and attentive. She genuinely wants to hear how each date has gone and tries earnestly to find matches based on feedback. Dates have steadily improved throughout and have been positive experiences, connections.
