Recently, JAR handled a boiler issue in one of the flats I manage, and their service was excellent. They responded quickly, diagnosed the problem, and resolved it with minimal disruption to the tenant. They kept me informed at every step and ensured the tenant was satisfied with the outcome. Reliable, knowledgeable, and efficient—I highly recommend JAR for any property maintenance needs!

Jar turned up to fix my boiler and after a quick 5 minute inspection told me it was too old (10 years) and 2 major components needed to be replaced so I needed a new bioler for £4500. No mention of type of boiler or make on the quote. I got a local plumber to fix the boiler with a new part for £270 total. All up JR seem to want to con me! Stay well clear!!!!

I asked for power flush for underfloor heating and upstairs radiators. As requested I sent pictures of the system controls and was given a verbal quote of £585 + VAT. I asked for email confirmation of the price and nothing happened. 4 more calls over 2 days and still nothing. Then I was told that they do not provide email quotes and that anyway they would need to visit the site first.
Finally I was told that they were fully booked for the next 3 months even though they had been very keen to book the visit until I asked for confirmation of the price.
For those of us willing to invite companies into our homes to be charged an unspecified amount of money, these are no doubt the people to choose.
For me, it's a clear red flag.

JAR Mechanical are absolutely shocking, they have just installed a boiler in a flat I rent and the installation is beyond shocking, something I have never seen in 35 years of being in the construction industry, aside from the shocking installation they left the flat absolutely filthy.

Steer clear of JAR Mechanical!!

Our elderly mother's gas boiler was condemned leaving her with no heating or hot water. We contacted JAR Mechanical the same day and Jason came to the property that evening and assessed the work required to replace the boiler. The quote for the work arrived that night, we accepted it and the work was started the next morning and completed by the end of the day. We couldn't fault the speed of response, the efficient service and the quality of work. Much appreciated and highly recommended.

We were faced with a very difficult situation with a snapped gas pipe and thought we would have to have half of our kitchen pulled out in order to replace the pipe. Rafal examined the situation and quickly came up with a great solution that meant that our kitchen remained intact. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful and very efficient throughout the whole process. We will definitely recommend JAR.

A gas safety check + retrospective building regulation compliance certificate was requested by phone. The latter is not done by every engineer and for that reason I explicitly asked about this being possible. This was confirmed by phone and a rate for the work agreed. In the end, only the gas safety check was carried out. This was justified with claims of the remainder of the work not being possible or sensible. The main issue is that the agreed rate was not reduced accordingly. While the gas check was probably done well, we advise customers to secure agreement about the scope of work in writing before agreeing to hire this company and check whether the resulting true rates are competitive.

After a fire at our property which left us without gas supply, JAR was able to attend quickly. They provided a quote on site (which was significantly below the alternative quote we needed to gather for insurance purposes), and were also available to do the work at short notice.

The team that did the work for us was really exceptional - friendly, communicative, fast, and efficient. They even managed to find a solution to an issue which had not originally been briefed in, but which I was struggling to solve directly with the relevant suppliers.

I cannot recommend highly enough - 10/10 experience.

I cannot fault Jason's work, or manner. He delivered an excellent result and great communications. He would be my first choice if I needed a heating engineer in the future
