Jiji is a good online platform for sellers..... Using the platform has helped me in boosting my business.

I've used Jiji for almost a year and even bought a real estate property on the platform, and here's my honest feedback:

Pros:

1) Detailed Descriptions by Sellers
Sellers and marketers on Jiji generally provide more comprehensive product descriptions compared to other platforms. This makes it easier to understand the features, condition, and usage of the items you're interested in before reaching out to the seller.

2) Wide Range of Product and Ad Offerings
Jiji boasts a vast array of products and services across various categories. Whether you're looking for electronics, vehicles, real estate, or services, you’ll find a broad selection to choose from.

3) User-Friendly Application and Layout
The app's design is straightforward and easy to navigate, which makes it accessible to both tech-savvy and non-tech-savvy users alike. Searching for products, viewing ads, and contacting sellers is relatively hassle-free.

Cons:

1) Old or Sold Products Remain Active
One of the major drawbacks is that ads for products remain live even after the items have been sold. This results in wasted time contacting sellers about unavailable products. It would be helpful if Jiji implemented a system to automatically deactivate ads once a transaction is completed.

2) Misleading Publication Dates
Another issue is that some ads show misleading publication dates, making it difficult to discern how long the product has been on the market. Transparency in listing dates would improve buyer confidence. Jiji seem to present the date the seller was online as the date the ad was published.

3) Limited Post-Sale Management
While the platform is strong on the front end (listing products and connecting buyers with sellers), there is a lack of post-sale management. For instance, there's no feedback mechanism for reporting if a product was successfully sold or if a transaction went smoothly. Adding features like seller reviews or ratings would enhance the buying experience and foster greater trust within the community.

This company called Jiji is fraudulent because I made a payment for a car add for 3 days now and they said my add can’t be published without a reason after receiving my money. They confirmed the payment but refused to publish my add. Their online support team is useless as them as they keep sending you AI generated messages back and forth after you’ve sent them the details. Don’t pay for any adds on jiji.

Jiji is just a Hope for this dispensation of Online selllers especially in Africa.

Their phone number verification service sucks. Their support staff are clueless and refuse to offer any kind of assistance, all they do is drop irrelevant replies and immediately close the tickets.

The platform is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to find exactly what I need. Recently, I purchased a new smartphone, and the entire process was seamless—from browsing and communicating with the seller to receiving the product.

Jiji declines genuine reviews. How else can buyers help other buyers if they keep declining reviews? My honest review was rejected multiple times that I just gave up trying.

Update: I see a response from Jiji, I tried my best to REALLY plead with you guys and was in deep anguish coz my ad was offline for like 3 days. But you were adamant to have your way without reviewing the uniqueness of my ad. If i'm selling a website, how do reject a screenshot and ask me to take a photo of the website with my phone of the computer screen then reject the photo you asked for coz its now unclear?! I closed that account soon after so i cant remember the reference number. Asking me for more details after I wrote a paragraph below feels like mind games. i doubt you can do anything about it now, its too late, you made your harsh judgement already! i don't know if there is anything you can do apart from offer compensation, recover my time and issue an apology but those are dreams. Now is not the time to ask me for details, check with your customer care in Kenya and scan your emails according to my description below. I was selling a Travel Website so not many people doing that, my details shouldn't be hard to find when you try.

Lets talk about Declined Jiji Kenya Paid Ads for paid advertisers. Not many people are talking enough about this. I was selling a digital product so i took screenshots.

1) They declined on account that i had to take original photos, so i took my camera and took a photo of the digital product. We all know taking a photo of something on the screen will produce poor quality due to glare. But its what they wanted so i took nonetheless in the best lighting i could find.
2) Another decline that came soon after is "poor quality of photo"
3) I uploaded again and I got a repetitive decline that I was using screenshots, I sent a message to customer care and they simply said "upload original photo" after explaining my predicament
This went on and on until i gathered a list of different reasons for decline that were not there before such as decline due to
4) Have unrealistic photos
5) Your photos are screenshots upload original photos (Again!)
6) Photo does not match what you are selling
7) Your photos are not original
8) Your description does not match what you are selling
9) Your photo does not match your description
Guy! I mean! Its been a whole day, Im tired of following up on the same issue and there is no clarity. The irony is that you have a database of sellers and its free to access so its easy to search for things you would normally not interact with regularly that small vendors stock. But Hey!

But as for posting paid ads, My advise to anyone thinking of doing a paying ad on Jiji Kenya website, at your own risk! You'd rather use Instagram, Whatsapp or Facebook.

Jiji Market Place is a very good place to buy and sell product and services.

But the Jiji needs to verify accounts to reduce unnecessary scammers and deceitful traders. I would have love if the app is more reliable. Hundreds of Sellers without a product or service to offer, but Jiji keeps accommodating without verification of identity, CAC, ID Card, NiN and so on. I think with this Jiji will be back on top as No. 1 Market Place in Nigeria.

Jiji is a scam app, there are a lot of scammers there.
Don't use it, their customer care is trash too

This site is scam and the workers there Jiji ng should be boycott and another selling platform should be introduce to africa

Be Warned Jiji Is A Scam!!!

This company claim to reduce scam but they are the real scammer!!!!.
I paid for one of their sales booster with a proof of payment sent to them they claim the payment was declined without showing me . proof. How would you say the payment was declined if not that you received the payment. My bank also confirmed they credited Jiji's account.

A lot of advertisements on Jiji.ng are simply deceitful in particular the real estate advertisements. There is a lot of "bait and switch" activities going on at jiji.ng. Take a look at the real estate advertisements and call up the advertiser to find out if the property is still available in the market for sale. They will automatically tell you that the price has changed but on the website it is showing a lesser asking price. This is damaging the jiji.ng brand. This is one of the reasons why several countries of the world continue to look down Nigeria as a SCAM place. Very Bad!

This site scammed us out of money to post an urgent classified advert.
The person who called us to take the payment cannot be reached. The number is disconnected!

Totally shocked. Did not know that jiji was a scam site.

I use this website to check prices of products in comparison to the main local market price. It has a profile section for business, career and job seekers. I once got linked to a job using this website. However some people also try to scam other people using the platform.

In summary, it is a cool avenue to get information.

The company call Jiji are scammers too much charges but you will not see customer they are after money never invest with them all are crooks

This is a company that claims to reduce scams in Nigeria, however they are the real scammers. For example, they delete feedback on their system, and not allowing you to adequately voice out your opinion. Like which company hides a customer's feedback if it's not dubious. Feedback is what helps you grow your business. There alot of scam sellers here duping people, and with the help of their mods, deleting clients feedbacks, it will be impossible to trust this guys. OLX was a better option.
