While setup was a little difficult it didn’t take more than around 10 minutes to get hooked up. My wife and I went back and forth through Kyushu and had excellent service the entire time. Couldn’t recommend enough👍

We went to Japan from December 27th 2025 to January 14th 2026, we follow Chris Btoaf who’s YouTube channel helped us work out all aspects of our trip. He recommended the eSIM and it was absolutely superb, I paid for the unlimited data as I was uploading photos and videos to various chat groups back in New Zealand and my wife paid for 30 GB as she was using less data than me. Everything worked supremely smoothly and I have already recommended the eSIM to work colleagues. My experience was first class and I took 1000s of photos and videos on my phone and used the Googlemaps to navigate each day. Our experience was world class

Very easy to use, straightforward instructions, and excellent service through the duration of our trip. My husband and I each used Journey Japan eSIMs and visited Tokyo, Takayama, and Nagoya, and never once had trouble with reception. We will definitely be using Journey Japan on our next trip!

Fast and easy installation process with reliable speed and stability during my use in various parts of Japan

My husband and I purchased the unlimited data plan for our three week holiday in Tokyo. Our experiences with the esim was the same. Set up was easy and connection was fast upon our arrival in Haneda Airport. We used it mainly for Google and Apple maps, watching videos and social media. The coverage was solid although at times it slowed down but never enough to cause major issues.

I got their so called „ultimate“ plan.

For weeks, being in Chiba and Tokyo, there was at no point a 5G connection.

The mist is LTE, and my current connection speed it laughable.

Overall, the eSim has always underperformed, the price is way too high for what it delivers.

I have an iPhone 16Pro, setup is correct according to them. The Phone is not the problem.

I have tried many eSims in Japan so far, all of then have bad sides, but this is the first that was basically useless, extremely slow and never, at no point, had a 5G connection.

It seems that their only selling point is an Influencer.

The reason i have it a try is an unlimited hotspot, but thats useless if the internet is too slow to even use your phone.

Purchased 26th of December 2025, currently 13th of January 2026.

Both me and my gf bought 10-10GB for our japan travel (3 weeks). We haven't encountered any issue with the service, and we went through cities like: Tokyo, Kyoto,Osaka and Kinosakionsen (which is a little bit of a distance from the big cities). The sims were working perfectly!

Fast and reliable! Different to the experience the first time we came to Japan when it took ages to connect and most time didn't work which resulted us having to switch provider mid way (and still didn't work well)

Chris has built a great business and I hope to use jjesim again when I return!

I purchased the unlimited data plan and made sure to install the esim a few days before I left the United States. On day 1 as soon as I touched down the connection was amazing and never dropped even in the subways underground! I will definitely be using this srrvice again next time I return to Japan.

I maintained service literally day 1, right when I landed boom service with this e-sim which in a foreign country where I dont speak or read the language was a huge boon thanks abroad in japan

Very easy to setup, worked flawlessly in Tokyo, Sapporo, Okinawa and Osaka, would absolutely use again and wholeheartedly recommend.

Coverage is amazing, and more importantly decent in subway/train tunnels. I used to use global roaming in shinjuku station and it was trash. This eSIM was heaps better!

This is my 4th long term trip to Japan (30+ days) so I have tried a lot travel of service options. Maybe I didn't understand how an eSIM works, but I found this service a little lacking. Frankly my largest struggle was not being able to make phone calls. I thought I left something at a hotel and needed to call the hotel to confirm but was unable too. I had to trek across the city to discover if it was left behind. My bank account was flagged for fraud, and I couldn't call the bank to confirm the purchase and consequently couldn't access the funds until returning home. Text to verify identity? Cannot not come through on a data only plan. Once again limiting our access to our banks and other accounts. Being able to text/call the other people traveling with the same eSIM plan is a chore as well. Data calls were lacking, often unable to connect or had poor connections no matter what app was used (messenger, whatsapp, line, facetime, tried them all). Additionally, service struggled in a few places on our itinerary, such as Okinawa which lead to frustration with missing transportation which is already limited there.

However, I would by lying if I said my data wasn't significantly faster and more reliable for things like google maps and other navigational tools. We traveled far and wide and 90% of the time we had the fastest service I have ever experienced. But when there were connectivity issues they were difficult to resolve or time consuming.

Personally, I will only use this service again by having one line with an eSIM and one line with our phone servicer for international coverage. Frankly, it is incredibly similar in price with the ability to make phone calls and receive texts if needed while having similar speeds and connectivity. Having one line dedicated to the eSIM for slightly more reliable navigation could be helpful. Or maybe if you are traveling with a teen or children who you want to have some data. But will I use it for all of the lines of the people traveling again? No.

The JJ eSim worked exactly as it said on the tin. I followed the directions and set up my phone, but waited to activate it until landing in Tokyo. Somewhere between the gate and Customs screening, I switched over to the eSim, and BOOM! Instant gratification. It took me longer to find the right train platform. Thanks, JJ Team!

My wife and I both got the Journey Japan Esim for our recent 3 week trip to Japan. The speed and reliability of the network as great. We never had issues with connections even in very congested tourist heavy areas. Will certainly be purchasing again for our next trip to Japan.

Coverage was great and I had no issues while using the Esim. I found there was some conflicting information in the set-up instructions vs the FAQs and it wasn't possible to set up fully before arriving in Japan, but thankfully once I arrived everything worked as planned.

Simple setup guide freely given and you are able to setup before you leave your country so your phone can easily switch to the eSIM on landing in Japan and it just works flawlessly, I kept to within Tokyo for my trip but I never lost signal anywhere in the city

We set up our JJeSIM on our phones at home as suggested and activated them when we landed at the airport. The eSIM worked wherever we went in Japan, including on our hike of the Nakasendo trail from Magome to Tsumago.

The only thing we couldn’t get to work was texting, but that might have been user error.

Anyhow it worked as was promised and we were grateful for it. If we return to Japan we’ll use this eSIM again.

I'm a pretty anxious person, so my first time in Japan was planned out perfectly. From watching his videos, I know I'd be using jjesim, but I was terrified of it not working. But I followed the simple instructions and not only was it ready to go when I landed, I never once had a problem with it. I rely pretty heavily on my phone, so this was a huge relief and made my travel experience infinitely more relaxing and fun. Can't thank you enough Mr. Broad, for having a hand in helping make my Japan trip unforgettable!

It’s was so much easier than I thought. I was worried it wouldn’t work (I have a 2020 iPhone SE) but the set up was such a simple task.
When I landed, my phone switched automatically and it was smooth sailing for the whole trip. Super simple, super reliable and super fast.
I highly recommend from deep within my soul.
