I purchased this for my 2 week trip and it was amazing! I did run out of data and had to purchase more but the price is reasonable. The service is very reliable and fast.

Setting up the esim was very simple. The instructions and explanations in the email were very clear and easy to follow and about all, the connection is really great. Im gonna be three months in Japan and this is my second month buying this esim.

As I waited in the airport before my flight to Japan, I remembered I needed to buy an e-sim! I always trusted the Abroad in Japan youtube channel to provide great info about Japan but will their products be as good? Well, the answer is YES! I purchased the e-sim, followed the instructions, and when I arrived in Japan, everything worked perfectly. I was able to use Google Maps, message people, check email and internet... simply put, everything worked perfectly. Thanks Chris!

The setup was very easy and we were connected as soon as we arrived in Japan, which we really appreciated. However, we were quite disappointed with the coverage as we continued traveling. There were several times when we had no signal at all, and most of the time the connection was very weak.

We are currently in Nagasaki and will be heading to Tokyo today, so hopefully the coverage will be better there. Overall, the convenience of installation was great, but the network performance so far has not met our expectations.

A solid service from start to finish for myself though while my Dad, who also used the eSIM, was able to enjoy its usage we had a few technical difficulties when first activating it in Japan due to how the QR code automatically setup the eSIM on his Google phone. The problem was a quick easy fix however and it felt like we were able to use our phones exactly how we would back in the UK. Would highly recommend using this service and have no doubts that any issues that may occur will hopefully be resolved quickly by the staff.

I've watched Abroad in Japan for a while now, and when we made our trip to Japan this May, it was easy for me to choose Journey Japan eSIM because of that. The company made good on Chris' promise of a reliable service, with a good signal and fast internet speeds. We had absolutely zero trouble getting the eSIM set up, using it, and we're completely satisfied with the purchase.

I saw another review and I had the same thoughts: mostly 4G while I was in Tokyo and a bit more more pricey than other providers but I went with Journey Japan eSim anyway. Coverage great most of the time. A few times coverage stopped but I got back on/refreshed after a few seconds. Had not issues in subway or using google maps while walking.

Ordered 3 e-sims for myself and my kids. Just scanned the QR codes at the airport in Australia before leaving and then switched them on when landing in Narita. They worked awesome and had great coverage. Definitely recommend.

I have been traveling from Aomori to Osaka, and I’m really impressed with the speed and availability of the service. I’m glad I saw your promotion before coming to Japan; otherwise, I would have been worried about the service especially since this is my first time here and I’ve had bad experiences in other countries. Thank you genuinely for providing such great service at a reasonable price.

Edit: Now that I’m at the end of my trip, I’d like to share some additional insight. I changed my rating from 5 to 4 after experiencing some slowness in parts of Tokyo. As others have mentioned, you will only get LTE, so don’t expect consistently high speeds. That said, for the most part I was still able to watch videos, use social media, and stay connected without major issues—even in rural areas of Aomori and Kawaguchiko.

Easy to setup with included instructions, worked without errors. Priced well, speeds were as expected for mobile data. Would absolutely use it again when I'm in Japan next.

My wife and I used JJeSim for our 3 and a half week honeymoon to Japan travelling from Fukuoka, through Kumamoto, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Osaka, Hakone and finishing in Tokyo.

The esim worked amazingly, very easy set up before we left our home country and connected instantly once we arrived. This was very convenient and helped save a lot of stress! We didn't experience any signal loss, apart from some patchiness in deep subways which was to be expected. We both bought 50gb packages and found we didn't use close to this even with constant maps and Pokémon Go!

I have already recommended JJeSim to a family member who was travelling there a week after we returned. We will definitely use it again on our inevitable return trip! The 500 yen discount at Lost Bar is also great! 11/10

JJEsim was super easy to setup when I arrived in Japan and started working immediately! I never had issues connecting unless I was going through a tunnel on the train 😄 outstanding product, worth the price for the peace of mind and stress free experience - couldn't reccommend enough

Used this eSIM on my first trip to Japan recently, my wife used a different provider through an app, her reception was pretty patchy at times and had a lower data allowance for a similar price.
My jjesim was absolutely faultless, prefect reception everywhere and absolute piece of mind. Highly recommended!

Both me and my partner used JJ Esim throughout our trip. We didn't loose signal once (Tokyo, Kamakura, Kanazawa, Osaka, Kyoto, Wakayama and Hikone) and it was greatly beneficial for our Google map and translation needs.

Used the service when walking the Henro on Shikoku. Even in very remote areas I still had service. I think only twice on a couple of mountains did I lose a connection--and no one on any service had a connection. Would definitely use this again. And really enjoyed the free drink when we got to Lost. All the best.

The service from the esim was great when it worked. I unfortunately didn't have service the whole first day I was in Japan. I was stranded after I was out of range of Haneda airport because I didn't have data. Support got back to me as I sent out an email before I went to bed. This was what I was told "it looks like your eSIM was successfully installed, but you may be running into an activation or data connection issue. Let’s try updating your APN settings, this often resolves connection problems etc. " I was able to get data for the rest of my 2 week trip after with no problems, just a small hiccup. Support also got back to me in under 5 hours.
