I find this very strange these negative reviews. I own several rental properties in Montrose and John looks after each of them and the work is done to a very high standard and John prices are always reasonable. Are these reviews about the same company ? JM Roofing Montrose Scotland ??

This contractor is advertising roofing work on Facebook. The standard of his work is terrible. Even a 12-year-old boy could probably do a better job. He's a complete con man. Before hiring him, I checked him out on Google and found that he does have a registered company:

I took it for granted that he was genuine and let him do the work. I can only describe the work he did as pathetic, and I was very disappointed.
I then searched for reviews of his company, J.M. Roofing and Building Ltd, and was shocked to discover that he had received three reviews since late March, all of which were negative.
This man is a rogue trader, and people like him should not be allowed to con people out of money for jobs he is clearly incapable of doing properly.
He’s not even worth one star.

Replaced my gutters and facia - left one man on his own to do it. Within 2 months the gutter was falling off. Initially responded saying he would be round to fix. Now not answering calls or messages. Went to address in Crawley given on advertising board and occupant has never heard of him. Complete scam. Avoid!

1 star is generous. Chap with the gift of the gab came and replaced our utility room roof. When it next rained thw whole room was flooded. Since we contacted him he kept promising his roofer would be round as soon as he was free. Nothing heard. Now won't answers calls or messages. Stay will away from these shower of shits. Absolute con-artists.

The website of this company doesn’t supply any address or location in UK, and issues No name of the proprietor. Alarm Bells? Yes there should be! They did a terrible job on my roof and when I went to look them up on Checkatrade I found a: JM Roofing & Building, JM Roofing & Building Services, JM Building, JM Roofing & Maintenance, J Mitchell Roofing & Property Maintenance, and J Mitchell Roofing. It’s a bit of a coincidence that ALL these traders are within 40 miles of each other, claiming to be operating from Crawley, Guildford, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Southampton, and Haywards Heath. ALL of them are registered with Checkatrade, and ALL of them share virtually the same names, and my hunch tells me that ALL the companies are registered under the same proprietor - J Mitchell?
This guy only issues verbal off-the-cuff quotes, his invoices arrive as SMS texts, and all monies are paid to a Building Society. He leaves his workers alone on the roof, without any Health & Safety or supervision, whilst the other workers double time on another job. If you see a JM Roofing and Building van in Sussex or Hampshire touting for business, close the door!!!!
