This truly was much better than anything we were hoping for. My husband and I only had 3 days in Manaus, and decided to squeeze in as much as we could in the Amazon without doing anything truly dangerous as we’re not wilderness experts.. this was the best option. Our tour guide Matheus was fluent in 5 languages including Portuguese, 3 Aboriginal Brazilian languages, Spanish and English. His English was a tad difficult to understand at first, but he always clarified and tried to tell us things in different ways if we didn’t understand the first time. This made translations SO easy between us, the river guides and the aboriginal people we met on the 1st day. We could tell how passionate he was about not only the Amazon, but the flora, fauna, local cuisine and the local people. We were so thankful to have met him and spent 3 days learning from him in the Amazon

The provided food at the lodge were traditional meals from the region, we discovered fruits and fish we’d never heard of as well. That in itself was a fun experience.

We were a little bummed we didn’t see any animals on the jungle hike, but then again- thankful we didn’t see anything that wanted to eat us so I’ll call it a win.

This wasn’t a fancy, high class excursion. We were dirty, we sweat the whole time, we were in boats on the Rio Negro, we stayed in a lodge where little bugs can sneak in and out, but we expected nothing less. BUT the lodge had GREAT AC units and there are no mosquitos on the river. It was, after all, the Amazon Rainforest. We’re really thankful we immersed the way we did and everyone was so accommodating

The tour guide Ken was an amazing host with full knowledge of the area and wildlife. Wendal and his family who owned the lodge made full accommodations and the rooms and food were great. Pickup at hotel was easy along with dropoff and the ride up the river was awesome with a stop to swim with the pink dolphins and visit and indigenous tribe. An amazing once in a lifetime event. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a real Amazon trip.

We had a fantastic experience exploring the Amazon with Joshua and his team. Everything was extremely well organized from start to finish, and the trip ran very smoothly with no delays or complications.

Our guide Sophie was wonderful and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable while still giving us plenty of time to explore and appreciate each place we visited. We did a private tour for three days and having the boat to ourselves made it feel very special.

The food was delicious and felt very authentic to the region, and our stay at the Tapiri / Anavilhanas area was beautiful and peaceful. The whole experience felt very genuine and well thought out.

We’re already planning to come back and try another itinerary next year.

We booked with Joshuas Amazon Lodge and wow — it was the experience of a lifetime! Everything was perfectly organized. They pick you up from any hotel you’re staying at and let you know in advance. All the transportation on site was very well organized too.

The whole team is super friendly and kind. Every expedition was incredible and very well explained. We had Marco as our guide and wow, what a great guide — always smiling and ready to answer any of our questions. Don’t hesitate to come to this lodge, I would come back without hesitation. What an amazing, well-organised team!

Et dire qu’en Amazonie les montées d’eau du fleuve de 12ml sont parfaitement normales les habitants y sont préparées… quelle belle leçon d’humilité.

I booked 3 day amazon tour. Lodge and food was great. People very friendly. Excursions were moderate and english of guide too be improved a lot. Day 3 was breakfast and go back to manaus asap. Tour is way too expénsive for what is offered.

We booked the 5 days, 4 nights Amazon Survival Tour with Joshua and it was honestly a once in a lifetime experience. Communication beforehand was excellent, everything was well organized, and pickup was perfectly on time.

On the way we had some great stops, the Meeting of the Waters, where I even captured an amazing jumping dolphin video, plus a really interesting fish farm. After a mix of boat and car transfers we reached the lodge, with super friendly people, great vibes, and delicious food.

Our two guides, Kenrick “Jungle Boy” and Leandro, were incredible. From the first moment in the jungle, they explained so much about how life works out there, how to read the forest, animal tracks and calls, fresh signs on the ground, which plants are useful for food, medicine or tools, and how everything is connected in the ecosystem. They answered every question with patience and real enthusiasm, even after hours in the heat.

The pace of the tour felt perfect. We started with a boat tour and there was so much to see and so many moments where Kenrick and Leandro stopped to point out details we would have missed. Once we went deeper into the jungle, they showed us how to build and organize a camp in a way that actually works in that environment. Sleeping in hammocks took a little getting used to, but it became part of the adventure, and mosquito nets were absolutely essential.

Over the days we did a longer hike and learned how to move through the forest safely. One of the most special moments was spear fishing at night, the jungle after dark feels intense and beautiful at the same time. On another day we went upstream by boat, and they cleared parts of the path with machetes with impressive skill, always calm and in control. Back at camp we fished, cooked over the fire, and ate really well the whole time.

For the last night we moved to a different camp, went piranha fishing and it was delicious, and we even some caiman. We also saw traces of a jaguar and heard its call, plus capuchin monkeys, a tarantula, vultures, and toucans.

Yes, this tour may cost a bit more than some others, but after hearing stories from travelers who were disappointed or even scammed elsewhere, it felt completely worth it for the quality, safety, and the real experience.

This tour is truly immersive and takes you far upstream, much farther from civilization than many “survival tours” that claim the same thing but only go a short hop past an established camp, and because you’re really out there it’s also a bit rougher in the best way, including simple routines like showering each night on the boat using water straight from the river.

One practical note: bring proper hiking shoes and ideally shin protection. Barefoot shoes, even if you normally hike in them, are a bad idea in the jungle because of real risks from spiders, snakes, and scorpions. It would help if the website made that clearer.

This trip was the ultimate "off-the-grid" dream and perfect for anyone who wants a luxurious experience without having to be a professional athlete to enjoy it. Between the incredible local food and the peaceful days spent just soaking in the sights and sounds of the jungle, it was exactly the kind of authentic reset we needed. Always feeling safe and taken care of. A huge shoutout to Joshua, who was a total rockstar with the planning; he really went the extra mile to make sure everything was spot on.

The only real hiccup was the vibe with our guide. While the local people were some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable folks we’ve ever met, the guide felt a bit more focused on his own social life with the community than on actually including us. Since we don't speak Portuguese, we spent a lot of time sitting in silence while he joked around with the locals, which felt a little condescending at times. That said, if you’re looking for a beautiful, low-impact way to experience the heart of nature, I’d still highly recommend this adventure!

The expedition through Amazon with Joshuas Amazon Expedition was amazing! It was the beste experience I have ever had. Our tour guides Cobra and Gustavo were very interesting, friendly and funny. The accomodation and food were great as well!

I booked a 4day/3night stay in the Peacock lodge and it was a great experience ! I Wrote Joshua once in Manaus and in few hours they were able to customize my trip. The following day I was already in the jungle lodge !

The Peacock Lodge is beautiful and clean and really comfortable ( air conditioning bathroom shower etc.) Food was always healthy and really good (including a fantastic artesanal ice cream !) All the experience during the stay were super interesting and i feel myself somehow connected with the nature. Next time I wanna try the survivor trip ;)

Last day I thought the journey was ended... but I discovered there was much more to discover ! With Kenrik our incredible guide for 1 day, we had a super lunch at the cachoeira place then we visited the indigenous CIPIA community and finally we had the chance to stay in the rio negro water together with the pink dolphins.

We just got back from our trip to the Amazon, and what an unforgettable experience it was.

The trip was very personalised - just the 2 of us! And we had 2 tour guides. Very different to the type of mass tours you sometimes get.

All the logistics were arranged perfectly, which is nice because then you can just enjoy everything the Amazon has to offer without stressing or worrying about a thing.

This was the whole family’s favorite part of our trip. Our guide, Sophia, grew up in the region and was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna but also the history of the region on both a personal and broader level and is completely fearless! The lodge was clean, comfortable with great food and right where the river dolphins liked to hang out. And all the logistics were perfectly managed. I highly recommend Joshua’s expeditions and ask for Sophia as your guide!

Went on a three day trip in Dec 25 Sophia and Gustavo were excellent guides very knowledgeable and really friendly. The trip lived up to our expectations and we really enjoyed it

Our trip and stay at the Amazon floating lodge was an extraordinary experience. From hotel pick up in Manaus and travel to deep inside the Amazon to the floating lodge, and then back to Manaus was seamlessly organized. The lodge was comfortable, the food was simple and very tasty, the staff were polite and helpful, and to top it all our extremely knowledgeable guide (Cobra) for the canoe trips. Cobra's English speaking skills were very impressive, and we told him that, and he accepted that with great humility. We had a great experience.

The only area that needs attention - our toilet flush was not working very well, but we managed after borrowing a bucket.

A trip to the Amazon has been on my bucket list for years and Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions ensured my trip fit my dream, and my abilities (elder woman with some mobility limitations). Somehow, I was blessed with my own guide—his awesomeness Kenrick LaCruz—and our own boat driver for the 3-night, 4-day Amazon adventure at the Tapiri Floating Lodge. This tour was a full four days! They picked me up at the Manaus airport, then by van, ferry, and small boat we made the trip to Tapiri Floating Lodge. The highlight for me was camping overnight in the jungle in hammocks. Kenrick cooked our dinner of fresh fish. He roasted some cashews he had picked that day. The toucans chattered overhead. It was perfect! I enjoyed all tours on the trip—piranha fishing, visit to local village, night viewing of caiman, hiking into the jungle with surprises & Kenrick sharing his knowledge of the flora & fauna, nighttime spearfishing. All travel was by motorized boat. I learned a lot & highly recommend Joshua’s and my guide, Kenrick LaCruz!

We had an amazing 2-night trip in the jungle and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Our guide Kenrick was fantastic. Very cool, experienced, and clearly passionate about what he does. He and his colleague worked perfectly together and you can really feel how well they know the jungle.

What makes this tour special is how deep you actually go into the rainforest. There are no paths out there, everything is opened up with the machete as you move through the jungle, which feels incredibly authentic and adventurous. You honestly can’t get deeper into the jungle than this.

The mornings started with delicious fresh coffee, and the food, even though simple, was really good and all prepared on site. Everything felt genuine and handmade. The rainforest itself is stunning, and spending time out there away from everything was truly unique.

Another big plus: on request, you can shape the experience individually. Kenrick is very flexible and adapts the trip to what you want to do.

I can recommend this tour to absolutely everyone who wants a real Amazon adventure, it’s an incredible experience and 100% worth it.

From the pick up at the hotel to the Lodge every segment of the trip with boat, bus and boat again was greatly organized. The lodge is well located at a river where dolphins pass bye. Do not expect luxury but the rooms are clean and airconditioned with enough space. The food was honest home made food which all tasted well with a lot of fish from the riverside . Cobra our guide who grew up and has spent his whole lives in the jungle was great explaining us wild live and spotted animals where you would not expect them. The jungle tour by foot was great to learn about wildlife and fauna and much more than spotting a few animals. It was a great experience.
