7 day warranty only - Beware!

A great website with so many products for sale and fast delivery, what more can you ask for? Just hope it doesn't go wrong after 7 days

Order #6800 Kaemingk LED Light Up Tree 300cm
Received Middle of November and being a Christmas decoration was setup outside 6th December. Three evenings later it would not switch on and is just not working.

An email to Kahari on the 9th December asking the best way forwards to getting it replaced was answered with:

"As per our returns policy if an item has a fault you have to report it in 7 days of receiving the item and then you have 30 days to return the item on this occasion its way outside 7 days but if you return the item back to us we will give you a refund i hope this answers your question."

Providing I return it at my own cost, yes they will give me a refund but I would prefer to have the item repaired or replaced and also not have to pay for delivery back to them for an item which is just less than a month old and had only three evenings use.

I called the support number at the bottom of their email to be told the T&Cs on their website is that you must report a faulty item within 7 days and return it to them within 30 days for a refund. Even though the product is faulty, the warranty is with the manufacturer and not with Kahari so contact the manufacturer if I want it replaced or repaired.

So the long and short of it is that, if you have bought anything from kahari more than 7 days ago and it goes faulty, you will be lucky to get any joy out of them for a replacement or refund. They are not concerned with customer care and put the duty of warranty on the manufacturer.

I won't be buying again from Kahari when they have no customer care after 7 days.

I appreciate that they have offered a refund on the item even though it is after their 7 day rule. but as it is still within the 30 day period of purchase, I think this is covered by our consumer rights anyway regardless of their 7 days rule so they have to offer a refund.

I know they are not Amazon, Argos or any other major store but to have to ship it back at my own cost of around £15 is terrible when so many other companies will arrange Yodel or DHL etc for a collection.
