Kam and his team at the Spire eye centre are excellent. Had retinal peel and recently cataract surgery. Dealing with Debbie his secretary through to the nurses is so easy. On the day surgery is well explained and all after care well explained. My eye sight has improved enormously.

I had a cataract form on my right eye, which is my main eye for clay shooting . This hindered me from doing my chosen sport , and everyday life.
I was given Mr Balaggans details by my optician, as one of only two people in the country he would trust to do my operation .
From the first details everything was so professional and easy to go through . My first meeting we discussed which lense I would need, fully explained to me . The op was booked , and carried out to the highest standard , with all aftercare fully explained .
After only a week after my op I have been for my follow up with Mr Balaggan, and I can now see two rows of letters better than 20-20 vision! This is with 5 more weeks of healing to go.

Mr Balaggan repaired my macular hole which was of great concern to me, coming out of the blue.

Mr Balaggan was a calming professional who took time to explain each step and give a sensible best and worst case scenario. He assured me that he would do his very best to close a "Very Large" macular hole I presented with.
I underwent surgery within two weeks and the care and reassurance that both the operation and the aftercare afforded was simply, second to none.
Mr Balaggans expertise has resulted in a successful closure of my macular hole and I have no hestiation in 100% recommending him to anyone requiring eye surgery. I am delighted with the results.

I have been diagnosed a Macular Hole on my left eye in March,waited for nearly two months ,heard nothing from NHS,driven by fear went back to China to get victrectomy done on my left eye,but somehow it failed,the hole didn't close.Came back to England,got an appointment within another hospital,they didn't want to know about it,said it is too complicated.finally got an appointment with Mr Balaggan,felt like he is God send to me to save my eye.When I seen Mr Balaggan in early September,suddenly found my right eye developed a macular hole,Mr Balaggan is highly skilled Ophthalmic Surgeon,he is so professional and kind,explained everything to me,and advised me get the right eye victrectomy done first,and then left eye,after two successful operations,specially the left victrectomy was so difficult and complicated, I have been discharged two days ago,I really appreciated and can't thank him enough,Mr Balaggan has saved both of my eyes and give me my life back.

My excellent optician diagnosed a Macular Hole.
I was recommended to Mr Balaggan, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at my local Nuffield Hospital.
Mr Balaggan carefully and throughly explained my condition and the possible outcome. He recommended a Vitrectomy. I consented to this procedure. This was carried out as soon as possible at Spire hospital Little Aston.
Mr Balaggan carried out the surgery.
I have been highly delighted with Mr. Balaggan who is a first class eye surgeon with vast experience and knowledge in his field and also a considerate and caring person.
After a follow up consultation/examination I have now been discharged.

I was treated by Mr Balaggan following a routine eye examination which highlighted a bleed at the back of my eye. Following tests, Mr Balaggan diagnosed Central Retinal Vein Occlusion, related to macular oedema, which requires ongoing Eylea eye injections.

I was panicked about the injections, but Mr Balaggan put me at ease with his calm confidence and gentle manner. He clearly explained conditions and procedures and took time to answer any questions. I have received 4 injections so far: all have gone smoothly. My eyesight has improved dramatically, thanks to his input.

Mr Balaggan is highly professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He referred me to two other specialists to find the cause of the bleeds. According to the nurses in the department, he is top of his field and fabulous to work with.
