Nightmare Quality of Service
Original Review (5 stars):
I placed an order with this shop early last week, there was a 1–3 days initial period for stock to arrive, then add on Royal Mail strikes and as at today the stock has not even been received by them at the moment.
In the meantime I had some other orders placed, filled and delivered all the way from the Netherlands 🤣
At the moment all is forgiven as the prices are very good and they have managed to beat established players on price for the specific kit I am after; I think this is their main edge. If you can wait, then it is ok to buy from this shop.
Update as at 7 December:
After writing this review with 5 stars, I have been asked by the shop via an automated email to file another review at eKomi, just like this one. In that review, I gave them 3 stars based on the following factors:
1. First order placed 22 November, requested cancellation as erroneous address used and can’t be changed, company advised BACS refund will be used, refund not received until 6 December, via PayPal (original payment method). The company did not mention what happened with the previously arranged refund method.
2. Second order placed 23 November, confirmed shipped on 2 December (there was no interim update regarding availability)
In my new review, I implied:
1. PayPal authorise & capture method not used, funds were captured immediately in one step (this is a comment on the implementation of the checkout flow)
2. Shop didn’t have stock on hand, as stock was ordered from supplier, otherwise they’d have met the 1-3 days dispatch timeline (this was confirmed in the email from the shop owner, who implied that since there were Royal Mail strikes in UK, these extra days added to delivery were outside the shop’s control)
Director [[15 Dec 2022 - REDACTED UPON REQUEST TRUSTPILOT BY SHOP]] of the shop’s controlling entity [[15 Dec 2022 - REDACTED UPON REQUEST THROUGH TRUSTPILOT BY SHOP]], did not take this lightly, and sent me an email stating that they were very disappointed by the review, that I should not have called them a drop-shipper because stock were sent from their warehouse, and that this kind of review was not helpful in difficult trading conditions, which I understood fully.
I have therefore replied to the shop re-stating my view, that as a gesture of goodwill I will request my eKomi review to be taken down, and that this would be my final email regarding the matter.
Despite my request for them to not contact me anymore, I received an email again on the next day, with Mr [[15 Dec 2022 - REDACTED UPON REQUEST TRUSTPILOT BY SHOP]] implying that my review is potentially malicious (in writing). I therefore replied asking if there is something they wanted me to do, and received the following response:
“We don't require you to do anything else. We are entitled to voice our opinion just like you did, although yours is factually incorrect, malicious, and not helpful to anyone. We have nothing further to add.”
In early December the shop disputed this review via Trustpilot and requested the name of the controlling entity and name of the director removed.
As I have on average spent £10k a year on parts (this year to date well over £20k) I have now decided to source my components elsewhere even if it means a slight markup.
