Knose Pet Insurance Claims - Very Easy to Claim

Very easy to deal with Knose On-Line system to lodge a claim. The turnaround of reimbursement is quick and the Benefit Statement clear on how the claim was processed and payment made.

Knose - Now the Worst Insurer on the Market

When we joined Knose in 2022 they were really good. Claims were paid within 5 working days, sometimes as fast as 24 hours.
We then started breeding our dogs and recommended Knose to all of our new puppy owners.
We have 3 dogs, all insured with Knose as we thought we were in good hands.
However over the last 6 months, they have taken over a month to process claims and that is with multiple phone calls asking for updates.
We would no longer recommend them and will be moving to another insurer shortly.

Following our recent conversation, I’m glad we were able to finalise your claims and provide some clarity around the outcome.

We also want to be transparent that over the past few months, some customers have experienced longer claims turnaround times than usual. This is due to our transition to a new claims platform, which will ultimately allow for faster processing, improved tracking, and additional services. However, running systems in parallel during this period has been more complex than anticipated and has temporarily impacted processing times.
We take full responsibility for this and recognise that we have fallen short of the service standard our customers expect. To address this, we are actively increasing our claims capacity and working through the backlog as quickly as possible.

We unfortunately lost a new "Fur" Family Member recently & from the moment we made contact with Knose to recover some of the inevitable vet costs that arise with emergency after-hours care we were treated with compassion & professionalism! The staff at Knose guided us through the claim process & kept us informed throughout & the claim was settled quickly & fuss-free!

They are ok, when your dog is a puppy and young with a very low risk of veterinary claims. However, as your dog gets older, one day they just DOUBLE your premium with no reason, just in case.

They have just increased my premium by 92%. I have been with them for 5 years and paid them way more than what I claimed. My dog is 6 (not even a senior dog) and healthy- visiting vet twice per year preventatively (for yearly vaccinations, yearly health check ups and around 6 monthly preventative skin injections as she is a white doggie who can have a sensitive skin (no emergencies). My premium had been increased by $15-20 per month each year, which was reasonable given the inflation etc. However, the increase went suddenly up out of nowhere by almost $100 , exactly from $102 to 194.21 per month (with $200) excess. When I asked for their policy and calculations, they refused to provide that saying just general reason, which Mr google had already told me. Instead they advised me that if I will change insurer, everything my dog received a treatment for would be considered a preexisting condition (And this is exactly why they know they can charge you suddenly anything, because then you have no option then either pay or stay without insurance). They advised to increase my excess, which will decrease premium. I cancelled my policy, because if they can increase whatever they want, even double it, what will I pay in 2-3 year time? Would it be suddenly $500, $600, or ?$800 per month? Ridiculous.

And to everyone who is writing a positive review saying they are happy with Knose- wait another year or two, when your premium will suddenly double or triple for no reason other than inflation, vet costs increasing and your doggie being one year older.

In addition to Knose's response to my review: While Knose team has written openly in their blogs about how increasing prices works, they only mention 15 to 20 percent increase at renewal. They somehow forgot to mention that the increase can be anything to 100 % or maybe even more in a single year. This is a critical detail that should be communicated clearly beforehand so pet owners can make truly informed decisions when choosing a pet insurance company. If veterinary costs are rising by approximately 5–9% annually, a 15–20% insurance increase may be understandable and expected. However, 100% rise is unexpected, unreasonable and extremely greedy.

And how will the team help to adjust policy settings other than suggesting increasing excess and letting consumers know that this is the only option as they are stuck with Knose as mentioned above. So yes, they'd love the chance to help, but to help themselves to grab as much money as possible. They do not care about anything else.

Still waiting no updates...

Still waiting to hear back about a claim I put in almost a month ago! I'm not sure what is going on as it has never previously taken this long but it is the lack of communication and updates which is frustrating. Doesn't take long to shoot through a quick message to say they're working on it or still awaiting vet notes etc. I too have sent emails to chase this up but no response...

Pointless!

Knose consider everything a "pre-existing condition" and will not pay.
They only pay if your dog cuts its self or get hurt but then they put your premiums up.
Slow to respond and rude.
Pointless to have, just have your money.

Filled a claim back in October 2025

Filled a claim back in October 2025, it’s currently January 2026 and we never heard back. Good thing it wasn’t an expensive claim… otherwise we would’ve been absolutely screwed over.
This is a farse of a company.

Defaintly not worth it.

I have my other pet insured with RCPCA they approved the claim in literaly 10 minutes while I waited at the vet. Knose was initially rejection, then I had to bring in clauses from their own PDS to their claims department they approved the claim after many months. The premiums are roughly on par. Very worried if it became a expensive claim.

I have been with Knose since 2022

I have been with Knose since 2022, my first claim took a little while but that was the first time my dog had allergies, so they were getting the reports from the vet. Since then, claims are in done within a day. I highly recommend Knose and every email they ask how my dog is.

I had high hopes about this company…

I had high hopes about this company that initially had good reviews. I have only now got a first claim in for one cat, the other I am onto my second and they are both small claims. I think they have been insured for over two years. What I get is obsfucation, lying about laws and regulations and lack of response. I will be really sad if a big claim came in because I imagine that would take weeks and months to just be assessed. This is not the great pet insurance that we needed in Australia sadly. Just like all the rest

Don't expect a fast claims process

Don't expect a fast claims process. Brace yourself for paying upfront followed by a 2 month wait to get a reimbursement. I also wouldn't recommend Knose if your dog as ever reverse sneezed. My little puppy had some reverse sneezing over 9 months ago and now after making a claim they have placed a pre-existing medical exclusion on him for "Allergic Rhinitis". He has never been diagnosed with any allergy and his small episode of reverse sneezing was self limiting. I know it's hard to find an insurance company that behaves with integrity but I'd encourage people not to settle for knose pet insurance. I'd also like to note they just increased the cost of pet insurance by 20%. My monthly home and contents insurance is less than my monthly Knose Pet Insurance. Definitely leaving them
