I bought the Launch Diagin v x431 bi- directional scan tool off of Amazon. The functions this tool are capable of very greatly depending on the vehicle you're working on. Some vehicles you can program new keys, on some it does not work or is not offered. That's the theme using this tool. It may or may not do what you're looking for it to do which can be a bit frustrating.
The real frustration comes after your "free updates" run out after one or 2 years. I was mislead before purchasing this tool. It advertised indicating the tool would still function the same without updating it would just not download new vehicle info. This is not the truth at all. Without "free updates " any function that requires using wifi is disabled. Almost all functions on this tool orequire wifi. To "update" this tool for one year is around $350. If you dont, you can read and delete codes like any $15 scan tool. Thats about it.Im don't know if all scan tools are a huge rip off like this one is but $350 a year for a tool that may or may not have the functions you need it to is steep if you ask me!
