Love these dresses

Love these dresses, so flattering on all shapes and sizes. Material feels thick and not see through or thin. Creasing is a concern but other than that they are perfect!

Good quality but very large

The dress arrived quickly and the fabric and colour were excellent. However, it was much larger than the size on the size chart so my bridesmaid will need to have it fitted on the waist and chest. The dress was also super long but I am guessing that’s on purpose to allow for alterations. Good business and would recommend, but worth sizing down.

Great experience from start to finish

From my first contact with the company I knew it was going to be a great experience, my questions were answered immediately. My swatches arrived quickly and I was happy with the quality of the fabric. When the girls had decided what they wanted and orders went in the delivery was dispatched within a few days. And as they live in different parts of the country it worked perfectly.
The dress we received is beautiful Emerald green Kitty, the fabric is even softer than the swatch, the size is a true fit (size 12) the dresses are long so great for tall girls too.
I would highly recommend Maids.

Good quality dresses but poor customer service!

Ordered a bridesmaid dress from here and loved it. Quality was great. I then ordered a shawl to match but this never arrived. After 3 weeks with no information, I reached out to them to ask where it was as the wedding was fast approaching. Then they cancelled my order due to no stock but never bothered to contact me with an apology or explanation. If I never contacted them, they would have kept my money.

Hi Holly, Hope you are well. Thank you so much for reaching out, unfortunately we had an issue with our outgoing emails to customers with Hotmail email Addresses. We emailed you on the 15th April to explain that we were waiting a while to see if our warehouse team could find a replacement item for you but sadly the item was still out of stock. We presume that sadly this email did not make it to you. Huge apologies for the lack of Communication and we are terribly sorry that we could not fulfil the order of the shawl.

Please never waste your money here

Please never waste your money here. They do not have a complaints process and cannot respond to your emails in their 48 hour window. Wait a week if you are lucky.

I haven't had my full refund and they say I took one of the dresses from my bundle of 6... Despite the confirmation email stating they have all 6 dresses and so only sent me a partial refund!

Do not waste your time or get your money stolen. Only buy on your credit card so they can deal with them in the end.

Frustrating experience

My sister decided to shop here for her maid of honour dress for my wedding - she visited in store and didn’t appear to have any issues.
They had said in store that I could order a matching bow for my flower girl, which I did. I unfortunately ordered the wrong colour and they did kindly offer to send me a refund, but it’s been nothing but difficult communication since.
I ordered the correct colour bow, only to have to email 2 weeks later as I had not received the item or a dispatch email for them to tell me they don’t actually have it in stock, or have any plans to get it back in stock. Had I not chased it, I still wouldn’t have the item I ordered or be aware that there are no plans for it to be delivered. I am still waiting on the refund of the initial bow (nearly a month later) and they have only done a partial refund for the bow that was never even dispatched as they’ve still charged me delivery. The most frustrating part of this is the constant chasing, only to receive a short one line reply with little explanation or detail.
I will be giving up on the bow and will make other arrangements. Given they are primarily aimed at weddings, which is a time of lots of organisation & planning anyway, I would avoid as it’s likely to add to your stress levels!
Totally understand there can be issues with stock & processing refunds can take a bit of time… but decent communication goes a long way!

Hi Kristina, we are so sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience ordering the Sage bow with us. Unfortunately when you placed the order our website had a small glitch which showed stock of the bow when it should not have, so we can only apologise for this. We can see that on the 20th March you got in contact with us to chase the order of the bow, our warehouse team were trying to keep a look out for any returns of this item to use to fulfil the order but sadly it did not come back into stock. We refunded you on the 20th March for the bow and the postage on the 21st March. Once again huge apologies that you had an unsatisfactory experience and we appreciate the feedback.

Hugely disappointing

I wanted to come and write about the reality of dealing with this company, although it seems a lot of people have had similar experiences.

Organising a wedding is already very stressful and dealing with Maids has added to it.

Now the wedding is over I wanted to highlight my experience.

I ordered 2x bridesmaid dresses based on the fact I was told they were on preorder to arrive end of March before I flew to Mallorca for the wedding mid April. End of March came and no dresses arrived so I emailed (no phone number to contact which is ridiculous in this day and age). It was unnecessary added stress. They replied saying, ‘sadly orders made earlier has pushed yours back slightly’ to the 1st May!!!! So after the wedding!!!! As you can imagine I was majorly panicking and it genuinely ruined the lead up to the wedding. Not once did they pick up the phone to apologise or help rectify the situation, which is something I would have appreciated rather than emails back and fourth. Although they managed to get them to me in the end, if I had not asked they wouldn’t have told me my order was pushed back??? I don’t recommend using maids, the communication is bad and the added stress was awful, it should be stress-free! I also think their name is misleading as you cannot get the dresses made to size.

Honestly should be a much better service and it’s really disappointing!

Dresses lovely but delivery & returns process feels outdated

The dresses are beautiful but I wouldn't recommend this company if you live outside of London where you can visit the flagship store for fittings. Note that you can go as a group (if you manage to get a time) for £25 or get fittings for free if bridesmaids are visiting solo.

The postage is £10 each time and the returns process is difficult with no option to exchange if the size is not correct. Instead, you must repurchase the additional sizes and wait up to 10 days for money to come back to your account for any dresses returned.

When making returns, you are required to use Royal Mail and either drop the dress off or book a collection; you are also liable for the dress(es) if they do not arrive.

I have multiple bridesmaids who live in different locations and will need to order multiple size options.

I love the dresses and hope it will be worth it but I expect this to be a time and money consuming exercise.

Thank you for your feedback and have now made midweek appointments complimentary so our appointments are available for everyone, we have also extended our hours so we can see more groups. We are a small independent business so see as many groups as we can but do have a waiting list as we are so fully booked.We have amended our shipping costs and I believe our returns period is pretty standard and always try to do things as quick as we can. On a positive we're so happy you love the dresses : )

A missing dress, no reply to emails, Live chat give you the run around

Really bad customer service.

1 dress was not delivered, 1 attempted delivery was made by the courier and then it went missing.

Repeat 1 attempted delivery was made

- there was no reply to emails
- no confirmation of order email, therefore I had no tracking info or order number
- Live chat initially told me it was my issue to sort out as the courier said it hadbeen delivered, legally, that is not the case and I even had to send them links to the couries website and T&Cs before they did anything. Attitude was super argumentative and lazy
- Live chat told me it was impossible to get a copy of the chat transcript (wrong, I worked out how to do it myself)
I asked them to email me the order confirmation, live chat operator said "i dont know how to do that"!!!
- Live chat told me it was on the way back to them and then it would be shipped straight back. 25 days after the order and they have no idea where my dress is.
Once I asked for a refund (as you are entitled to when an item deosn't arrive after 30 days) suddenly they were offering to call the couriers to check where it is.....

I find it shocking that 3 years later they are trying to contest this review and have it removed. I wonder if they are doing the same for any positive reviews? I find this disgusting.

Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately sometimes whilst we send things out our end, Royal Mail can make mistakes, as your dress was delivered and signed for at your address it was not straight forward but i have checked and can see you were refunded. We would always replace but as this was a sale dress we didn't have a replacement. In this instance we did everything we could and were let down by our courier.
