Their service is absolutely horrible. They deliver items separately. Then cancel the order and initiate a refund after 7 days of no update. Why approve a payment on something you don’t have??

Online Order Distaster
I placed an order online on 29 Sept 2025. All good for delivery. A week later, only half of it was ready & the other product was still stuck on “processing.” After a couple of calls, we were told the supplier is out of stock & we’d be refunded. Fine. No stress.
The rest of the order was supposedly on its way, so we waited. More calls later, we heard the couriers tried collecting a few times but couldn’t because the order wasn’t complete… so they cancelled the collection.
Another call. They said they’d now cancel everything & refund the full amount.
It’s 1 December 2025. The order still shows as “in transit.” No refund. No clear answers. We’ve phoned so many times & each time it’s “escalated,” but no one ever gets back to us.
I’m honestly disappointed in this whole process.

I ordered a fridge on the 30 Oct and it has been saying “item is ready to be shipped” I eventually tried to cancel the order by the 10th Nov because nothing was happening and I needed a fridge. I have been calling everyday to have the same conversation and recently (24 Nov) got a call from the courier telling me that they delivered (a lie) yet on the site it still says my order is ready to be shipped. They refuse to cancel and refund me my money. I spend my days buying airtime to call them everyday and have not received any new news for the whole of November now.

Bought R7800. 00 washing machine in store at Montague Gardens, Milnerton. Was promised delivery next day. Spent whole of next day trying to get someone to speak to me about my delivery. The Delivery manager said the driver could not contact me, what absolute lies, I was at home and received NO calls. Called 13 times, call kept on being put down. Their service is disgusting, no one will help and I still do not have my delivery. NEVER SHOP there, they are completely incompetent!!!!
Don't bother ordering unless you're willing to wait forever only for your order to be cancelled.
I placed an order on the 4th of November and to date have not received the items. After 2 calls I am now told on the 25th of November that their supplier does not have stock and i will be refunded in 10 to 14 days. It seems that they now order from their supplier once you order and pay. The customer service is appalling.
Horrible product service experience
I am writing this with absolute outrage and utter disgust at the shocking level of service I have received from Makro. I purchased a product that was blatantly misrepresented — a textbook case of false advertising. What was promised and what was delivered are worlds apart, and to this day I am still waiting for the correct product that I rightfully paid for.
What makes this situation even more infuriating is the complete lack of accountability. Despite repeated attempts, I have been stonewalled at every turn, unable to speak directly to higher management. It is as if Makro has built a fortress to shield itself from its own customers, leaving us to deal with empty promises and endless frustration.
This is not just poor service — it is a disgrace. A company of Makro’s size should be ashamed to treat paying customers with such disregard. The silence, the delays, and the refusal to escalate the matter to someone competent are unacceptable.
Since Makro refuses to resolve this matter through proper channels, I will now take this public. I will be posting this complaint on social media platforms to ensure that others are warned about the misleading advertising and the appalling customer service I have endured.
Makro, you have not only lost my trust, but you have also shown that customer satisfaction is clearly not a priority. I demand immediate resolution and delivery of the correct product without further delay.
Enough is enough.
Awful service
Placed an online order and paid. They said they didn't receive payment and canceled the order. I have sent them details and proof of payment 5 times. They are now ignoring me more than 3 weeks later...
Wrong Item Delivered – Extremely Frustrating Service
I ordered a Condere fan online for R800 (original price R1600), but Makro delivered the completely wrong fan — a R399 model that is far cheaper and not at all what I ordered.
Since this fan was only available online, I expected Makro to handle the order correctly. Now I have to return the incorrect item, wait 14 days for a refund, and go through the entire order process again. This is unnecessarily complicated and frustrating.
I expected Makro to take responsibility for their mistake and provide a faster, more efficient solution. This experience has been disappointing, time-consuming, and stressful, and I hope Makro improves their online service to prevent this from happening to other customers.

Purchasing an item that they have on their website, only to be told that the seller doesn't have the item. The money has been paid and they are earning interest meanwhile while they can't deliver the item. Don't shop on Makro online!!!!

I'm absolutely disappointed by Makro, why do you even advertise specials only to not deliver accordingly. my recent order was not delivered in full there are some items missing and I queried this immediately and even provided proof but I'm being given the run around with either getting my items delivered or getting a refund. communication sucks from their side and I'm being told different stories everyday. Makro must really do better....

"Someone’s in a Makro Mood"? Yeah, because Makro put me in one.
I went to Makro to buy an oven that was on special. They were out of stock and couldn’t be bothered to help me find one. I was told to order it online, so I did. Big mistake. Their delivery partner, WumDrop, is hands down the worst service I’ve ever dealt with.
On 5 November, I got a call saying my order was ready and asking if I was available. I confirmed, and the delivery never came. The driver ignored my calls after the second attempt. A week later they’ve changed my delivery date three times. Every day it’s “tomorrow,” and every day nothing happens.
When I called WumDrop they admitted the order hadn’t even been handed to a driver, after Makro confirmed twice that it would be delivered.
Avoid ordering online from Makro at all costs. The service is a complete disaster and will absolutely put you in a “Makro mood,” and trust me, it’s not a mood anyone wants to be in.
Priced raised 10 days AFTER I paid!!!
On 01 November 2025, I bought a foldable wardrobe online, for R456.
This morning (10 days later) they cancelled my order and raised the price of the item to R1 200.
No communication in between, just a discrete refund.
Section 23 of the Consumer Protection Act prohibits this conduct.
I incurred bank charges in processing the purchase. I also bought items I did not need, in order to qualify for free delivery.
Does the refund consider all this? You guessed it.... NO.
If this isn't unethical, I don't know what is.
Worst online experience at Makro - product still not delivered
We ordered a gazebo with Marko online on 15 October 2025, after 3 weeks of follow ups we still have not received our product. With Makro telling us its with the third-party and courier and there is nothing they can do. Makro even went as far to give us the courier drivers number to call ourselves every day to follow up. Even with that we don't know where our parcel is, the courier does not respond anymore and says they do not have our parcel and Makro is not taking any responsibility to follow up and resolve this. We cannot get our refund, and we don't have our parcel. I would advise anyone to avoid buying online at Makro. You will never get your order
Abysmal After-Sales Service and Zero Communication from Makro Cornubia - Avoid at All Costs!
My experience with Makro Cornubia has been an absolute nightmare, defined by a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and basic customer respect.
I purchased a freezer which, upon delivery, had visible scratches and was immediately returned with the delivery team. This is where the service evaporated. No one from the store bothered to call me to confirm the return or advise when a replacement would be delivered.
After days of silence, I took the initiative to call the Makro Cornubia branch multiple times and sent several emails, all of which were ignored. When I finally reached a representative named Terrence, he asked for the query details and the name of the salesperson, which I provided as Litisha Reddy (Employee ID 4281). Terrence put me on hold to connect me with her, but Ms. Reddy outright refused to take the call. I was left waiting on hold for almost 20 minutes before the call was abruptly cut. There was no follow-up from anyone.
It has been days since the initial purchase and return, and I am still without a working freezer and without any form of reliable communication from the store management or sales staff. The indifference shown by the Makro Cornubia team, particularly Litisha Reddy, is shocking.
If you value your time and expect a basic level of customer service, I strongly advise you to shop elsewhere. This experience has highlighted the dire state of their after-sales support and the contempt they have for their customers once a sale is made. I will be escalating this matter with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.

The wrong order arrived, I sent it back because it was a spinning bike and I have a disability and disability and I could not settle for that and it was half the price.
I received my refund and now I need to order it again because I took the money from my road accident fund. I need proof that I've received it because they take the invoice as proof to court.
Iv asked customer care via email and I have phoned them more than 15 times, to be told the the supplier send the incorrect bike and it's not on special any more.
