I bought a MiniBrew Gen 3 in June, as a total newbie to brewing. Since purchasing it, I’ve been brewing my first beer, a stout. The device and app are perfect for beginners! I had a few smaller struggles with details, eg proper fixation of the ball lock connectors during carbonation. Bart, the MiniBrew support guru, went out of his way to help me, answering even messages I sent on the weekend asking for support. So hat it’s been a fabulous journey into the basics of brewing.

Firstly, may I say that I am getting on in years, and my abilities when it comes to technology can be somewhat daunting. I had watched the Minibrew product for quite a few years and had seen it evolve over the internet. I was always too nervous to dip my toe in the water until March this year, when I finally thought to myself, "Go on, have a go and see where this takes you."
From the day my Minibrew arrived and I unpacked the box, I was completely taken aback by the quality of the materials and equipment inside. Everything is so well made and incredibly sturdy. This certainly wasn't a product that was going to fall apart after the first use. I can already tell that I am going to get many, many years of enjoyment from it because of the care and attention the designers have put into creating it. The Minibrew is a complete work of art!
I did find it difficult getting the product up and running with the app, but that was simply because of my own lack of confidence with technology. I reached out to Bart at Minibrew, and he went well above and beyond the call of duty to get me up and running. Bart even gave me a personal phone call here in the United Kingdom to make sure I was setting everything up correctly. I certainly didn't expect that level of customer service. What a great guy!
Whenever I have had a question that needed answering, Bart has always been there on the online chat to help. I realise that the Minibrew team are extremely busy, but Bart has consistently gone out of his way to make sure I was happy and moving forward with my brewing projects.
I have now made several brews and have, so to speak, taken my stabilisers off. I now feel completely comfortable making my brews using the app, which is simply brilliant. I just do what it tells me, and the Minibrew does the rest.
After making my first brew, I couldn't believe the quality and taste of the beer it produced. The finished beer genuinely exceeded my expectations. It tasted every bit as good as many of the commercial craft beers I have bought over the years, and that alone made the investment worthwhile. I am so, so, so very happy!
Thank you personally, Bart, for always being there to help. I am sure you will continue to support me whenever I need assistance.
Minibrew, you have created a product that deserves to be right at the very top of the home brewing world. You have made an old man very happy indeed!
As an added note, Bart recommended that I purchase my Minibrew kits here in the UK from The Malt Miller. They have also been absolutely fantastic and have been incredibly helpful whenever I have needed advice or supplies. I would highly recommend that anyone in the UK takes a look at them, especially for Minibrew brew kits and accessories.

Koop hier absoluut niets! Het proces bij MiniBrew is van begin tot eind één grote frustrerende nachtmerrie waarin loze beloftes en het negeren van consumentenrechten centraal staan.
Het begon al bij de verzending van mijn bestelling, waarvan ik wekenlang niet op de hoogte werd gesteld. Vervolgens bleek het retourproces ook een drama. Pas na herhaaldelijk aandringen en loze beloftes over labels die "aan het einde van de dag" zouden komen (wat uiteindelijk ruim 10 dagen duurde!), kreeg ik eindelijk de verzendinstructies. De twee pakketten (met een totale waarde van ruim € 600,-) zijn daarna netjes teruggestuurd en aantoonbaar op 7 en 8 mei bij hen bezorgd.
De wettelijke terugbetalingstermijn van 14 dagen is door MiniBrew ruim overschreden. Toen ik op 20 mei zelf weer verhaal ging halen, beloofde support-medewerker Bart zwart-op-wit dat de "inspectie" uiterlijk die week daarna afgerond zou zijn en het finance team direct zou storten. Daarna bleef het echter wéér wekenlang stil. Interne processen zoals een inspectie zijn juridisch geen geldig excuus om consumenten zo lang op hun geld te laten wachten.
Ik heb uiteindelijk moeten dreigen met het overdragen van de zaak aan mijn rechtsbijstandverzekering, Shopify en de ACM. Pas na deze concrete juridische waarschuwing en meer dan 5 weken gezeik staat het geld nu eindelijk op mijn rekening.
Het is werkelijk bizar dat je er als klant zó hard achteraan moet zitten om te krijgen waar je wettelijk recht op hebt. Het geld is nu gelukkig binnen, maar je bent gewaarschuwd: zodra je betaling (via iDEAL) binnen is, ben je als klant lucht voor dit bedrijf.

I had made a new charge beer. But I could not see it on my software. So I send a mail for help.
This was yesterday.
This morning Bart from Minibrew helped my to solve the problem. The system was stopped and Bart put the keg again in the fermentation mode and I saw the keg back in my software.
This was a very fast and professional help from Minibrew. Wel done and thanks for the good service.

I ordered the MiniBrew around July last year and have still not brewed a single drop of beer. Firstly there were numerous wifi connection problems which were blamed on my router purely because it's a Hub 1. Surely some kind of fix could be put in place? I was eventually asked to return the machine for testing. The replacement I received turned out to be a reconditioned unit. Obviously having paid for a new machine I was expecting a new machine. The reconditioned unit did not operate properly in the rinsing stage and appears to have a faulty pump. I am now being told that a server upgrade has caused even more problems, but no mention was made of the faulty pump in my reconditioned device or my request for a complete new machine to fix this problem. This whole experience has been a catalogue of disasters from start to finish. I cannot recommend this company or product based on my own experience which has been nothing short of stressful, and I am now considering seeking legal redress against MiniBrew as this shambles simply cannot go on.
The equipment itself is simple and easy to use, lightweight, easy to transport and store. However, the system, its software, is quite rigid; after starting the brewing process, the system is intuitive and completely automatic, However, if you want or need to make any changes to the brewing or fermentation process, you have to pay a high price for a subscription, or it's practically impossible, always requiring you to send an email, Chat or any other time-consuming means of communication that they sometimes need to resolve remotely.
When I purchased the equipment, I thought I would have a bit more freedom to operate the product. The subscription fee becomes expensive for someone who brews once a month and wants more "freedom". For those who want access to recipes or support, it becomes restricted to an automated system with no possibility of changing anything at any point during fermentation.

Ik heb bijna een maand geleden een cadeau besteld voor me vader bij mini Brew en hebben daarvan 1 ding ontvangen en het hele brouwpakket nog niet. Als ik een mailtje stuur krijg ik alleen maar te horen dat het vers word gemaakt en dat het uit Duitsland komt. Meer krijg ik niet te horen. Hele slechte service!

Communication from Minibrew and thinking along with me as a customer has improved a lot better. They explained the backlog in their logistics and helped me to get started brewing through their pro-tier which is possible as long you have the ingredients to start (which you can buy in any brewing-shop).

In December-2025 I enthusiastically purchased a Minibrew machine. I was really looking forward to brewing my first beer during the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, that still hasn’t happened to this day.
After the purchase, I had to wait over a month for a brewing kit (and i’m still waiting and not receiving any replies). Without such a kit, the machine is simply unusable. Customer service indicated that other kits were in stock and would be shipped, but over two weeks have passed since then and I still haven’t received anything.
What makes this even more frustrating is that further communication from the company has completely stopped. Emails go unanswered and promises are not kept.
The machine looks great and promising, but so far I have literally been unable to do anything with it. The disappointment is huge—especially because this was the moment I had been looking forward to. For a product in this price range, this level of customer service is simply unacceptable.
Totalt värdelöst. Uppfyllde inte mina förväntningar och jag har till och med skickat tillbaka då jag ångrade mitt köp. Nu går det inte att få tag på leverantören och jag har en faktura som ligger som ska betalas….

Update 16/10/2025 - The response since my complaint has been much improved, thanks Minibrew for taking ownership over my issues and taking steps to address them. I'll update again once i've received the remaining parts of my order.

I ordered the Minibrew Craft Gen 3 on 3rd September, along with an extra Gen 3 keg. The offer included a starter kit and two free recipe packs, which I was excited to use to get brewing.
Unfortunately, the order process has been riddled with errors. I had to chase multiple corrections before dispatch, and despite raising concerns, a Gen 2 keg was sent instead of the Gen 3 I paid for. That was rejected and returned at customs.
It’s now 11th October and I’ve still not received the correct keg, the starter kit, or the recipe packs. I haven’t been able to brew a single batch.
I understand mistakes happen—but this has dragged on far too long. What should have been an exciting start has turned into a frustrating ordeal. I hope Minibrew can resolve this quickly and restore some confidence in their service.

I think it is an amazing machine that makes brewing really easy. I used to brew with the traditional 3 pots setup and this is totally different. It's true that you cannot control some things during the process, but I love that it's easy to clean and that you brew small batches. Everything worked as expected and the support team is superb, they are there for you all the time.
The only things I don't like is that the UI for the recipes could be improved to be more complex and the subscription is too expensive for what the UI offers and just to be able to use a machine that you already paid a lot for.
The kegs work really well for fermentation, even for lagers, anyway in my hot weather in Spain it would be impossible for them to reach the clarification and serving temperature during summer, I knew that before buying anyway, it's just how they work. So be ready to buy extra fridge and kegs for that.
I would love if you can put the recipe on pause to add things to the boiling wort, that you cannot add through the hop carrousel, or just to measure density and PH without interrupting the system abruptly.
