The singer-instructor of the class Zara, created a welcoming environment for all the kids and was so fantastic with them! Highly recommended.

Bad experience when child struggled on first day.
Unfortunately, our experience at Mini Maestros in Ivanhoe didn’t go as well as we had hoped. We had enrolled for the term and received the bag with the bumblebee upon arrival. However, on the first day, my 2-year-old daughter was overtired since the class coincided with her usual nap time, and she was also in an unfamiliar environment with new people.
She became overwhelmed by the colourful instruments and toys that were stored in transparent boxes and wasn’t interest in sitting in the circle with the group… she just wanted to explore! When she started crying and becoming restless, I decided to take her out of the session to avoid disrupting the other children’s experience. I thought, better luck next week!
To my surprise, the instructor ran after us and suggested we switch to a three-week trial, even though we had already paid for the full term. I was a bit taken aback but agreed and then she then asked for the bumblebee back which naturally upset my daughter to have it taken off her.
I was shocked she asked for it back - it’s completely natural for a 2-year-old to need time to warm up to something new, and we had every intention of attending the full term.
I felt offended by how the situation was handled, as I’m sure my daughter would have adjusted by the following week. When I later decided to cancel because I no longer wanted to return, I was charged $40 for the session. When I questioned this, I was told the charge included the cost of the bag. I pointed out that the bumblebee which was inside the bag had been taken off us, and if we were being charged that much for one visit, we should either be given the bumblebee or have the cost reduced. The response was that the fee didn’t include the bumblebee, which I found unbelievable and a complete rip off.
I hope no other parent has to go through this kind of experience if their 2-year-old child is overwhelmed and struggles on the first day.

I am sorry you didn’t have a good experience in your first lesson.
We expect that children need a few weeks to settle in to any new environment and need time to become comfortable and confident in the new setting. Exploring the space and even some tears can be normal parts of the settling process, and we are very used to helping children through these first few weeks so that they have positive experiences in our classes. Unfortunately, your daughter was particularly distressed in that first class and frustrated when she was not able to take equipment down from the shelves and tubs as she wanted to. Given the situation, it was thoughtful of you to take her out of the session to avoid further disruption for the other children.
Because your daughter was distressed to a degree that we don’t normally encounter, I felt that for your sake it may be better to take the introduction to classes in stages and that is why I suggested changing to a 3 week trial. That would have allowed you to see if your daughter was able to settle in after a couple more lessons, and, if not, you could have finished up without having paid for the full term and all the equipment. This was a judgement I made based on my 30 years of teaching young children. I was not expecting you to leave part-way through the class and my decision to follow you out of the room when you left was out of concern for you. I didn’t want you paying for a full term and all the equipment when it appeared possible that this program might not have been the right thing for your daughter at this stage. Had you taken the bee home and then decided to convert to a 3 week trial (the cost of which includes a bag and music book, but not the bumblebee puppet), we would have had to add the charge for the bee to the cost of the 3-week trial. So, my reason for asking you (not your daughter) for the bee back was to save you money. My concern was you were both ok and that you understood that there was an interim option available to you at lower cost rather than committing to 10 weeks of something that may not work. I had to speak to you quickly as I had the rest of the group waiting for me inside the classroom to continue the class.
The amount you ended up paying ($38, not $40) covered the first lesson and the music book and bag you took home. You were not charged for the bumblebee puppet. 🎶 🐝💕 Mini Maestros
Review
Tiff certainly has a way with children. She was able to redirect a child from distraction to focusing on the tasks at hand. The activities were fun and varied. Tiff was able to play the guitar and had a good singing voice which the children responded well to.

Highly Recommend Music Maestros!
My daughter has been attending Mini Maestros Craigieburn from 2 to 5 years old, and it has been an incredible experience! The program is well-structured, engaging, and a perfect blend of fun and learning. Her teacher, Linda, has been amazing—patient, energetic, and truly passionate about helping the kids develop their musical skills. It's been wonderful to watch my daughter grow in confidence and enjoy music through this program. Highly recommend Mini Maestros and Linda for anyone looking to introduce their child to the world of music!

Super fun
My daughter loves her sessions with Julia. They are super engaging and fun. The class sizes are not too big so each child gets individual acknowledgment. Julia is wonderful ☺️

Amazingly interactive with so many additional benefits outside music!
The perfect fit for our daughter who loves music but has trouble concentrating, particularly in a group setting! Mini maestro’s is engaging and interactive with enough repetition and movement that children feel safe and secure to try out new things and gain confidence every week. The non direct learning that occurs (relationships, self-esteem, active listening and so on) in the process is a huge added benefit.

From day 1 commencing in term 3 my…
From day 1 commencing in term 3 my grandson had just turned 2 and despite being initially shy was keenly observing his teacher,
Other children and the class routine. He actually had homework and has brought it to each class, extremely proud of his 5 little ducks.
Tiffany engages beautifully and directly with each child then moves on and returns if the time is not quite right. She also gently disciplines successfully and age appropriately. Personally I love the experience. Always a pleasure.

Great Experience …
I am a Nanna who looks after our 16th month old Grandson Logan.
I was looking for some fun educational time to spend with Logan.
Mini Maestros was exactly what I was looking for.
Logan loves going to Cathy, he loves the interaction with other children.
Logan is always ready for his music class, he knows he will get a bumble bee stamp on his hands at the end of every class.

Fun classes for my grandson and myself…
Fun classes for my grandson and myself while learning all about music and movement etc . Teacher is amazing with everyone and very flexible for a catch up class if we have to miss a Tuesday we can go any morning of the week. My grandson loves the happy half an hour we spend there.
