Been trying to get hold of them since the beginning of the year about changing my number to be able to access the online portal. Even after a letter stating this has been done I STILL cannot access this. After multiple emails and not one response I still cannot access the portal which has now caused more hassle. Is it really this hard to change a number? *update in July: annoyingly, it took a Trustpilot review to get my problem resolved. Whoever is in the complaints dept deserves a raise because the speed at which this was sorted was admirable. Still wouldn't want to work with them in the future if it can be helped*

Gangsters in suits!!
Scaremongering, harrassing, threatening the poorest of the poor! Adding on extortionate charges/fees and all they do is talk over you untill they get bored and hang up. The staff are 12yrs old. All around jokers that are a part of the Cabot group but act like they are an independant firm representing cabot

Every time I want to make a payment on their website it is down! I have complained about this multiple times now. Nobody wants to take ownership of anything when you ring up to report an issue and ask for a timescale of when it will be fixed, never given a straight answer or hung up on! Also have continued to contact me by phone despite being an email only account which is specifically stated on all the correspondence they send to me. Whole company is a shambles and needs investigating. Complaints team are just as useless, never accept responsibility for when their systems are down (which is pretty much regularly).

I sent this letter to Mortimer Clarke who is Cabots lawyers handling the case. They heard all of this from me personally as well as in letter form and rejected it, and are making me pay nearly £100 a month which I had told them was the last of my money left, after all my outgoings come out of my wages . I am 52 and have a constant doom feeling in my stomach because I needed that last £100 for last minute hospital visits or to collect my daughter from school if she has an accident or becomes ill. They have taken my last piece of dignity from me.

Please find enclosed my application for suspension of warrant of control from Cabot financial.
It was never my intention to cease payments that I had done for 4 years with my previous payment plan. I cancelled my direct debit with Cabot in February due to a very dire financial situation I found myself in after the craziness of Christmas and the current extortionate price of food in the supermarkets . I meant to reinstate the direct debit in March but due to various ongoing medical issues with my health I forgot to do so.
Currently I am under NHS consultation for the following issues
• All over body Osteoarthritis
• Right side abdominal hernia with Lipoma
• Hypothyroidism (Underactive)
• Depression, serial migraine sufferer since 1992
• Odemas in both feet
• Diagnosed Obesity.
All of these issues have severely affected my mobility and it has resulted in my having to get taxis to and from work with a monthly cost of over £400. I have applied for an Access to work grant but that will take a few more months before it is approved, I have also applied for a blue badge such is the severity of my condition.
I have enclosed a PDF printout of my last payment to Cabot , as you can see I was paying £10 a month and my offer is to resume making that same monthly amount.
Also enclosed, outgoings print outs
I hope that my proposal is acceptable , please contact me asap to resume the direct debit payments .

I have gone through the complaints procedure and now have an offer either complete the ccj paper work which they will likley decline my reasonable offer as they think i can afford it, or arrange to pay the debt in 3 months. Once again my personal situation has not been taken I to account, all I can say is I hope the members of the company have sleepless nights and anxious days as I do. I am now applying for a loan to get these vultures off my back once and for all. You win. Disgusting.

am disgusted in the way this company have treated me. I have an old debt and was paying monthly, I hit some financial hardship and spoke to them and had to cancel the direct debit. Life got in the way and I forgot to re set it. I called them to re set and they were pretty much demanding I paid an amount which I know would leave me struggling. I offered them an amount I thought i could mange, they refused this offer. I set the payment up anyway and have been paying this. Yesterday I recieved a ccj letter. The debt is now higher and I can't fight my corner without the possibility of more costs being added. I am so disgusted that they believe by sending a few numbers they can predict what you can afford. I live my life and my situation and know the reality of what I can afford without it impacting my life in too much of a negative way. Appalling treatment when I feel.i had made a reasonable offer.

Absolute disgrace. I had money wrongly taken from my account, phoned up to speak to someone. The guy who I got through to told me that he couldn't do anything until the 9th. Asked for a letter just stating what had been paid and when etc and he told me that he couldn't do that for 15 days as he didnt have the correct equipment. Requested a call back that never happened. I'm going to report them to the financial ombudsman if I can.
Looking at the score and all of the other bad reviews, something should be done about them. Disgraceful !!

I’m banging my head against a brick wall … I have emailed numerous times to try and get a settlement. Apparently there must only be one person reading emails . I have never known anything so unprofessional in my life . The sooner they are out of my life the better . Their website is an absolute joke if I see “ sorry it’s seems we are having technical difficulties “ one more time I’m going to loose what little patience I have left . 5 times to submit 1 form and still no answer . Thankfully I have screen shot everything to go to ombudsman

Absolute joke, do not know what the left hand is doing from the right, apparently they are solicitors?
Over the course of past 14 months received five settlement offers all on there headed paper, once when in position to settle wrote asking for a little more time to get the money together all very polite was ignored!
The best one received, was a settlement offer of circa £3700 and then a few days later sent another settlement letter for circa £1200 same account. Had a settlement letter with even lesser amount asked Mortimer Clarke why all different amounts again ignored. Do not let them get you down, they make mistakes so you need to challenge them on everything they do complain, complain complain.

Friendly enough but after being on phone 20 mins going through income and expenditure referred me to citizens advice wanted me clear 1500 debt at 250 per month ridiculous.

Spoke to Ashley/Ashleigh Sorry if spelled wrong.
She was a real Star on the phone with her Today for I think 30 mins maybe longer.
She really helped our private matter and understood our issues affecting our household. She was emperthic and was kind and respectful and treated my Wife and I with dignity. ( We both have disabilites ) she also dealt with the call at our own pace and never once rushed us.

I have an account with mcs and pay monthly.they previously placed me with a ccg which really affected my life.there constant calls letters are so stressful.im already in a agreement to what I can afford however this doesn't stop them.myself and my sister were nursing my mum 8 weeks ago at home with the district nurses and mcs constantly were calling my phone.because they rang that many times and left an automated call my phone would ring day and night.when I was away from mum such as having to get supplies for her,medicines they would call and call and call and obviouslyi couldn'tturn my phone off we were up all night with mum but my children and neices would text saying hows nan now etc so i couldn't have my phone off and it just continued. They would call at least 3 times per day.i would sit with my lovely mum, and they were constantly calling.i cant tell you how upset and angry i am because i cannot get that time back.mum passed away 5 weeks ago and the memories I have with mum is me diving on the phone to stop the calls as the phone would wake my lively mum up and then she'd be in terrible PAIN AGAIN.I tried blocking them and they would come through on a different number ,that happened many times it was like wackamole.so they have new numbers they use.I have made a complaint.Its was pure harassment. It ruined what should have a been a gentle passing between a lovely mum and her 2 daughters but they RUINED our time with our precious mum.I hope they never experience my experience. Shame on them.A sorry is just not going to cut it.Im actually thinking about going to the press over this, but waiting to here from complaints.

Nothing but constant harassment from these debt collectors with the front of a solicitors in fact they are part of cabot and use this front to extract money you probably don't owe them in the first place.. they never provide proof when requested and use the court system to extract money from people who genuinely can't afford it!
