I brought a John Deere sit on mower from Congleton Garden machinery on 12.05.2023 as I was a loyal customer for years. In the last couple of weeks I found a problem with the mower as the grass cutter was not engaging. Rang Congleton Garden Machinery on 31.05.2024 to be told that they could not help me and that I needed to ring John Deere as they were no longer a supplier. I hoped that my problem could be dealt with effectively. They also advised to speak to a dealership in Nantwich, I am not impressed with the customer service and wanted to advise others.

I'm an IT Consultant with a couple of acres of flat clay pasture on the Cheshire plain I wanted to tidy up and save from rush infestation.
Having spent considerable time researching the best solution, I decided a Kubota compact tractor with a flail mower was the best option.
Unfortunately however, the price new, upwards of £20K was more than I was willing to pay, so I had no choice but to look at the second hand market.
Without any knowledge of tractors there was no way I was prepared to consider buying a second hand one from a potentially untrustworthy supplier.
This didn't really seem to leave too many options, but one of them was Cheshire Garden Machinery on the other side of the county in Congleton.
First thing that impressed we was the large number of Kubotas they had for sale. Clearly this was a business that knew the Kubota market and probably wasn't going to take on something that hadn't passed some serious quality assurance. So I rang them up about a B2231 and spoke to Andrew Meek who was excellent - very knowledgeable and helpful, without being pushy at all. He explained the suitability of the hydrostatic transmission for a novice like me, and advised a 1.25m Winton Flail Mower.
We agreed a price that I was very happy with and free delivery was arranged for the following week.
When it arrived it looked almost brand new - spotlessly clean and well maintained. I can't remember the name of the guy who dropped it off as it was a couple of months ago now, but he was a friendly fellow, in keeping with my first contact with Cheshire Garden Machinery and he patiently explained all the levers and controls to the point where I was happy.
Then it went into the garage where it stayed for three months because the rain never stopped and the field was too saturated.
Finally, last week the weather became dry enough to try it out - it started first time. It was easy and good fun to drive, although I took it very slow.
The flail mower did a brilliant job cutting the grass very short and it significantly levelled the lumpy ground, so in a couple of hours the field was transformed.
My experience with Cheshire Garden Machinery, Kubotas and Winton Flails has been entirely positive and I would definitely recommend them to anyone in similar position to me.
So far nothing has gone wrong but if it did I would trust CGM to resolve it satisfactorily - and I'll be taking up their annual service arrangement.
A very good company providing a sadly now old-fashioned standard of service - a pleasure to do business with.

Easy to deal with, will buy again

Best price I could find, even including delivery. The mower arrived in perfect condition. Very happy so far.

I bought a "trade in" 2 stroke Mower recently from C. G. M. Andrew the Director dealt with me personally and took plenty of time to explain "do's and don'ts" Excellent Service, Quality and Price. Delighted with purchase and would certainly recommend.

Chased for a refund on a returned item for 4 months.

Purchased a scarifier via eBay and found them very knowledgeable and friendly. I actually ordered a collection bag and forgot about it. They rang me up to remind me and posted it on.was received the very next day.

Just wanted to give the above store a Huge Well Done on giving excellent service!
After realising I needed a new lawn mower I called the above branch to see if they had a the lawn mower which I was after . The lady on the phone was very helpful with information that this wasn’t in stock but she could order one for me . I decided to go to another well known retailer to purchase the lawn mower but the service was appalling, I left that store and made my way to Congleton Garden Machinery where I was met with friendly atmosphere and smiling colleagues. Rick was the gentleman that serviced me. He was efficient,polite and knowledgeable. Less than a week later my lawn mower arrived and it was all put together and lifted into my car . I was “WOW’d with the whole experience that I received. From the lady on the phone to me having the lawn mower put into the back of the car the service was EXCELLENT. A smile goes along way . All the colleagues that were in that day (18th September ) are a credit to the company . Well Done and Thank You :)

I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again

I bought a trailer from this firm. First rate, quality secondhand trailer. I could not fault them. I would definitely buy from them again and would recommend them without hesitation.

I ordered my Allett mower online with a quick reply to say it was in stock. This was followed up with a phone call to ask when I wished to take delivery and was delivered the following day. I was extremely pleased with the buying process.

Excellent company to deal with...
I changed my order last minute, just before it was due to be sent out and already packed, Helen said leave it with me.
She changed the mower and refunded the difference within an hour and the mower was here next day.
She also registered it with Allett for me :)

My other half ordered from them 12 days ago. No sign of goods. They don't respond to emails either. Have since ordered from elsewhere. Took 2 days.....
Have since replied to emails.
Item was down as IN STOCK. when ordered 2 WEEKS ago.
From their response this has changed twice now, to will be in stock 2nd September to 4th September.
As said in emails (and in other reviews I've noticed) DO NOT say an item is in stock if it's not!!! Put the date that stock is expected.

Also replied to this review 7 months later.......there were no calls made to us. AVOID AVOID

Would not hesitate to buy from Mowersplus in the future, spoke to a lady there called Kiera which I explained what mower I was looking for. She explained everything to me what I wanted to know. The mower and attachments where all in stock and I went and picked up everything with in 2 hours. It was not the closest to me but the service and the advice was well worth the travel, absolutely 5 star service.Thanks again for all your help .
