Find another company

Husni Abualeinein, who said he is part owner, came by in an unmarked vehicle for an estimate. As we are walking through and I'm showing him what will be a full house remodel he is continuously overtalking me, being condescending and arrogant. In talking about installing cabinets he said that without doing other work he would upcharge for $4k to 6K. Before he left he handed me a different business card pushing 7 other companies that he owns.

Absurd price, obviously incapapable.

I needed a deck rebuilt on the back of a house. It took Mr Handyman over a month to give me a bid. I obtained 3 bids in total. My handyman was $100,000.00 over the next highest bid. They also were the only group to need me to pay them for the bid. The communication through them was awful, I was always waiting for a response that may or may not come. The final bid which was just south of $160,000.00 came by7 Email. My guess is they were not capable of doing the work & intentionally priced themselves out of the market. I am a retired contractor. I know how these organizations work. My experience is that good craftsmen do not go to work for organizations like this. Like good mechanics don't work for dealers.

Came out to give estimate

Came out to give estimate, nobody called with the price so I called the company to see what my price was, I just got excuses told they would call me back I tried several more times but never given a price or interest in helping me. I found another company that sent someone out the next day to do the work at a good price. I will never use mrhandyman again.

Great Job. Your worker was not only a very efficient carpenter, but an easy to communicate with workman who did exactly what needed to do on a very old dwelling. Good common sense paid off very well.

I had soffit to repair and a door frame…

I had soffit to repair and a door frame to replace. Patrick showed up and went over the different ways repairs could be done.
After a short walk-through Patrick got to work and produced outstanding results. I will be using Mr. Handyman services again in the future.
Thank you for a job well done and on budget.

Im a Local Realtor In Charleston SC. I could not believe that after they charged my client 600 to diagnose a leaking deck that after missing their own deadline they came back with a quote to come back out and re-diagnose the damage, "with no repairs" a diagnose fee of $6,500. These people are CROOKS. stay clear of this company.

I hired this company to check for a…

I hired this company to check for a possible leak in my upstairs bathroom. They gave me no clear diagnosis and instead pushed an overpriced quote for a full bathroom remodel. I asked for just a tilling quote- they said they'd follow up but never did. Now I'm stuck with and $80 charge for a visit that provided no value. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Ignored Explicit Instructions & Then Called Me a Name & Hung Up on Me

I had a few jobs around the house that needed to be done. I asked friends for recommendations. They all said the same thing--I do not know a good, reliable handyman, but if you find a good one, please let me know! Well, I have not found a good one yet, but I found possibly the worst one in DFW if not in the entire state of Texas: Mr. Handyman Arlington and Northwest Mansfield.

I did a google search and found these people. I contacted them with a list of the things I needed done and asked for a quote. The very FIRST thing I said was "NO TEXTING." I prefer email especially with someone I do not know.

However, they not only totally ignored my instructions, they proved to be the least professional "company" I have encountered in many years.

A young woman not only phoned me but texted me as well. It was very early in the morning, and I had been up all night drinking, so I was not amused to receive both a phone call and a text from this company. I belled them back almost immediately. I was very angry indeed.

A different woman answered the phone. I told her I was not happy. I said I was angry because I EXPLICITLY told them NO TEXTING. I said I had been up most of the night before drinking and was in bed asleep as both a phone call AND a text message had just come in very early in the morning. I said I HATE text messages and do not text with people I love much less with businesses. Just because a technology exists, it does not mean that everyone has it or if they have it that they use it. There is plenty of technology in the world I do NOT want or use. Cable telly has been around for a few decades now, but I do not have it nor do I want it even if it were free. NO COMPANY should presume it is permissible to text someone without asking them first, and definitely should never be done if the customer has already said NO TEXTS.

I paused in what I was saying, and the woman replied "you are an ugly woman!" and then she hung up on me. Yes, she called me a name and hung up on me. They ignored my instructions and then blamed me for being angry, called me a name, and hung up on me.

I am sorry I ever contacted this "business" and gave them all of my personal, private information. I am glad, however, that I found out what they are like before I might have hired them. Can you imagine what it would be like to deal with them if you hired them and they damaged your property? If they would treat you like this BEFORE you hire them, what would they do AFTERWARD if they damaged your property or hurt someone??

To add more insults to injury, I discovered they unilaterally recorded my call without telling me, not that that would have changed anything I said to them. It further shows, however, just how unprofessional and dishonest they are.

I promptly filed a BBB complaint against them. A few days later, someone replied to the complaint but did not sign his/her name to the reply. Professionals always use a signature block containing name, address, phone number, etc. This person would not identify himself/herself. This also underscores the lack of professionalism.

Now, in a case like this, one would expect a simple apology in aid of some sort of conciliation. That is standard procedure for reputable companies with professional people. Instead, they had secretly recorded the call and transcribed it in the reply to the BBB complaint as if calling an angry customer names and hanging up on them is thereby justified. No professional worth his/her reputation ignores explicit instructions, treats a customer like this and then JUSTIFIES it with a transcribed conversation showing that the customer was angry.

Moreover, whoever replied lied in the reply and said I would not allow the person to "explain." This is not true. The woman called me a name and hung up. She never tried to "explain" anything. However, there is no reasonable explanation for ignoring customer instructions just as there is no reasonable excuse for calling a customer a name and hanging up on them.

As horrific an experience as this has been, it was a blessing in disguise, sort of like being bumped from the passenger list on Titanic. I now know I dodged a bullet in hiring them. I am so glad I found out how they do business before it was too late.

Caveat Emptor!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

David at Mr Handyman was…

David at Mr Handyman was great---professional, kind, did a great job and cleaned up well. I felt they charged a good price on what I asked for them to do. I plan to use them again. As I said, David was wonderful

Handyman service

We have used Mr. Handyman on several occasions. They have done everything from drywall repair and painting to installing new flooring. It's nice to have someone local we can trust!

They sent us an invoice without providing any service!

A technician came on the initial appointment and did not provide any service. He took a look at the windows we asked to fix and said he would come back another day with materials without explaining the issue. We organized another appointment time and the technician never showed up. I called the office and was told that they could only replace the window so we did not move forward. The reception said no charge would be created because Mr. Handyman does not replace windows and can only refer to another company.

However, they sent a 400 dollars invoice for labour and parts a month later which was made up because the technician did not even bother to take the tools into the property to open up or inspect the window parts. We ended up using another window repair company to repair the window sash.

Very disappointed in this company

Very disappointed in this company. Person who came out gave me prices based on what would or wouldn’t be done. Different tech came out and not only was he aggressive but he tells me one price and then charges me 150 more. The job was checked afterwards and it was a horrible job and totally ripped me off. I wouldn’t call them ever again and warning others to not call them either!!!

No way would I hire Mr. Handyman

Scheduled a job a month ahead and it was a no show on the day scheduled. Rescheduled a week later and was assured that they could do the job. Tech came and had no clue how to do the job. A half hour to read instructions that I had sent a month prior. 2 and a half hours later the tech could not finish the job and left. $188 and the job was not completed.
