This was the first time I've had to make a repair on my John Deere D170. The description on the part I was replacing was enough to assure me that I was getting the correct replacement part. No better feeling than being able to get the job done correctly on the first attempt.

Ordered a mulcher kit for my Deere x500. The one I received had a different P/N than the one I ordered. I made a quick call to see why, wound up talking to the head guy(owner?) who gave me the answer. Only the P/N changed - the part was the same.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I went in this morning to purchase a Toro snow blower with an electric start. My neighbors went with me, the price on the tag was $399.00. The salesman told us that is the price for the October sale and even if we had a trade in the price would be the same. He said the price in November would be $459.00 and if we had a trade in then the price would go down to $399.00. The tag showing $399.00 did not state with trade in and the salesman did not mention the price was higher if there wasn't a trade in this morning. I told him I would buy it. When he wrote the ticket up and ran my credit card he ran it at $459.00. I questioned it and he said that is the price without a trade in. I said that isn't what he said and the tag doesn't say anything about a trade in only that it is an October Sale. I told him the website was $399.00. He said he doesn't have anything to do with the website and argued that he told us the $399.00 was with a trade in and the price without a trade was $459.00. I brought a trade in with me and when he told us there wasn't anything off the $399.00 for a trade I told my neighbor's son he could have my old one and sell it and keep the money. The salesman heard me say that and didn't correct me that $399.00 is with a trade. I asked to talk to a manager, he said he was the manager and had worked there 7 years. By this time he handed me my receipt and a receipt showing he refunded my money. He knew I wasn't going to fall for the games they were playing. I then went home, went online and bought the same model from Home Depot for $399.00 with free delivery. I tried to buy local but local plays games!
