It is impossible to speak to anyone on the phone and difficult to navigate the site. On top of this it took a long time to get any response via email. Charges adopters a fee to register their details for the first time and charges a rescue to release the chip to another company.

My dog was registered with this company…

My dog was registered with this company since a puppy, I’ve tried to log in recently to be told he is on the old system and I need to update it? I paid an extra £10 to register register and it says I have no pet on the system.
It’s all very strange as when I try to log in with my email it says email already exists? I’ve emailed the company and took days for them to get back to me and still no clearer if Infact my dog is registered? As a pet owner this is very scary to think if he was lost I could not be contacted. I’m looking for advise in what I do next .
Will speak to my vet as this is very concerning

Breeders need to AVOID- I'd give them less if I could-…

I would give zero stars if I could. This company appears to operate on a model that prioritises breeder commissions and "free" registrations over actual pet safety and customer service.

To Breeders: Please do not be enticed by the free registration or commission offers. While it seems like a "win" for you, you are forcing your puppy buyers into a non-responsive, "ghost" database. I am now stuck in a situation where I am forced to pay a transfer fee for a service that literally does not respond to multiple contact attempts.

They ignore emails and contact forms, yet require "explicit permission" to allow me to move my pet’s data to a more reputable, responsive database. This is a dangerous barrier to data portability. If my dog were to go missing today, I have zero confidence that this company would facilitate a reunion in a timely manner.

This feels less like a pet protection service and more like a scheme to capture data and fees without providing the necessary support. Avoid at all costs.

Poor Communication

I ordered and paid for a new animal trace tag on the 28th August and have had no confirmation of order and three weeks later we still have NOT received the tag, yet the monies has been confirmed paid by credit card.

Horrendous... would not recommend to my worst enemy!

Horrendous... everything from (lack of) customer service, the site and actually any value for what you pay for!
It's like this company exists as a front to scam you out of your money and then disappear into the ether!
A very convoluted mechanism for signing up, no clarity on what you are actually paying for, certainly nothing of substance once you have signed up and that includes zero responses from anyone - just an email auto reply to inform you someone from the team will be in touch.
Over 2 months' later and still nothing - I've had to chase but I'm not holding my breath that anyone will respond!
Give as wide a berth as possible - you have been warned!

UPDATE: Send an email and write a negative review, you get a response. No explanation as to what happened but I'll take the fact that I got a response at least.

This website is terrible to navigate

This website is terrible to navigate, I've managed to sign up as a new keeper filled in all my details etc and paid the £30 fee..the money has gone out of my bank, I've had no confirmation that this has been set up or registered properly, when I log onto my animal trace there are no pets registered on my keeper app so what's going on?? No customer service..no response to emails..how is this company allowed to practice? I only used thus company because the breeder used them for the micro chip...will be reporting to defra they shouldn't be operating as a business..

We are a little confused at your review as we have only received one website enquiry form entry from you on the 30th July 2025 asking us how to register which we responded to within the hour. We have not received any direct email from you or other correspondence until this review.
We did receive a registration from you yesterday (17.08.2025), thank you, and after receiving your trustpilot review, we assume that unfortunately, you are having issues with your registration details displaying via your account?
We can only apologise for this as we have updated our login systems and are still completing these works. We do have a notice on the website and we do ask for patience and understanding at this time. We would like to reassure you, your pet is registered, and we do hold your contact details for reunification and we apologise (for the assumption) that your details haven't displayed in your account and the technician is working on this as we speak.

Please in future just know we are here if you pop us an email we can sort out any issues you may have :)

Very Poor Microchip Database

Tried contacting company by email multiple times to update animals details that had been relinquished into RSPCA care. No response from MyAnimalTrace at all. Tried calling the telephone number to talk to a representative only to find the system is an automated one with no option to actually talk to someone. Will try and report to DEFRA and the Association of Microchip Database Operators.

Impossible to speak to anyone

Trying to reunite a dog with its family but unfortunately there was no answer on the emergency phone line, which directs you to another emergency phone line which is also not answered. Hours later and no answer to the voicemail, email or the chip check enquiry feature on the website. Imagine the compromise to animal welfare had the pet been injured.
Not fit for purpose.
This company is not registered with the Association of Microchip Database Operators.
