A very nice job on quality paper. I only wish you did more generations than, what is it, seven?

Found mistakes I made, even after editing but more were made in the transfer of data. Will not re-order, but will make a new book and do way more editing before next purchase.

My ancestry book came out great!!! I was able to add in pages for photos, census records and make it like a scrapbook. Mine was over 300 pages long and the pages are colorful and good quality. I was able to transfer info from Ancestry.com. I will be making more books!!!!

Concern over costs and quality
I have finally finished the books but a bit shocked how expensive they are. They have taken me so long to do. I have tried to cut down on the pages to make it a bit cheaper. I have done 2 books for two Family lines. I did not realise one book alone can cost so much as it is in US dollars which I did not realise as I am from Australia. One book was coming at 480 AU dollars. Yikes. I bought one book previously as a gift to a family member and the quality was not the best for what they are charging. For example some table timelines and family tree tables look slightly pixelated and out of focus.

You all did a great job…my family just love their Christmas gifts…

I ordered 4 family history books in 2 batches. The first took much longer than expected, 2-3 months, though the second was quicker, the delay being due to the large photo files in the books. All of this I can accept as they did arrive in time for Christmas, landing on the doorstep unexpectedly as no tracking and the the order status did not say shipped. Katelyn was helpful in replying to my queries.
However, I am very disappointed with the construction of the books. The printing quality is good but the pages and spines are poorly glued resulting in loose pages necessitating gluing and taping of the spine and several pages before I could gift them. Disappointing indeed. It seems my “legacy books” will be lucky to last until Boxing Day. UPDATE: 3rd Jan 2023 - I initially gave Mycanvas 2 stars due to the above problems but did reach out to the company as they requested. Their response was prompt and excellent and within 2 weeks over the holiday period I received replacement family history books with full information and tracking. I’m happy with the product and outcome so my review has been edited to 4stars.

I wanted 3 family history hardcover books for our adult children. I ordered one as a tester to see what it looked like when it arrived. The book arrived much quicker than I expected, I think about 10-14 days later, and I was delighted with it. It was very professional and good quality. MyCanvas had contacted me on receipt of my order to say that two of the photographs I had included were pixelated and may not be of good quality, but I let them stay thinking I would review them on arrival before I ordered the other two books but, in my opinion, they were good enough to remain in the book. It took me a long time to put the book together and my heart goes out to those who have lost their work or weren't satisfied with the end result but for me, the whole experience was superb.

My Canvas Family Tree book arrived, poorly glued front page to the cover. Very expensive and not worth the money, could have made a better book myself with the office binder. Avoid and save your money.

I used MyCanvas to create a family tree poster for each of my grandchildren. I used my Ancestry account to upload and the program did a fine job of filling in the information. It was easy enough. The paper it printed on was nice. It arrived quickly.

These people treat their customers terrible. I order a Book of my family ancestry and they charged me $250 and they emailed me and said my order would be delayed INDEFINITELY! I tried to get ancestry involved because they have a contract with mycanvas. Ancestry said they couldn't help and mycanvas doesn't have a contact number you can only contact them via email.

Ancestry I'm very disappointed in you for ever giving these people a contract. I will be discontinuing my ancestry account. I have to find a way to get my $250 back.

Don't use MyCanvas you will be very disappointed and pissed.

Wish I could give a zero. Worked for hours on a book. Wouldn’t load pictures. Gave them access to research. Weeks pass with no response. Katelyn then ghosts me. Then I get told I need a better internet than my 400mbps cable. I had to buy a different laptop. Then went to checkout and was told cart would not work with windows 10. This place is a joke!!!! Then the $75 album became over $300 with additional page charges. I would run. Offered a discount code but that in no way offset the months of crap. They are not with ancestry now. Just linked to them. Costs me $40 to renew ancestry to make sure I kept access through months of bs to ensure my work did not go to waste.

this company sucks. they should be removed from te internet. I spent a few hours working on a project and it will not take my order. No response, no nothing.

I searched for a place to review MyCanvas. They are connected to Ancestry so I thought they would be especially sensitive to the collecting of family documents and photos. In spite of their difficult website, I spent months making a family history/photo book. I ordered one copy. Today-a year or so later, I went back in to order more. They are using a new platform and--so sorry--had to get rid of all those old books. So sorry for the inconvenience they said!!!! This is a tragedy. I cannot replicate all that work. Why would you ever use this company that has so little respect for their customers.

If I could rate this product with zero stars I would. Where to begin...
1. Cannot move freely or resize text boxes. Cannot edit the text once you exit the text box.
2. Cannot move pictures onto the page. Can only upload one picture at a time.
3. Due to political correctness and cancel culture, they will not provide the previously available background for confederate soldiers (showed them furling the confederate flag).
4. The background transparency cannot be changed.
5. Only an ancestor tree is available. The old version allowed for the creation of descendent tree and a tree that would descend and ascend.
6. Lost most embellishments and picture frames and corners.
7. You cannot add an introduction page BEFORE the Table of contents.
8. You cannot automatically update the book if you make changes, additions, or deletions in Ancestry.com.

I am at a total loss as to why the makers of Mycanvas would build a much inferior product to their "classic" version. I will be forced to find another genealogy book maker.

I’ve used this website for years and the update has destroyed my one way to make cal gifts. Next to no control over events, no auto photo addition, no editing of the top picture. Horrible. Waited 30 min for customer support and heard nothing. Atrocious.

mycanvas used to be amazing. They changed their website, got rid of 90% of the ability to customize and went with the cheapest product possible. They raised their prices on calendars from 19.99 to 35.00. I can buy a better product on every website out there for less. I spent thousands with Mycanvas but will never spend another dime now that they have sold out. I don't know how they stay in business now.

I was ready to start producing my family history book but the site told me that it was being completely changed. I waited....waited....waited. When it did open only a few of the features were available. I was told that if I started by book none of the other features that were being added later could be used. So I waited...waited...waited. Finally was able to start. I put in about 30 hours of work, about 75% done, when BANG! I could not open the project and continue working on it. Customer service worked with me, EMAIL ONLY, but I could not open my project. I was told that this problem would be sent to the "engineer" who would troubleshoot it and they would be getting back to me. WELLLLLLL after 3 more emails to them asking what the hell is going on.......4 weeks later I'm told that they are "Looking Into It". I fear that all is lost and still no contact with a live person. Only emails saying they will notify me when they have a solution. I still have about 20 hours of work to do. Its a big book. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING THERE?????

I am delighted with the new My Canvas software for Family History books!!! Last year when My Canvas changed its software platform due to the desupporting of FLASH it was a total SHOCK !!! It did not work !!! It was nothing like their prevous software that was so good for printing Family History Books!!! But now they have incorporated all the wonderful features they had before and they are BACK !!! Thank you My Canvas!!!

I read the reviews on this site and wasn't going to order my photo book but decided there was no way I could even print photos for the price they could do it. I spent a lot of time planning it though and finally sent in my order and WOW I could not be more pleased with the end results. Old family photos came out so good and the quality is fantastic!

I had been working on my family tree book and like a lot of other people put in many hours/years to create it. I see some people say they received a notice that their projects would be deleted/lost but I never received anything. I've tried to use the "new" program and it's horrible! I would not recommend anyone waste their time! You'd think Ancestry.com would find a solution for this issue especially when we're paying for their service.
