Have a problem with the water pressure in the house. A very pleasant polite young man ,Andrew, called today and a new valve recommended for the outside source which he will organise and we hope will help. Thank you Andrew 😊
I found N. I Water really good. we needed a connection fixed into the house from the road and l expected a very frustrating experience so i was surprised to get through first time every time on the phone and they were a great help. Came out quickly to sort it out and phoned to let me know what they had done and when they,d do a follow up..couldn,t fault them tbh . very happy .
Typical Northern Ireland public sector garbage.
I have a specific insight in to the sheer lack of competence, accountability and waste of taxpayers funds keeping this gravy train afloat -names and jobtitles can be provided if necessary. Classic NI Cavehill Rd quango, top heavy with spineless public sector dinosaurs, management level staff (who would struggle to get a job in the supine NI Civil Service) drinking and taking drugs at home on full pay during working hours. Taking the complete piss - The Nolan Show will be shortly taking this pitiful organisation to the cleaners and rightly so -watch out "Senior Management Team lol :)
They don't comply with their own guidance and customer service is useless
Honestly, they don't even deserve 1 star- Poor Poor Poor. An online chat- which to be honest, is a one way street- and there are no signs to tell you which way to travel- just their way and at their speed. You cannot make an appointment for an inspection??? Seriously. This is 2025. They will show up some time in the next 7 days..... Oh My! How can anyone in construction work like that! The hole cannot be filled in, the drive way cannot be surfaced until their employee inspects that the pipe is 750mm below the ground! Cant take a picture as evidence! Cant do a live video chat! Nothing until they show up sometime in the next week..... The world has moved on with technology, but not NIW. Putting a pipe in at the right depth is not rocket science. Getting an online booking system would be a simple suggestion to improve things....
After many many attempts to get a receipt for desludge I have still have not received it. Customer service have made no attempt to help me and they are aware it is stopping our house from selling. The fact they can only keep emailing to request it and not lift the phone shows the level of customer service.
This country needs an independent private advocate for NIW customers,an advocate that has no connections to The Water Regulator or The Consumer Council.
Brutal - was advised I would get a refund for an application that was not worked on. after phoning for days on end with no response, got a response stating no refunds. Even though they did not do 1 bit of work!
online portal is a waste of time, they do not monitor or reply. Terrible service
1 star is too much
These people are corrupt believe it or not. Wait to you hear this.
I reported fraud with good reason as a farmer switched the water lines at the main stop valve in the enclosures at the roadside between the domestic and the commercial supplies 26 years ago. I know this because I stood and watched him when I was 10 years old dig the ground whist also tapping into the line with no meter. Here, he fed two large drinkers for two 12 Arce fields and run a feed to his farm that filled large vessels in the photos.
He rents the two 12-acre fields for his large dairy farm of a family member and somehow thinks he can do what he wants when it comes to the property where me and my dad was reared. A 25mm blue water pipe is fed the whole way to his farm 150 yards away tucked in below a hedge at the roadside in the photos.
The tanks use to overflow washing the manure into our yard due to faulty float valves. I asked him to fix, and his reply was, it's ok, am not paying for it. This went on for years.
When washing van, I was directed to turn water off. The singular meter at the roadside was meant to be feeding the fields and not house.
No matter how much household water used, it was only ever going to be a fraction of what was being stole or letting run down the roadside.
The float valves on the drinkers use to run water down the field at a high rate, whilst washing the cow manure into my clean yard. I told him to fix the drinkers. His reply was, "it's ok, am not paying for it."
One day I got a letter on my door from NI water threatening legislation on leaks at my property. This was incorrect, the leaks they listened to with the device were coming from the tethered valve on the road, which was the fields drinkers and farm corrupt supply.
One day they then came around to read the commercial meter, I told them not much point in this as the line is swapped. The guy stressed his concern and said he will put an end to this as he is an investigation officer and was only reading meters as the girl was off.
He switched the meter back to the original position, well the pipes were still cross-crossed.
These corrupt bunch never investigated the pipes. Once the farmer got heed of the meter being switched to original state, he never wasted another drop of water. In fact, he reversed the supply on the pipe he had fed to the farm for 28 years. Meaning he closed the valve meter tight that he is paying for as cows drink large amounts of water. His corrupt line now has low pressure from a bore hole.
Today I turned off my mains water at the road because my attic pipes froze, just until I got home in the evening. It's here I found out his dirty farm supply is feeding my kitchen tap. Complete disgrace. He gets away with this behaviour. Line is cut tonight, to prevent me drinking contaminated water, from rats or legionnaires disease from water laying in old tanks.
Ni water protected this farmer because of who he knows or where the NI water have their pipes run on his land to prevent them digging up the roadside.
Corruption, rich get richer, not on my watch.
I have rung WaterLine nearly every day since January.
In October/November last year, I requested a check for a leaking main as there was noticeable rising water in the walls of the property (Please see attached images) and it has worsened ever since. At that stage it was said that it was a private issue, I took this information and hired a private leak detection agency (Leak Detection NI).
They were able to find and stop a heating line leak in the main hallway but stated that I would need to contact NI water as the property needs to be isolated (See attached Report) due to there being a leaking main elsewhere on the line and they can not determine where, they cannot check the neighboring properties or turn off their water due to it being a shared domain without being hired to do so by all parties, and we do not manage these properties.
After calling NI Water to arrange for the property to be isolated I was told this cannot be done as it is a shared domain, in which case I asked the Leak Detectors to reattend and try to find the leak and resolve it for fear of Structural Damage and as it seems to have damaged the integrity of the electrics on the ground floor. They informed me further that they are unable to do anything with this and that I needed to contact NI Water again for them to find out which property in the line the leak is coming from.
Once I contacted NI Water, they sent a team out to assess and submitted a slip through the door on 14/01/23 to say that it will be passed to the leakage team as the stop cock is in Number 20.
I chased this and there was NEVER an order raised with the leakage team until the second time of asking. I was told to call back the following week for an update to which the Agent on the other end of the phone said that the engineers report only stated "Private Issue". We understand this and asked to find out what property it was coming from as that was the issue that they were sent out to solve. We know there is a leak. We know it is a private issue. What we need to know is which house it is coming from to then contact them and resolve it or resolve it ourselves without another homeowner being out £1000 to get nowhere.
I was then told that the engineer was on leave and that his inadequate notes were all they had to go on. I was only told this after a week of chasing an update and having to get a manager to call me. I was then informed by the manager that he would personally submit a request to have the leakage team send out another engineer to find out what property the leak was in and again that he would give me a call once something comes in. He never called. I rang on the Monday following the call and was told again that the report it stated that it was a private issue. The sole reason they were sent on both occasions was to find out what property has the issue. I was told that an email would be sent to the leakage department again to find out what property it was coming from as hopefully, this engineer did not go on leave also.
I have chased this since January always with the promise of a return call and yet to no avail. I have chased this every day since the phone call with the manager and nothing, I was promised a phone call from a manager on 15/03/23 with an update and nothing.
The work that is going to need to be done because of the negligence and below-standard service is considerable, the homeowner has been out of pocket since before Christmas and it is still being delayed even further causing more and more damage every single day.
The service that has been provided has been truly terrible, the management is incapable of doing their jobs, the team member I spoke with today (16/03/23), Chloe, seemed to be more informative than the others and may get back to me but honestly, I will not hold my breath.
Great service from NI Water. Reported blocked sewer late Saturday, few buttons to press but once through to a real person very helpful, and it was cleared early Sunday morning
Disgusting company to work with given that they are a government run company and the stress small businesses have been put through over the last 16 months their threatening behaviour when looking money is unacceptable. Maybe they should stop wasting water rather than abusing small businesses
